Thank you Bus Grease Monkeys for making my Dad’s passion project so much safer and enjoyable for him to drive!! As you said in one of your responses, that dash fan is not that noisy in person as I’ve had the pleasure of traveling from the Grand Canyon to Oregon in that bus. And although he may not appear “over the moon”, I can assure you he is very impressed with you guys, your operation and the work you did. Thank you again!!
It’s the internet some people get very rude in their comments. I know he’s super happy. And yes the fan is just something the mic picked up really good for some reason. Some people just like to complain about stuff and the fan noise gives them something to dig at. I agree it was annoying sounding but i would never take the time or energy to complain to someone about it on their video.
@@BusGreaseMonkey i understand the point but 10 mins of that noise is too much to handle. Nice job done tho as always. This should be the biggest concern of that bus have.
Maybe he could buy a new fan!! I think you did a great job Scott. These people can't believe you resurrected the pos and it will take a trip for them to contact you and send the praise!! I am confused by how some customers can't understand the miracle you have given them. Nobody want's to work on these critters!! PTL you do!!
Limp in and leap out, what a difference 👍, and the amount of worry and knots you guys must take out of the owners stomachs is worth it ten fold, well done 👍
Spectacular,You and Tyler are true master's of your craft. The buses you work on sure do keep life interesting. The difference in boost as it made the climb to the shop was incredible.
I was taking a bus from Plymouth, Massachusetts to Boston and just we were about to depart an airbag blew. He bus company only heats the shops which holds 2 coaches so being in December and 9 o’clock at night the bus was ice cold but we were fortunate to have the failure occur at the headquarters. Everybody was complaining about the lack of heat and getting on the driver to turn the heat on so he did and then they were bitching about the cold air as the outside temp was 5 degrees. I finally could listen to the half a dozen complainer’s so I stood up and faced the rear of the coach as I was sitting in the first seat on the right. My statement was thus Ladies and gentlemen. This bus was sitting in the unheated section of shop which is why it’s so cold in here, bitching about the cold won’t make it warm up faster. Shut the hell up about the cold it takes a while for a Detroit to fully warm up. Anyone who continues to complain about the cold will be thrown off the bus at our next stop which does not have a heated waiting area. We never heard another peep out of the complainers. Food for thought
good job on that bus and with an owner who seems to be as mechanically unaware as that guy was it was hilarious when your asking about how the bus noit felt and he just saying fine until you were asking for details..
What I don't know what you guys done on this bus trip but I don't hear a lot of bounce on around is about the quietest bus ride I've ever heard with you guys
I can honestly say, not only did i trade for a normal sized school bus. I can also say I've also worked on its brake system already. To those that do not know the bus parts Grease Monkey works on. ARE NOT very light in weight.
What killed small town America was the shipping of factory production to China. Walmart provides affordable products to a population with limited income potential because of the loss of jobs. Yes Walmart does put some small retail shop owners out of business but don’t hate on Walmart for providing a service. If you want to hate on something try Amazon. It is slowly strangling retail outlets in larger cities. It’s called progress. We may not like it but that’s the way it goes. I’m not down on BGM. I’m a big fan but don’t pick on Walmart. Walmart does provide jobs with benefits at wages at least comparable to small town shops. Walmart stock has enriched a lot of investors over the years. I’m just trying to be fair here.
I remember when Sam Walton pushed “made in the USA”, that lasted for about two minutes after he passed away! Today Walmart = ChinaMart, no hate just reality.
To me that seemed to be one of the quieter busses you have worked on. I was really impressed on the work you guys did on this one. You guys are defiantly the best!!!. Now, get your woman in her apartment. :-)
Here a suggestion, what about a on screen break down of what it cost each rig? Your fee doesn't have to be included. I seen this on the TV show "Holmes Home Repair".
After watching the Eagle's cold start, I am thinking that you just might want a 4' diameter exhaust fan that pulls from the outside wall of the "apartment', through ducting installed in the attic of the "apartment" and exits out into the garage blowing all of the soot out the big end of the Quonset structure. At least the Spartan mosquito traps will have additional support...
I recognized that sound. My fleet had silver 92 DDEC engines. Slobber boxes on all of them always over flowering. Told the drivers if they got lost on a route to follow the oil trail.
I've never seen you replace or tear down an auto trans in one of these, are they that durable or trouble free that you never had the need too? What make auto trans. do they use?
Can i ask from the UK, where we have very stringent annual testing on commercial ( busses, trucks ) vehicles and documented 6 weekly checks, what is the law in the USA? Because alot of the mechanical wear we see BGM tackling didnt happen in the last month.
Rv’s are exempt from any inspections ever in most states. A few states require an annual inspection. Commercial motor vehicles get inspections and have pre trip safety checks required including special licenses to operate but once if becomes an rv 99% of regulations go away.
@@BusGreaseMonkey Little surprise then that so many of the buses you show are in such a bad condition. I guess a lot of the faults and issues you see would be trapped by even an annual, never mind 6-week, check.
@@BusGreaseMonkey Well that makes sense. If it was that noisy in person I am sure you would have turned it off. It is amazing what a mic picks up when not intended. Thanks for the very very fast reply.
I have a question. My wife saw this video and was asking how much do one of these units normally cis normally cost used.. She's thinking thinking about us getting one.
Most of what you see on our channel are 10,000-50,000 buses with 20,000-100,000 invested into them. But they are all 100 thousand dollars of fun to own. Many buses are purchased 2-5k but all need work It’s hard to drive one for under 10
You are going to need to put some sort of air handling unit in that place eventually if you end up putting garage doors on it. KHOA is not going to be happy with diesel residue all over her house... ;)
We have a huge fan that vents our shop at work 2 doors and 4 trucks. But the shop was built in 1937 so we can't get our full airshield trucks in. So they get worked on in our trailer shop.
I have been very busy. It is the plan but i didn’t think we were there yet. But cold starts in the morning we need one soon. Most of it blew out of the shop
Nicely done! QUESTION: 044 SCENICRUISER, BINDEX HOSE ROUTING? IS THERE A HOSE THAT ATTACHES TO THE DOME TOP OF THE BINDEX? (can send a picture to your cell phone-Scott from Scott-Seattle Washington.
Did anyone notice the parallel rows of clouds in the sky? I have a very hard trime believing that nature does that. At 64 years old, I first noticed geometrical patterns in the clouds 40 years ago, and they are getting more blatant every year it seems. Also, yes - protect your small town. It was no doubt built by local money. Rape of American Heritage and culture is the definition for "renovation" a town, unless it means structural rebuild of decaying buildings. Wonder where the renovation money is comming from. How refreshing it is to be in a town without McDonalds, Wallmart, etc.
@@BusGreaseMonkey I missed 1 of them, I do enjoy all the mechanical work. I really like old busses and watch a ton of semi truck and rv conversion videos, to me it just seems like more and more driving shots are being put up on various channels. Before you guys moved, it seemed like you did more in depth repairs, oil running into the armpit, bathe in Dawn dish soap at the end of the day kinda stuff. My prev comment wasn't meant to be a put down, just my opinion/observation.
