@geraldinemccormick8635 Life continues.. like King Charles had a garden party, while it's almost 5 months since Princess of Wales wasn't able to resume royal duties. Earl Spencer has always been supportive of his sisters, and he might have good reason for not letting her live on his estate .Probably because they are almost staying within the same surrounding areas with the Royal Family,and they are also nobility, and his sister was probably still married to Prince Charles .However, Earl Spencer has been there with his family and siblings at his sister's memorial and funeral, which he ensured that she was buried at the Spencer Estate .He was also there with his nephews, Prince William and Prince Harry, for the unveiling of the statue of his late sister. He always supports his nephews .Some people like you never see the good in others will also want to find fault where there is none. I bet you are an angel, but we all know that no one is perfect. As much as we strive for perfection as humans, we have sometimes been found wanting, and that doesn't give anyone to point a finger without having facts .

Earl Spencer seems like a really nice man. I know there have been stories that don't support that thought. However, whenever he speaks, he presents as an interesting, decent and kind human being.

He repainted bought home back to as it was. But their was repating of relationship the new wife Diana her got over forgiving became close with daily chats. When their dad sick( her name i forget wasnt she a Cartland!?!? )was there for him shoeing her love help repair riff. But a incredinle history. Think, wonder his book, his docos good, would be interesting biography. Up down what families dont have.. just costs to kepping that,the estates how he does it be interesting. Now recent marriage of a daughter,he not there sure the curiosity the why. He soft spoken man calm sure of himself.

He is such a well formed gentelman. Its so nice to listen to him. We loved the stories , he is telling. And, we respect so much his ancestors stories from the very aristrocrats families from England , part of the History of the world. I remember his father said he was very honoured Princess Diana was going to serve their Queen, when she married prince Charles, long ago. Earl Spencer, Besides, and with all respect, he remains us our beloved Lady Diana, because of some body language. 😥 . We wish the best for him and his family.

For me it's exciting to know that there are people (like myself) who are fascinated with ancient and medieval history as well as modern history. It would be a shame if ancient and medieval history got religated to the dust bin as being irrelevant in a world that is enamored with technology to the exclusion of all else. Thank you for this interview with Earl Spencer. I knew he had some interest in history, but I thought it only focused on that which pertained to his family. Now, I know that he is deeply interested and an author, also. I'll have to look into this book and any of his other writings. Thank you again for the good news. 😊

Of course Charles Spencer had such a marvelous marriage with Victoria - it seems that virtually everything Diana accused Windsor of supposedly doing during her marriage her brother did to his young wife. Sitting in the bath, just after Victoria came home from hospital telling her he had 12 'relationships' while she was away from home. And she wasn't to consider going to Diana's funeral - he had already promised to take his latest squeeze - which went down really well at St Paul's. Imagine being told what a terrible husband/family you are when he made such a mess of his own life - then having to accompany Diana on her last journey with Charles Spencer & his 'squeeze'. Emigrating to South Africa to avoid the British press was a really good idea until he found out that in SA divorces are not heard in a closed court - it wasn't just the hated British press who reported as to what an appalling husband he was

I cannot forget Charles Spencer DENIED Princess Diana returning to Althorp to live there after the divorce. SHE was VERY VULNERABLE and NEEDED HELP. Quietly resting, sleeping to get a grip on what happened (especially after surrendering her sons to half-custody). Just being with her family for the time she needed, she would have benefitted from that get-away from her sad surroundings and it might have helped her get better, improved and cleared her mind. But No. Charles did NOT think of his sister’s welfare. Was that love? Or arrogance?

@@Doris-bs9mm He did deny her a place to stay. Stated press intrusion. That's the reason she ended up having that fling with Dodi, it was somewhere to be. This has been noted by genuine royal reporters and friends and Charles'own admission of denying the property to her. As far as "losing custody" of kids, only to a certain extent as they were of immediate royal lineage - that's all.

Interestingly enough, he thinks Princess Charlotte looks like Diana. Charlotte is very pretty. His sister, Diana was plain looking as a little girl, and as an adult, albeit her looks were enhanced by tons of makeup.

Very well done nice to meet part of a distinguished old English family who honored life and held dearly together in the highest level of life. I love listening to Earl Spencer and his beautiful voice❤. He seems very aristocratic and classy. A lot like Prince Harry. Maybe Prince Harry has found his "true" family - people who will look forward to Prince Harry, Prr visit and watching their babies grow. This is a lovely channel., also❤️.

It's a brother that loves the sister and protector I have a kind of brother. I understand him and I love the way that he tried to be supportive with. He's nephew's. It's wonderful nothing bad to say about him. He seems very educated anacknowledgeable through the history of his family and the Royals. I don't remember. If I thought that we was part of then well, somebody will correct me.

Does he refer to the "Blanche Nef" that sank near Barfleur with the only son of King Henri 1 duke of Normandy and King of England and others? I saw Charles Spencer once with his two younger children On Wimbledon common flying a toy helicopter with them. He was very tall and handsome. I took a few pics discretely.....

I REALLY enjoy Lorraine's show. However, I have to mention that she is VERY hard to understand. I generally love accents, but one should not have to strain to listen. Please don't shoot the messenger!!!! Charles wasn't a very nice brother to Diana. She wanted to come visit her old home, Althorp, that Charles Spencer has inherited in August 1997. He said "No." He did not want to deal with the paparazzi that she would bring. Diana, Princess of Wales, had no plans, so she accepted an invitation from Dock Al-Fayed to cruise and then go on to Paris. Well, we all know the rest is history. I cannot imagine the guilt that Charles Spencer could have felt. Hence the incredible eulogy at her funeral. (Absolutely stunning speech... Can still bring tears to my eyes.) Interesting that he writes of an accident that changed Royal history. He was certainly party to one of the most famous.

A huge “fan” of Charles Earl of Spencer. I hope I got that correct. A very private school is ten times the read. Read them both and others he has written. Do not wait for this recent book to come out in paperback. The upper class boarding schools in the uk have nothing on the residential schools that the First Nations were sent to here in North America. Though TB and food scarcity brought other challenges. I’m shocked to find out, children that came from such wealthy families got away with this. With my own experience of how children were treated during that time, I have no reason to disbelieve the great Earl of Spencer. I’m glad he exposed this. It needed to be done. He needed some other collaborators so Maidwell could not contest this. Buy the book!

The Spencers have always tried to be supportive of Diana’s sons, even though William did not return their efforts to reach out. Harry did and he is very close to them. I don’t blame him for not talking to much about Lillibet, mainly because he was there for something else and the host tried to sneak that in. Both of his sisters flew to California for Lillibet’s christening. They support in their own quiet way, not looking for fanfare.
