HERE YOU WILL SEE MY *EARLY ARRIVAL* VIDEO OF THE FDNY BATTLING A 3RD ALARM FIRE IN A VACANT CAR DEALERSHIP ON HILLSIDE AVENUE IN THE JAMAICA AREA OF QUEENS IN NEW YORK CITY.
Excellent coverage. The way you covered this made it very exciting. And man O man you need a breathing apparatus cause all that smoke can't be good for you. Thanks for all your efforts. 👍👍
John. Your videos are incredible. You do such a great job. Nothing but the most extraordinary respect for all of these men. My Dad was with the FDNY for 33 years (E75/L33/B19). My love for the FDNY never waivers.
Excellent work on providing videos tonight, and always. What a night in Queens. All the best and lots of rest to you and the FDNY crews who were super busy overnight. Thank you everyone for your service.
amazing video.. been watching your firefighter first responders videos for some time now..i always feel as if I'm on scene as well.... much respect and love to all our real heroes, our first responders... thanks so so much for your dedication to filming our heroes in action..as always be safe
Once again you are amazing at this! I have no idea how you do it but you seem to get all angles just at the right time. Thank you so much for giving your time and effort so that we can see these wonderful firefighters at work. Please be careful and take care of yourself. And again thank you ❤️
Thank you so much for all your hard work compiling such interesting & informative videos. I had no idea how a large fire with multiple units attending, was organised. It’s like a very well choreographed dance. It’s fascinating understanding how it all comes together with the firefighters safety being paramount & how that’s achieved. Its great to see up close how the command centre operates. I have so much more admiration for all the Members. Are you an ex-fireman? Deirdre
John, incredible footage from both fires. I could almost feel the heat. You were right on all the critical points at both fires. The side 4 Exposure on the 5th alarm, and the second floor fire extension on the car dealer. As always a fantastic job of catching all the action. Stay safe out there brother and thanks for your great work 👍🇺🇸
Another good one on your part John. You try to get every angle possible. Having been an active volunteer firefighter for 43 years I love the different aspects of fighting a stubborn fire like this one. Keep it up because you are second to none.
This was great stuff squad 99 haven’t watched your first one but hat’s off to the members and tower ladders and right across from the fire house and the 2nd floor was lit they hit it and it would just comeback unbelievable!!
Outstanding coverage all nite! Hmmmnnn.... empty building= no rent, post covid 🧐, ripping fire, my guess - 'lightning' 🔥⚡ Hope you're back home getting some well deserved rest.😵 Brothers did a great job as always.👍
Another crazy day in the life of the NYFD. It's always interesting to watch TV shows about fire departments and watch them use their power saws to go thru a door, or a fence or a roof and how fast the saw works, then you watch the NYFD crews fight with doors or fences or roofs to cut thru them. All the drama and none of the reality on the TV shows. I applaud the NYFD and ALL the work they do. Never a dull moment!!
Nice catch JJ great narration by you and radio comms. Close call for those brothers getting out that window. Thanks for the long nite, great work and for sharing,, It's not unappreciated
Well hot damn John Wayne! Two multiples in one night, and only 6 minutes apart. The urban renewal folks got busy, if you know what I mean. Great video JJ. I love seeing the FDNY at work.
This is not the first time I have seen in your videos an evacuation order is given, and everyone basically ignores it. So many FFers not on air on that balcony. Also, PASS alerts going off constantly. Thats a sound you shouldn’t be numb too.
Great footage again John well done, but what those 2 guys did after a evac was stupid, blocking ppl wanting too go down and then standing on that balcony doing nothing but being in the way again, the Chief needs a little talk with them.
God loves Firefighters…especially those on the second floor who weren’t evacuating anywhere until assured their buddies were safe. Just like Soldiers - Leave No One Behind.
Wow John, I went to bed and you went to yet another big fire. Stay safe. Seems like the buildings in NY are burning down almost as fast as the economy. Rough times.
JJ what's up with Queens they are going to take the name away Brooklyn borough of fire. Nice video were you there before some of the first due units on the 75.
