The whole soundcloud thing doesn't make any sense. On pages like REV people pay for translate their material, audios, videos or texts that THEY GIVE YOU, you don't receive money for translating or listening random audios from soundcloud or anywhere

I live in UAE and I tried to sign up with Rev but unfortunately they don't accept applications from UAE. So not all counties are eligible with Rev.

The idea of this video is great in theory. However, it is not as clear cut as it is presented. I signed up for Rev and GoTranscript, both have waiting periods to get approved. With Rev you may not get approved at all and with GoTranscript you have to take Two Test to qualify, then that takes 30 days to be approved. I will see what other options there are in your videos, Thank You.

You showed all of the steps, except for how to get the link downloaded from SoundCloud, or how to enter the URL in the website and have the website fetch the file. Also, on the translate job, I didn't see a prompt for translating from audio, only from documents. Could you show those steps and demonstrate that they work? Otherwise you have several steps to download files which you didn't mention...

hi Athena, great question, i'm happy to help you out! so regarding the download of the music, you are going to use o transcribe to generate a transcription of a song, you're going to use soundcloud to find the music in other languages, and you're going to use the next website (az lyrics) to find the lyrics for that song, and then that you have the name of the song and the transcribed translated lyrics you can sell them to rev website :)

You can't copy-paste SoundCloud link to oTranscribe by doing what you did in the video, you need to have downloaded that specific song to your computer to be able to upload. Or I'm just an idiot?

Otranscribe does not transcribe your file for you. It's just tool that helps with your transcription. Am I missing something?

So the current wait time to be accepted into Rev is 4 to 12 weeks. Also you don’t just pick whatever you want to transcribe. You have to pick from their market place. Not as easy as your video describes.

Living in the middle east, I am only offered to translate instead of transcribe, they say theyre no longer accepting in my location. Seems that only 10 countries are allowed to transcribe, the others are only given the option to translate subtitles into another language.

I found the music and the lyrics, but I don't get the link between that and rev. I can't imagine going to rev and telling them that I want to submit a certain song to transcribe. It doesn't make sense to me, and just the tests a person has to pass to even get their foot in the door is not easy.
