I’ll take steen for now. I love Keegan, but didn’t think his athleticism is there for the movement in this offense. Need to be able to zone block to the second level with leverage and speed and not sure he has the feet for it. He’s great in the pass game though with a solid frame and good base.
The lack of respect we have for Zacheaus is crazy. His open field tackling and blocking ability helped both AJ and Devonta score numerous touchdowns. He also made some big catches himself.
I wanna take a second and thank both Josh and Thomas for being legit actually real reporters. They tell the facts and then give opinion. They ask important questions. Thank you Josh for being a real one
Someone ask Wright where Jaylx Hunt is on the consenus media big board? Nick Wright is a bigger Eagles hater than Skip. Skip actually gives the Eagles credit from time to time. Nick goes out of his way slander the Eagles, esspecially in 2017 and 2022.
I believe the eagles got Ross to definitely use him in the practice squad if he still can run his same speed cus the eagles have to scheme against trick hill and now Xavier worthy. So he'll would be good for quinon Mitchell to practice against and he going to suit too, so I hope he do good in the rookie training camp, that would be awesome.
I just don't see Becton as a guard. It just makes so much more sense to make him a swing tackle which we really need anyways. I think RG will come down to Steen and Keegan. It should be a good camp battle to watch. Either way, I think Stout will have whoever it is ready to play.
Makes tons of sense Penix. He’s the 2nd best QB in the draft. What players have returned from an Achilles tear? Maybe that will help you understand. Also Cousins tore Achilles on plant foot. At least Rodgers didn’t tear the plant foot.
Don’t mind Stoutland giving M Bectin looks at RG. Even putting him in there at RG for a goal line 4th and short….he’s gotta be a force just moving a pile a few yards forward.
He knows that *Howie does NOT scout, right? Does he expect everyone not to know that evaluations are not only done by regional scouts, but also THEN cross-checked/-evaluated by other scouts; then the re-evaluation occurs AT LEAST 1 more time (but likely MANY MORE times) prior to board construction, visits, & then the draft.* Are Corp Media ppl just turning into shock jocks of “old” to try & get eyes 👀 as TV dies like radio did previously. Do they think their attempts will work when radio’s didn’t? What a “take” 👎😂 esp when surrounded by MUTE “yes men” also worried abt keeping their jobs too. SMH 🤦🏻♂️
What am I missing when it comes to the Cousins Penix situation? Isn’t Cousins 36? Why are we saying “good QB play for 4-5years”? We’re looking forward to a 38-40 year old Cousins to still be a starter in this league? Why are we on the wagon of starting rookie QBs so early? The ONLY thing I fault Falcons for, is paying Cousins what they paid him. Idk the details of his contract, but I see 1-2 years with Cousins, then Penix starts. Then we complain he’ll be an old starter. Well he’ll be 26-27, but you gotta also give him the same 38-40 age that you’re currently giving a Kirk Cousins. That’s a solid 12-13 year career. No harm, no foul
Well the "good QB play" for 4-5 years might be the argument because of the length of his contract. The bigger point is though, they didn't even tell Cousins they were considering taking a QB. That can do things to the starting QB (See: Wentz when Hurts was drafted)
@@timpoley8401 Cousins is 36! What standard are we holding him to? That’s on the Falcons for paying a 36yr old 180m. Cousins doesn’t have an “upside” like Wentz had back then so that’s not a good comparison. Cousins is on his way out of the league 1-2 years.
I'm sick of the prime time games man.. they're super late and the eagles had zero consistency last year. They had like 3 1:00 games. None in a row. Then they were forced to play 3 games in 13 days.. and that 3rd game was against the 49ers, which crumbled their season
And we had hella games that Eagles played in the rain. Started the season in NE in the rain was at that game and it sucked raining that much. Great game but the rain definitely effects the way we would like to play ball
@@victorgonzalez7258Had the same exact same though last year DURING the season but never saw anyone else bring it up so figured I was just being picky and ended up just keeping it to myself😂
cutting Bradberry saves you nothing in cap dollars. it only hurts you. he will be around for a trade if there is an injury to a team with playoff aspirations. Howie does not give away something for nothing. Bradberry is still a nice depth piece. next year is a different story as the money is not important.
I agree I think he looked more then solid in the few snaps he got and now has seen action but nobody talking about him getting the starting spot.. I expect to see him week 1 at right guard
We did the same things falcons did. Paid wentz and then used a second round pick to draft hurts and look how that played out. Wentz could have used a weapon, that would have played right away and helped our offence. Nothing wrong with drafting an insurance policy especially at the Qb position. Including the fact that Kirk is coming off a major injury.
Nick Wright is missing the other side of the coin, that Howie also doesn't have many if any busts in the draft and if we are honest the draft is one huge gamble for any team.
This is gonna be an awesome season coming up. You still got the guys that got drafted last year n the year before nolan, jalen, kiwi, n this year with quin, trot Jr, dejean, all I got to say lez go BIRDS!!
