Tom Gately thanks man, I did run the real thing for over 20 yrs..... I set this up like the real ones but its a bit harder to make this model smooth. rc4wd put a hydraulic pump on steroids in this and its hard to keep it smooth. wedico makes an rc excavator that you can just pull levers and it stays smooth but not near as much power as this excavator.
thanks man! this excavator and area has changed completely for the better. my area is huge now and the excavator is all detailed out and I made a auto quick bucket connect and several different buckets for it. I hope you check the newer videos out, there are over 27,000 of them. take care.
I built an aluminum frame and got 2 wal mart $20 crawlers and took the axles and wired in a dual motor esc and got a scissor lift for the dump bed. I put in all the electronics, then put a body from a cheap wal mart hummer truck and cut down a bed from a hobby tron dumper to a decent size for this truck and put it all together. the truck looks pretty stupid but its 6 wheel drive and can lift well over a full bed of stone with 4 bricks on top and no strain. this truck looks bad but works great!
oh..... well the excavator is from rc4wd and the loader is from garden trucking. the trucks I built from Tamiya king hauler kits and wedico dump kits. a lot of the other things are homemade. I hope that answered his question. thanks for translating for me bud.
I also put a micro servo on the back as a tail gate latch that really works great. I can overload the hell out of it and it doesn't ever seem like any strain to lift it or drive away with it. its just kind of goofy looking so I don't use it that much any more with my scale construction equipment. I get it out every now and then if im hauling a lot of stone or dirt. if you have time, check out some of my newer videos, I have some new trucks and trailers in my fleet now. thanks for watching.....
i will pass it on to a guy i know thats looking for a used one. but, i have to tell you that the u.s. gets them from rc4wd brand new for $2,600 + $300 shipping. and batteries can be bought for around $30 if you know where to buy them from. i didnt know if you knew that or not, you might want to adjust your price a little. i will tell him about it though, thanks for the posting.
this video was shot pre tail gate latch and solar lighting system. I used the solar lawn spotlight guts and just put them in. so when its running during the day, its charging the lights and when the sun goes down, they kick on automatic. its pretty handy, I thought about changing all my other trucks to it too. I hope you enjoy my other videos....
rc4wd.com has them and they are the cheapest price and they are already built and ready to dig, you just need to put the batteries in and learn how to run it. have fun with it!
so you made these yourself? did you make the whole excavator or did you put motors into a model? and how did you get the hydraulics done? are those just mini electronic actuators?
you should check out my newer videos of my equipment and area, this video was 3 years ago........ a lot has changed. thanks for watching, I hope you enjoy some of my other vids as well, this is a GREAT hobby!!!
it is the rc4wd.com 4200 XL excavator 1/12 scale and it does have a lot of power. this bucket is shiny on the edges because this machine has broken it digging and hitting rocks, I have welded it a few times and then switched to making my own buckets that wont break.
wow!!! you do realize I have well over 6,000 videos right??? I loved every minute of making all of them too and have about 300 that I still need to upload at some point. hope you enjoy them too..........
+Chevy King you would be correct except the real ones aren't near as jumpy. thanks for watching, I have the jumpiness in this machine cured now, its pretty smooth now.
diggingwithmartin Your welcome. I enjoyed watching, it is one of the better rc excavator videos I've seen it has great control, and realism please keep it up.
this vid is really old, I have this machine adjusted in now and its much smoother and made some buckets and auto quick bucket connect for it in my current videos. I will keep on filming and digging the rc hobby for sure!!!