WELL, I GOT THERE TO THE 2ND FIRE AS SOME OF THE UNITS WERE STILL COMING IN LOUIE.....IT HAS BEEN BAD WITH FIRES AROUND HERE LATELY.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
Hey John: You arrived at about the same time as the FDNY brothers. You were walking with the brothers. WHOA, this one was a nail biter. An A+++ video production for this night. Good for you, and for Pete's sake BE CAREFUL out there on the job !!!
I HEAR DAVID! I WAS 5 MINUTES OUT LEAVING FROM THE OTHER FIRE WHEN THEY TRANSMITTED THIS ONE! I WILL BE CAREFUL AND YOU AS WELL DAVID.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
Well, my heart was in my throat!! Those members on the 2nd floor “balcony” have some ‘splainin’ to do to the Chief!! One of the members inexplicably took off his helmet and hood just exactly when the flames licked their nasty tongues right above his head!! Luckily Lad!! Have a nice hot toddy and 12 hours sleep 🤞🏼👍🏼
I was hoping you'd have video of this fire. I saw it announced on fire wire on Facebook and saw the firefighters jumping through the window! Be careful out there!
I never heard a 2nd alarm transmitted either, and I was focusing on the radio transmissions. From what I can tell they skipped the 2nd alarm altogether and jumped right to a 3rd alarm. Okay now that is scary. You have the chief commanding all members to evacuate, fire flashing over, and not only are the members very slow to evacuate, but a lot are also not answering comms. This was an extremely dangerous situation, and I'm sure the chief was very not happy about it.
John I comment on most of your videos in a positive manner. This scene was a tuff fire but when you got command evacuating the building and then you have members climbing up the ladder and just standing there doing nothing then one guy takes his protective gear off and almost gets torched when the fire flashed over out the window. Those members clogged up the evacuation of that balcony and second floor. A few people need an ass chewing cause that could have went real bad. Brother your the best at what you do take care and be safe. Greg
Big fires so close with old warehouse style buildings. Chief is going to do some talking to. Not listening to the Chief. I though big flash over with the boys and girls still on roof. Great coverage as always. JJ time to regroup and rest 🇺🇲🇺🇲🚒
Another great job, sometimes I think your crazy getting so very close to the fires and other times I know you are. I don't understand why you don't carry a filter'ed face mask to block some of that smoke, anyway don't mind me, I love your videos! be safe.
Hi from Iowa. I'm a couple of days late, was anyone hurt in this? You may have said something, but I don't hear very good and may have missed it. THANKS for the awesome vid's!!
Gotta give credit where it is due. NYC sends plenty of equipment and manpower to do everything humanly possible to fight fire. Living in the suburbs of Dallas Tx I can see where fire fighters have a very hard time there. They do a great job protecting the people of the city.
Andrew, 10-75 indicates that all hands are going to work. We called it a working fire at my department. It lets all incoming companies know that they will be going to work immediately upon arrival. Serious fire situation.
DANG MAJ ! I DONT UNDERSTAND MYSELF ! ORDERED EVERONE OUT, HAD MEMBERS GOING UP THE GROUND LADDER ! CHIEF GONNA CHEW THAT A## ! COULD TELL BY YOUR VOICE, NOT A GOOD SITUATION ! "TOP SHELF ! 🇺🇲
So far great video as usual. They should of just cut the clips on the fence. Two holding horz and a few on each vert side. I'm not there and have no adrenaline rushing so maybe I should of not made comment. If I'm correct i hope i pointed something good out. I have seen this situation on videos from other channels also
Chauffeur is the FDNY term for the Driver/ pump operator of the apparatus. Some departments call this the “engineer” position, and some call it the MPO “ Motor Pump Operator”. For engines, they manage the water supplies, and pump pressures in the hose lines, and for Aerial apparatus they typically drive and operate the aerial device.
Chauffeur is the rig drivers. Engine chauffeur hooks up to hydrant and regulates water pressure…truck chauffeur operates any hydraulic ladder or bucket but also goes into fire.
Just a question…I wonder why there are so many firemen just seeming to stand around doing nothing. I’m not a firefighter and I don’t know procedures. Can anyone enlighten me please? Great videography by the way.
BC kilduf Wondering if any relation to chief of department several years back. Many out of borough companies at this scene I guess due to most local units being at previous 5th alarm incident . Maybe even from house across the street.