I think this draft is a solid B+, close to an A-. Love Q and DeJawn, we absolutely needed to address DB, Jalyx is a very high floor, low ceiling developmental prospect, Shipley could definitely have a role this year (even tho it may be small), Anias and J Wilson are very interesting WR3 prospects, Trotter Jr I have mixed feelings about… he’s fast, he makes plays, but he’s undersized for LB. Can’t have him and Nakobe out there for a majority of snaps. I do wish we addressed TE2, and more importantly imo, oline depth. Sua and Driscoll are both gone, and I don’t love Steen as a starting RG. Could have also used some more Dline depth, if Jalynx doesn’t work out, we’re a little thin at edge. Kinda surprised we didn’t take IDL either, obviously we have Milton, Davis, and Carter, but Carter is really the only blue chip player there.
Tyler Stean played ok when he was in.....good movement and footwork....can prob get a lil stronger but overall i think he didnt do bad when given the chance
Did people forget that James Bradberry was a second team All Pro, and I think was in “top 10 in top 100 players list” in 2022? Or am I in a different reality
The Falcons Pick makes a Ton of sense. Kirk will be 36 start of the season and I believe Kirk is gd enough to take them to the playoffs or be competitive for at least 2-3 years. That will mean Min not in top 10 to pick a QB of the future so to get one now while you are not forced to start him is PERFECT TO ME! Example - Jordan Love 🤔
Totally different penix is 24 and the value of a qb from the draft is the money saved its messed up for both penix and falcons the coaches will be gone by the time he even plays it's a wasted 1st for the falcons
Lmao that would make him 28 still on a Rookie Contract - Kirk not the answer for the future. He just got paid like that because it’s always set up for him to get paid big. Plus he a Solid Starter. Many QB sat on the bench and waited - nothing different here except other ppls opinion whether it was a good pick.
Some people seem to forget there have been numerous guys who went to small schools and became stars in the NFL. "Some guy" named Jerry Rice went to Mississippi Valley State for crying out loud.
Quinyon, slay, CJGJ, and DeJean is our secondary this season! And then after slay leaves we have all those other younger guys that should be developed. Hopefully secondary is locked up for years now
Uhg, can you imagine??? Justin Jefferson an Eagle?... Howie F'd that up BIG TIME! (How he thought Reagor was better had to have brought their entire process into question.)
I just want to point out that the falcons know they are probably losing future pics for tampering with kirk cousins .so the team knows whether they tampered or not . I feel when they lose pics everyone gonna be like Atlanta was smart .and also cousins is coming off a serious injury .
You have to think about it though if we didn't take Jalen raeger we wouldn't have AJ Brown today. We would have Justin Jefferson. Now I like Justin Jefferson and all but I think AJ Brown is the better receiver overall. Justin Jefferson's more of a finesse speed guy as opposed to AJ Brown he don't care if you're right on his hip he's going to get the ball
Even if they say that saquon is gonna get hurt or he’s made of glass, I just wanna say that they said the same thing would happen to Deondre swift and look he only missed 1 game and it was sickness and not anything physical
Don’t get me wrong, I loved this year’s draft. But truthfully, it shouldn’t have taken 22 years to draft a cornerback in the first round. If he had picked a few more defensive backs over the last few years, I believe we would have won that last Superbowl.
I love AJ I hope he retires an eagle I'm really hoping to see him and Smitty for a long time together. And we need to back him every time he needs us. I don't care what the media and Sileo says about him he is going to be the best wide receiver in eagles history. Good luck to the rest of the league
Sort of agree with Nick. Howie gets a lot of credit for drafting players that the "media" projected to be higher. The whole league passed on these guys like Dean last year. Howie was a genius for getting Dean in the 3rd round and now Dean is a question mark cause of his size. I side with the majority view over the long haul. If a player "slides" most times that evaluation by the majority tends to turn out to be correct. Sometimes you get a steal but that is the exception. If Howie wins so many off-seasons why arent they winning SB at the rate like KC?
Say what you want about Bradberry. But I don’t think it makes any sense to get rid of him unless it’s a favorable trade.. but let’s be honest.. all it takes is one injury to the starters and I guarantee we will be wishing we still had that depth.. depth is what wins superbowls.. we know that first hand
Im not understanding all the Penix confusion. Regardless of if you think hes good or not, what you guys are suggesting is that the falcons operate as if Kirk is going to elevate their franchise to a SB which, lets be real, he isnt. That said, it absolutely makes sense to take a QB if you believe that he can be the guy for your future otherwise you are surrounding KIRK COUSINS with talent that hes going to waste. Even more so you talk about how hard it is to get into the top 10, that is even MORE reason to take a QB if you feel he can be the guy for you. Again whats lost is this is everyone is acting like Kirk is the kind of QB that you have to keep around. Let Penix sit and develop, they can move on from Kirk after this season if they wanted to, so what exactly is the big deal.
20 + years Eagles fan....finally someone who doesn't think Howie is a God! It's the truth he is at best ok, at drafting. How many times did other teams jump Howie to get potential starters in latter rounds?
I'm ok with him beein just ok with the draft cause he makes up for it with his cap numbers and trades... He doesn't lose trades and maximizes cap space
