i like it but the entire thing was already performed live so it makes this album feel a little off seeing as its 10 tracks, 1 being out as a snippet and 3 being singles. so nearly half the album was already available

except the cordae album isn't actually "sick". coming from a big cordae fan too.

This is the first Earl album I’ve listened to and it didn’t really resonate with me, some good songs, especially 2010, but it didn’t connect with me. It just felt off the whole time

@@nbabackcourtmedia i didn’t really start to like most of his stuff after 2015 until after a few relistens of each of those projects and I’m a huge earl fan. His first three projects, EARL, Doris, and I Don’t Like Shit I Don’t Go Outside, have more of a mainstream appeal while also being very unique projects which is what I came to expect from him then he released his album which is considered by most of his fans to be his best and it’s also his most experimental called Some Rap Songs and I immediately heard it and thought what the hell is this shit earl. This ain’t the fire music I was expecting from you but then I relistened to it and I realized hey this shit is pretty good and more and more relistens and suddenly it’s my favorite album of all time. His albums are so jam packed with deep poetic messages that it’s pretty much impossible to digest them on the first listen and I noticed that with SICK! as well. If you want to get into his discog I would recommend starting with his earlier stuff and working your way up and it’ll ease you into his more experimental style as they just get more and more experimental as they go. If you say listen to one of his albums twice and really take it in and you aren’t captivated by it though Earl just prolly ain’t for you and that’s alright. Everyone has their tastes.

I feel like srs was super jarring in comparison to I don’t like shit, at least sonically. Earl probably needed to get that out to be able to progress to where he was when he dropped this

There’s def more of a balance but his audience has rocked with his previous works heavy his sound is just more polished now

I hope he doesn’t rely to much on finding an equal balance, what made srs so good was the vulnerability and 100% himself he expressed on that album

I actually really didn’t like vermin at all. Like I get what he was going for, I jus didn’t think it fit. I can see him doing darker music like that but I jus don’t think that style suits him.

It’s not for everyone but I encourage you to just give it time. For most it clicks. It saved my life and I mean that.

SRS my favorite earl album hands down, maybe favorite album of all time.. feet of clay didn’t hit for me as much, I dug a couple tracks off it but I love the new direction on Sick
