I believe nerd girl forgot about second part of her commander" "Whenever Hakbal of the Surging Soul attacks, you may put a land card from your hand onto the battlefield. If you don't, draw a card." she had two lands in second swing 15:08 so she couild play one from commander and second from "one land for turn"

great game! and man, from the games ive seen from the LCI precons, the decks aren't too balanced, (maybe its luck) but the merfolk deck is by far the most synergistic and powerful. As maldhound says, and I love this: "Wet Elves"

Great game! The only thing I'll say is around 20mins or so, veggie plays a mountain, then the corsair captain, then the windfall and then before combat he plays a swamp. 2 lands on 1 turn.

I took apart my merfolk deck because it was too easy for it to win on its own without me making a single hard decision and then we returned to Ixalan and got a metric ton of new support so I'm not surprised by this outcome in the slightest.

So far most of the games I saw of the precons are the same: the simic goes nuts from turn 1 and becomes archenemy, the Dino catch up and become degenerate, the pirates do its thing but is forgettable and the vampire merely does anything due to lack of removal/card draw/ ramp so if you consider playing the vampire because you are an orzhov main like me, I would suggest adding more ramp, removal and card draw and even a little bit of soft stax could help.

This game felt like it was in reach at one point for everyone. Dino discovery did not disappoint but I was pulling for Maldhounds Twilight deck. Wet elves made explore look fun too. Pirates...had windfall with lag. Ggs
