I was up at silly o'clock to have a quick bass session in the back waters behind Milford Shingle Bank. I was treated to a stunning sunrise and a million geese!

Magical early morning fishing, can't beat it. I fish that spot a lot in early spring for some great Bass fishing, it's also an excellent kayak fishing area..

Yes, spring is my favourite time to fish it. Once the crab start moulting it can be brilliant.

Nice one! After many years of looking over the bank and saying that’s worth a try one day.. I finally did and for the last couple of years has become a firm favourite and yes go lighter. My PB bass 60cm was from there on a 11’ 30-60g great fun. Cheers as always

Another good video. That spot is great for bass, and sheltered from the weather when conditions are rougher. I’m surprised more people don’t fish there, as opposed to the other side of the bank.

I'm going to have to try circle hooks ! Am still apprehensive!! Two questions on them? is there a brand your recommended ? And do you sharpen your hooks of they get blunted or just change them ?

I never sharpen hooks. They're more than sharp enough straight from the pack, but I also never reuse hooks. My favourite circle hook is the Tronixpro T25 Octopus, link in the description.

One more question please ?? On your video black bream fishing you use standard J hooks , have you used circle hooks for bream and they just dont work aswell? Thank you

I've had mixed results with bream to be honest. Having said that I very rarely get deeply hooked bream when using normal wormer hooks, so the need for circles isn't there.
