Back when Tony Stewart first showed up in nascar I thought he was a pretty straight up driver. He didnt take or tolerate stupid shit from other drivers, interviewers, or anybody no matter who they were. Some folks labeled him as a hardass but if you're driving in nascar thats what keeps a roof over your head, food on your plate and your family provided for. When youre in that car, youre on the clock. Anyone who wouldnt take that seriously shouldnt be in a race car.
So anyone who says what they think and isn't afraid to bump others on the track is "being Dale Sr"? Tony was just being Tony. Still is. If he was pretending to be someone else that would have been exposed a long time ago.
That was a stupid question, and I was never even a Tony fan! Tony's right, the drivers are racing around the track as fast as they can on the ragged edge hanging on for dear life. They're not thinking at any given moment oh, are we making are quota of crashes that will make the fans happy today? Come on man!
Such a strange notion.... If MAGA were a sport it would be NASCAR. Somehow it is motorsport for people unfamiliar with motorsport. Noisy, visceral and yet completely vacuous and pointless.
