Hey Drae, cut the gold bars in half with the hand saw before melting them together that way they fit in the cauldron easier!!!!!

A tip I learned recently : If you pick up the crucible and use the "place here" mechanic, you can sweep it over bars or nuggets and they stick to the outside of the crucible. But then, when you put the crucible on the forge, they all end up melted together in the crucible. Saved me hours of trying to drop those bars carefully into the crucible!

Instead of stacking the ram drills, have you tried making entire drill floors complete with grinders for each level. Your first worked almost flawlessly alone. Try duplicating it and having the gold fall in the 2x2 funnel in the middle.

Suggestion: build a better filter system so the drills don’t break down as fast

they should make a online mode for this and everyone has their own town and can trade

suggestion: mirror the tower and feed the nuggets from the other tower(s) into the conveyor system so they are all collected in the same place. you've got a lot of claim to work with.

(*Please read the whole thing*) How about having the dirt go into the center of your tower, that way you won't have to worry about banking dirt back and forth all the way down. You also won't need to worry about blocking your other drills, and a blockage in the center will be way easier to clear and won't compromise your whole system. And don't use grinders in the center if you decide to use this idea.(one more thing if you dont want the dirt colliding midair than build a plus shape design all the way down the middle to make four separate shoots for your dirt, this design should word for as many stories as you want if you put the drills right along the hole, the drills will act as the fourth wall of its corresponding chute and keep every bit of dirt in the shoot, and it should be very easy to clear if you would even get a blockage. Like I said if you do get a blockage than that only shuts down one drill column and not the whole system.)(also again you could put ramps over your bottom drills, they'll fall straight down onto the grinders while the ones above hit the center piler, bounce on the drills ramp, than onto the ramp on the bottom and roll on the grinders you could even add more drills to your existing first floor since they aren't flying through air anymore... now that I'm thinking about it that might solve your problem completely and allow you to build straight up even adding more drills to each floor, but my first idea is still valid and has merit to be considered, you could even build a new tower off both these ideas and get the best of both worlds) Please like I want him to see this.

My vote goes to keeping it one level of ram drills since you reached optimum performance. From there, you should work on filter placement so that it doesn't break down at all, with a goal of leaving it to run independently while you game elsewhere. Imagine letting it run for hours and you return and there's no real issue.

Okay, so an improvement you can make to your system is running a line rather than a ring/square, which will allow for a decent amount of expansion both vertically AND horizontally. Setting the ram drills in groups of four and having pressure tanks between each group will keep the pressure high as well as the output, and will help prevent processed nuggets from catching on the slanted pieces. Additionally, having a filter bank may be beneficial for a large-scale build like I just offered. A filter bank is where you have sixteen filters fed from one incoming line and going to one output. Each set of four filters works independently of the others, allowing for easier repairs and optimal filtering; even if three separate filters break down, you still have four filters going and your system still runs. You can throw a pressure tank at the output end of the bank to make sure that the water goes through the filters and out to your machines.

Suggestion to improve the system: Have a similar setup to the bottom but have each level shoot its gold into that middle column that is hallow so it falls to the bottom collector. So the bottom level stays how it is but the 2nd, 3rd, etc. Has 8 harvesters pointing their outputs to the middle to drop their gold down the center. That way you can maintain the set amount of drills, dirt input, per level which has proven to be stable.

Instead of going up go longways upwards doesn't work very well so increasing it by the side should make it work better and produce more

Just checked when you uploaded another vid for months and you uploaded the one I wanted!

An easy way to place dirt for ram drills, is to put a foundation block under where you want the drill and place a shovel on-top the foundation in the middle. you can remove the foundation then and the drill will place fine on the dirt and work perfect.

Still waiting for a system with the goliath drills. Also, you could put a grinder with every drill. The gold doesn't form clumps.

Go up a few levels and do the same layout as the good level, but have the grinders drop the gold in to the center hole. You'd probably need to go up a good bit higher to have the space. But your bottom system is perfect, so why not copy it!

Go for the going higher thing with the tower, just space out the second row to be one ram drill higher than just stacking the rows one right above the other. So the spacing may possibly allow for less to blockages due to timings hopefully no blockages. I believe when it comes to something like the blockages, it also comes down to timing, not just trajectory of the object.

i have used the same auto smelting system with only the tube designs with the crucible on a tin plate with the forge underneath

if you move the drills 1 more unit out and have more busters it might help with the clumping and allow for even more drills

Alright Drae. So my idea was to use the middle section of the mine to catch the middle section ores. While this would likely reduce your output from what you have now, I believe it might work out.

Try something similar to this, but longer and narrower. A single layer of drills that is 8 long shooting into a 1 or 2 wide row of crushers and processors (i forget what they are, they turn dirt into gold) dropping material into a series of conveyors that end up in a sorting system

I would try to expand to the side. Like a second tower next to your first one, but use the same sort mechanism.

