It doesn't seem like 5 minutes ago that the Novice-I was released, but hot on its heels already is the Novice-II so we'd better take a good look at it before they release a Novice-III

That issue you're having in the rates tab is actually you changing profiles via stick commands, you can hear the buzzer make a tone when you're moving the sticks around. I can't remember what the commands are, but I ran into this a while back and realised it was me, you can actually watch it switch between the profiles when you input the stick commands.

Yeah - I used to use the profile switching on the sticks before OSDs were a thing. This seems to be a new Betaflight feature though. I've always been ale to go and change other rates profiles before

The novice 3 is out soon I hope you review it as the controller is a hobby grade one but the goggles still suck so you have to buy the whole package and Eachine won't do it as a bnf which is a shame really!anyway keep on reviewing as your costing me loads of money each month with fpv stuff!🙌

It seems weird that Eachine don't want to put this stuff out separately which is a shame. I had a quick look at the Novice-III Better spec and equipment, but it's quite a price. We'll see as far as a review goes

Eachine don't seem to have any intention of releasing the quad on it's own - which is a shame. I haven't looked at the FC, but there's usually an extra UART pin to connect a proper RX to

Just needs a bit of practice - try my free simulator out (although wait a week or so and I'll have an update that makes it all a bit better) to get the hang of it

I really wonder what Eachine are up to. If they would package any one of their quads with their ex100 goggles and a decent hobby type transmitter they would have a package worth buying.

It would cost a bit more, but getting half-decent stuff as a package is not that difficult. They could even get the rates right if they really tried

looks like a sweet kit....however ill wait till i see the novice3 reviews... i seen pics of the n-3 on b/g and looks like the radio/goggles are wayy better... reviews/testing will truly tell tho... great review mate!!

Yes - the Novice 3 looks like they've really stepped up, decent box goggles, a much better radio and even using tattu lipos ! The only problem is that it's pushed the price up a fair bit. I predict it's still going to be too much for a "novice" to use it, but at least it seems to have some real scope to be good this time

Hi, just picked up a Novice 2, did you do a follow-up video on controller rate setup? As a newbie, I would like my maiden to be controllable. :)

Not as such, if you look around 8m 40s that's where I set a lower rate. If you want a general low/gentle rates, if you download my sim, go into flight assist and set rates to beginner - that's a real gentle flyer and should translate to this quad quite nicely.

I just bought the Novice 2 V2. Do u have tips on making it a bit more indoor friendly? I have a hard time clntrolling it and i can't fly outside yet. Great vid btw keep it going:)

What's new in the V2 - I couldn't see it on the Banggood site? I have to say, it's not a great indoor quad, it's quite powerful and doesn't have enclosed props. But if I needed to fly indoors I'd put a throttle limit on it probably around 50% and put really gentle rates on it. I still have a vague plan of doing something to make the radio better, but not had the time still

@@CurryKitten I think the only difference is the controller. It has the FlySky I6 instead of the worse original one. And thx for the advice. Also i ordered mine from aliexpress but it's not available anymore. Seems like the discontinued the v2 or it will be in stock later

Are the profiles linked to the modes. I think my betafpv metoer 65 was the same.

It doesn't - you'll need to find yourself a DC adapter. I've got lots laying around from old chargers and stuff, but you can always find a DC adapter with variable voltage and different jack plugs to attach fairly cheaply

@@dieselharm7047 Any board running Betaflight will have a USB connector to plug into. It's then just a case of running the Betaflight Configurator on your PC and connecting
