Nice job, Michael. He was a gentle soul (this was evident in their epic doc History of the Eagles). There is a common thread among most canonical groups - the Alphas get results, but most certainly are not the heroes of the story. Such is life.

Thank you for speaking up for Desperado. It is my favorite Eagles album as well. I love what the Eagles did after Felder joined, but to me the original four will always be The Eagles. Randy and in my mind especially Bernie got short shrift from the other two,

The Eagles had it all but they seem greedy and petty, alot of youtubers doing wonderful tributes to some of there music and the band seemingly, allgedly, i'm definately no expert on this, so do your own research, the full discalimer here, as there is something a bit mean about an absolute band of legends getting small subscriber, huge fans, carrying the torch and then receiving heavy messages from E**** copyright police, it is desperately sad, it's so disappointing maybe we set levels in our minds of a band like the Eagles rising above dross attitudes but instead willing on the young kid

R I P Randy..He had a terrific voice, but no-one in that band comes even close to Don Henley. Henley is arguably in the top handful of the best male rock/blues/country vocals of all time - period. Henleys solo songs are better than what all the remaining Eagles combined ever produced individually and actually are as great as any of the Eagles songs themselves, so with the utmost respect, and admiration for Randy I honour him by being totally real about his legacy. Also Felder often said the same thing about Henley's voice too so I wouldn't read too much into all of that - it's just professional courtesy.

Someone once said that you don't hear the music, you listen to it. I'm in my late 60's and have been an Eagles fan since the beginning. When "listening" I always took the pleasure of Randy's vocal harmonies. His voice was a pillar of all those early songs! A great voice in a great band. When Glenn died, I felt the urge out of respect and tribute to go out on my usual karaoke night and sing Old 55 to honor him in my own way. I never sang that song before, and I brought myself to tears. Tonight, I feel the need to sing Take it the limit in memory to Randy!! I'll let the patrons know of my tribute to a giant in the field of music. Peace be with you my brother!!

Thank you bro for the tribute. A vital part of Randy's journey was his time with Rick Nelson's Stone Canyon Band. The band encouraged Nelson to pursue his grown-up country-rock sound. And Nelson encouraged Randy to go further into the business which eventually led to Rondstadt and the Eagles. Unfortunately for him, when Randy was in the Eagles, he had to deal with the 2 personalities that were Henley and Frey. He wasn't the first, and he was far from the last.

Hello Michael, Have been watching your channel for quite some time - with absolute pleasure - until this evening when I realized I was NOT subscribed. Very sorry but I now am a subscriber. Your insights/comments are simply excellent. Maybe like you, or maybe not, I grew up and matured musically during the early to mid 1960's being involved in several bands and at one point actually being allowed into an actual studio and recording an excellent (in my humble opinion!) album with one of the tracks actually appearing on regional charts here in the mid-west. I honestly feel that without the "British Invasion" this would not have happened. We lasted a couple of years and had, what I feel to be, the absolute finest time of my 73 year old life. Silly? No, not to me. Thank you so very much Michael! All the very best to you and all those you hold near and dear, Terry

Joe Walsh once said, when asked about Randy's reluctance to be center stage, that Randy just didn't know how good he was. RIP Randy. We'll never know what the band could have brought to us in the years they threw away. Seems like the truly great acts are so hard on themselves they just can't sustain the pace.

Take It To The Limit is the one song of his that means the most to me, from the Eagles Live cassette I had in 82-83. my granny loved it and we jammed out to it, and that memory is priceless.

Thank you for that Michael. Randy was always my favourite. I was fortunate to see him on the Hotel California Tour here in England. Very sad to hear of his passing. By the way, Deaperado has always been my favourite Eagles album too. Xx

My condolences to the Eagles band members in your loss of another member with a beautiful voice. I grew up listening to the eagles now at 63 and I really loved their music. So sorry for your loss.. ❤🙏😢