To combine the bars, USE THE SAW to make them smaller, then put the smaller parts in the cauldron.

If you have a ram drill with it’s own grinder so that the dirt can be broken down without any interference from other drills, then that would probably work best without clogs. Resources seem to not cause blockages and a grinder seems to be able to handle a ram drill without many problems.

If you want to add more layers, instead of just adding more ram drills and pushing all that dirt through a single set of harvesters, you could alternate layers of harvesters and ram drills, and have all the valuables fall down the chute in the middle, that way it’s less likely to clog the system at the bottom.

Turn the grinderbelts around and have the grinders direktly under the drills. Or even have the grinder belts under the drills and let the dirt first drop on a belt, so its fed onto the grinders and if they collide they do so before the grinder belts. So the grinders breaks down the big before it hits the grinder hopfully only leting smaller pieces fall to the grinder. This will give every row of drills thier own dedicated grinder/belt. And if you end up going even bigger it might help to put in grinder belts now and then to break them down somewhat. Or having another row of grinders higher up and all grinders shooting into the center column.

What you should do is use that center square as another funnel. Make another layer above that and then have them funnel into the center area so they arent all bunching up on the first layer.

Put the walls in front of the top and bottom drills so they drop straight into the grinders. Then walls under those walls at an angle to stop blow out from the grinders themselves recycling the blow out nuggers back into the grinders. This should prevent funnel blockage

Drae, instead of the downwards slope going to the single line of conveyors feeding the sorter, why not just add a floor of conveyors facing towards that single line? The pieces will fall and always move towards the sorter, instead of causing major lag by clumping on the slopes

If you want to combine gold bars I found that if you put your crucible near the end of the truck you can use the edge of the bed of the truck to tip them enough to fit inside the crucible

Idea for your tower. Instead of putting drills immediately on top of the other drills, make a floor (ie first stable ram drill setup), make another floor (ie a duplicate of the stable ram drill setup, grinders and all) but have the gold, iron, shards and gems drop into the center rather then straight down.

Just a heads up drae blitz makes about 80-100k per clean out

You could probably stack it to infinity (or whatever the vertical build limit might be) if you put an entire additional system including the harvesters on top and just let all the gold and stuff from that system fall through the hole between the center walls of the first system. Yes, it would take a lot of space and work but it should theoreticly work just as well as the system did with one row of drills only with twice the output of course.

So I want to see you expand the tower system, but I have an idea for a more stable system that you could build as large as you want. Remove the two rows of only two drills then move the remaining sides closer (creating a V with the roof ramps) and leave everything else the same. Then you can create a LONGER system instead of taller that should theoretically still work.

I imagine that the most efficient system should be simplest. Just have each ram drill feed directly into its harvester with walls between each pair. You shouldn't even need a grinder as no dirt should be able to combine unless it gets stuck on the hopper. After that, you should be able transport the gold, iron, etc however you want with slopes or conveyors. The key is just having each ram drill - harvester pair isolated until you reach its unstackable output. If you want to keep making a tower, you could stack the ram drill - harvester pairs with the outputs leading into the center. It would just require twice as many harvesters as your current system. In theory, this should work and be infinitely tile-able, but who knows what the physics have to say about it? Anyway, I hope this helps!

you could replace the slants/rooves on the inside with conveyr belts

just try one thing to remove funnels I have been using roof as funnel and windows as the down tunnel so dirt dont get out.

u know u could just segment the drills have them in small containers that fall onto the gronders then they go into the funnels it will allow more drills u may miss out on 4 or u can do all of them and it shouldnt clump although u will need way more wallls

use a funnel when you drop the bar into the smelting pot it might turn the bar the right way

use dirt to center the nugs before they go into the sorters and they wont get stuck as much or come out the wrong sorter

You should run it all in a long expandable line dropping onto a straight conveyor belt can run the system on both sides of the conveyor belt for as long as you want to go

If u put a second funnel on the funnel forge pot thing then it won’t bounce out of the crucible

use a saw to combine bars. If you chop them up, they will fit into the crucible.

You can build another one of this one floor towers next to the one that you already have so that you get more gold without a problem

i guess you just need to add more grinders on the second raw, maybe in the center and then facing outward so the pieces will fall on the other grinders. I'm not playing this gamee so i'm not sure but an idea is an idea right ?

Instead of building up vertically you should extend the whole thing horizontally ( just have a long line of drills using the same gravity fed concept)

Use the second layer only as a turbo, like, it's not meant to be working 200% for long but it can go 200%, for testing

your dirt blockages come from resting dirt that is still in the air when you turn off the system.. and it kinda gets "stuck" its the 1 second while airborn from the drill while not processed then off..
