Agarwala et al report that in babies with early-onset epileptic encephalopathy, after comprehensive metabolic, neuroradiological and genetic evaluation, the most common cause is an underlying genetic defect. Children with vitamin responsive epilepsies had the best probability of seizure control and good long term neurodevelopmental outcome.
