I know how you feel. I will retire in 2027 also in December as well. I have reached the $1M but I need to have my house paid off by that date. We can do this together. Excited is an understatement. We have this!!!!
If I would have had this goal to pay off my home in 22 more months...I definitely would have skipped out on going to Ireland which has costs approximately $7K.
Have a stretch goal to have our mortgage paid by Christmas 2025! But my realistic goal is Christmas of 2026! Figure that would be an amazing gift for the whole family. If we can meet the stretch goal then 2026 we take a fantastic trip with what would have been mortgage payments. But please believe we will take the trip regardless in 2027🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
That will be the MOST amazing gift!!! And that's what I'm talking about - not having to pay off things truly lets us feel what working should be about - a way to pay for our pleasures and not these pains (aka bills).
I love that you picked your 50th Birthday to pay off your mortgage!! I have picked various Birthday milestones for something special and I can't tell you what I did or got myself. I thought I would remember but I don't, lol. Paying off a mortgage is something you will NEVER forget!!!! I had to get a new house this year, but my target date is 2027 to have it paid off before I retire. This gave me new motivation and I thank you.
This is so huge! I cannot wait to see what your budgets look like once your mortgage is gone. Here’s to the countdown! Hopefully your bday will be my debt free date too (non mortgage).
Hello Tinesha that’s awesome you are close to paying off your home. That’s great you paid off the purple mattress. You love to travel , I am sure it’s in your budget.Do what’s comfortable for you.💜🌸
I’m going to pay off my mortgage by the time I turn 50 too!!❤🎉 I love this!! I got time though to formulate a plan! I’ll be 44 in December! My mortgage is the only debt I have!😊
Hello. I just started watching your channel. plan on having my mortgage paid early next year. I like to hear other people's mortgage payoff journeys. Good luck 🙏 on paying off your mortgage.
Love the video, I will be cheering you on to reaching your goal paying off your mortgage on June 2026.😊 I need to set a goal for me to reach to kept motivation going!
Congrats on the mortgage freedom goal, having an end date definitely changes the game!! Ugh at the changes to the Marcus account, I still haven't gotten around to calculating the new rate, but I guess less interest earned is less taxes to be paid as well, so that 0.25% is really free money compared to the extra 1%
@@FunandBudget I think I saw that if the referral was completed during the 1% period (before July 2024) they were still gonna honor it, but as a statement credit instead of as interest. which would be basically the same money, but less earned interest. but i haven't gotten around to calculating yet to see if i got 1% or .25.
Hey girl heyyy!! I really enjoy watching your journey to paying off your home,T!!! I'm just going to keep working towards paying off my 1st home as well. Awesome video 🎉❤
Good idea! I am slow walking my car debt because rate is super low. I only owe $5500, with an April 2025 payoff. Once I have last payment left, I will stop the auto transfer and go to the credit union to make the last payment. Then take myself out to lunch or get a massage.
When you pay additional payment or send the 500 after a few days of sending your mortgage payment, how can you make sure that all goes to principal payments?
When sending anything additional to the mortgage - You must choose 'principal only' payment. Different banks will have different ways that this is done (my bank has a check box and then it asks for the Principal Only Amount) so make sure you understand the way your bank does this.
I have been watching your videos since you were going through your tenant evictions. Life happens to us as we are on our way to freedom from worrying about a paycheck. Your goal of paying off your house is a good goal but not great. Your budgets are good but not great. Your net worth Is good but not great according to what you make. Don’t look back one day and say I could have done better with that great income. You make enough to become a billionaire in your life time. Get big goals and reach for the stars. Paying off a mortgage is not an asset it is a liability, giving all that money away. Travel is great while you are healthy enough to enjoy it but with moderation. You are losing the investment power of that money. Live big spending someone else’s money not yours. Get a great financial coach who will tell you where the leaks are so you can move a little faster. You are still thinking immediate gratification and it is keeping you in a nine to five job that can fail any day.
@@MaxxBosket i understand where you are coming from...but im not in this life to chase a billion dollars that im never going to spend. Im in this life to have meaningful experiences with meaningful people in comfort and free from as many stressors as possible. And yes theres always room for improvement but I'm happy and to me that is GREAT.
@@FunandBudget Happiness is fleeting. I know I am in my 70’s and more happy than I ever been. However, I did it by spending creditors Money not mind. Peace of mind I have knowing I never have to work again is a GOD sent.
@@MaxxBosket But you do realize that I don't have to work if I don't want to either. But what I have realized is working is not the enemy - feeling like you have no say over your time is. By the time I am 70 - not only will I not have to work, but I will still be able to live in travel the same way I do today - that will be my blessing. And yes I will still be happy because for me it is not fleeting (money is) - for me when you place your priorities in the right place and know what really matters for your life..."happiness" will be more consistent. I am happy and it doesn't depend on me having a billion or even a million dollars.
