Great video! Thanks for the review. I’m interested in these sandals for earthing.

These are definitely a good option if you are located in the USA! Even with all the other sandals I have I find myself reaching for these frequently. They are earthing capable, stylish , and very functional! I haven’t tried it personally, but they do sell a optional heel strap. I think that would make these even better!

Body glide has made a world of difference in me preventing blisters I used to get while breaking them in. I apply a generous amout in the toe post area and other high friction areas and havent gotten blisters in months. I've also used squirrel nut butter, and that works great too. Just a tip for those experiencing issues with rubbing :)

Thanks for the tip. Do you find that makes the sandals feel too loose? Also is there any difference on rain we nice weather runs?

Great video. I have the circadians i really enjoy them you nailed it the laces are really tough. I also have the Elemental in the Lifestyle laces and those gave me a blister on my heel. I have bedrocks and xero and i have been turned to the earthrunners everyday.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks they are tough. And that’s interesting the softer laces gave you blisters. I’m testing out the Xero shoes aqua cloud now and plan on doing a review and then comparison to the Shamma warriors too.

I appreciate the review. I got the Circadians recently and have done a couple trail runs in them. Got blisters from my run yesterday which led me to look up other people’s experiences. I’ve done many (relative) miles in my Lunas and never experienced this so definitely something weighing into whether I like them or not. Outside of the stiff laces between the toes they’re pretty fantastic. Can absolutely feel everything with the thin sole and the laces stay put surprisingly well.

I really enjoy my Earth runners and the down to earth feeling I get while running in them, but those tough laces are a doozy. My plan now is use them in between my Shamma runs and as my around town/camping sandals. I haven’t tried Luna Sandals yet. Is there a model Luna that’s your favorite?

I only have one pair, bought back in 2015/16. They’re the Oso and I love them. Today’s equivalent is the Retro Oso? They’re about 15 mm thick, and after wearing the Earth Runners (at 8mm) these feel so cushy, crazy what a difference. I really, really like the lacing system on the Lunas when combined with the tech strap, they stay very secure. I’m warming up to the ER, but when it comes time for another pair of Lunas I’m going to get the Leadville Pacers. They seem equivalent to the ER Circadian.

Just got a pair of Earthrunners, used them for short commutes, they felt good. Now I took them to longer walks and have figured out tightening them up helps diminish the hotspot. Trying to figure out the laces still. Thanks for the review.

Thank you for watching. Sounds like you have the right idea breaking them in. I found that doing a double wrap around the medial side of the sandals help them have a better fit for me. It might be worth trying. The earth runners RU-vid channel has a video on it if you want to see how it’s done.

Try the Elemental version instead of the Circadian. The footbed is a textured rubber not canvas. IMO they are better for wet and mud. The canvas footbed actually feels a bit rough under my feet, and I got some hot spots under my big toes / balls of the feet. Also the canvas texture just sticks mud and bits of sand to it so you feel that more inside the sandal. The smoother surface of the Elemental that doesn’t occur as much, and they dry out quicker in the wet. For laces, I’ve only tried the lifestyle ones and they are much kinder between the toes. Some people have said they loosen and slip off the heel, but doing a double lace wrap around the inner lace slot solves that. Cinch them tighter for running and have them looser for walking.

Great looking sandals! I have Shamma (Chargers) and Bedrocks Classic LTs) and curious about Earthrunners. Does the metal plug scrap flooring when wearing inside?
@Jackalopeadventureclub
@Jackalopeadventureclub Год назад
Thank you for the sub! The metal plug is basically flush with outsole. So it does touch the ground. Also I could see it scratching floors once it gets more beet up? Mine right now has some gouges in it from running on rocks and such. Hope this helps!

I saw a review video where someone tied a thread through the toe strap to make it more rounded, do you think that would help?

I have three pairs of Earthrunners . They are the only footwear that I use from spring thru fall and wear them everywhere here in NW Montana . You have to have patience to break in the strap that goes between your toes, at least with the adventure laces but after that they will be the most comfortable footwear that you own as well as the most durable.
@Jackalopeadventureclub
@Jackalopeadventureclub Год назад
That’s good to know that they break in over time. Even though the materials are rough I find myself using the Earth runners at least once a week. Have you tried the non canvas footbed version? If so how does it compare to the canvas?

@@Jackalopeadventureclub I do have a pair of Elementals , I usually wear them around the house or out and about in town, if I’m out in the woods hiking and whatnot I usually wear the Circadians or the Alphas. You definitely get more ground feel with the Circadians , a little more so with the Elementals. Personally I prefer the canvas footbed of the Circadians over the Elementals. All in all you can’t go wrong with any choice you happen to make. They are all well made and the only footwear I use until it gets cold and snowy.

@@davidmccarthy22 hello, is there any difference in smell between the primals and circadians? my circadians started to biuld this nasty smell quite early.. now i am hoping that the primals(without foodbed) don’t start to smell so bad!?

@davidmccarthy22 13 дней назад
@@Mckphtif I’m out and about in the woods after I get home i usually will scrub them with soap and water . After they are dry they look good as new, more or less. I’ve never had a problem with smelly shoes, these sandals included although they will get wet with sweat and dirty as well a quick scrub and rinse and you are all set. Normal casual wear a quick wash every week or so keeps them fresh.

Have you tried metatarsal pads for your earth runners yet? I just ordered a pair bc I’m new to barefoot shoes and I have to walk VERY gingerly in my circadians. (Side note, wondering if the chronos soles are more comfy). But I heard about the benefits of metatarsal pads first from Anya’s reviews and she has a blog on insoles for barefoot shoes and talks about them there. Apparently they are really helpful in rehabilitating feet that have been trapped in shoes for years. They help splay your toes among many other benefits. They also make shoes like earth runners a lot more comfortable. Natural Footgear has a great article on it.

Very good review. I dont run with them. I have 3 pair of different sole widths. I wear them daily and love them. I got them for grounding. The only problem I have are when rocks get inbetween my feet and soles so that's annoying. Ive wondered how people run in them without that happening. I think of mybthree the circadian are my favorite but also the third pair ( cant recall style name but like circadia only sole is thicker. In the rocky desert terrain that seems to work better. The biggest issue are rocks getting in between.
@ThumperSillywabbit
@ThumperSillywabbit Месяц назад
Of the three I like the thinnest soles the least. Our desert terrain is too rocky and also thorns are an issue. Those with vibram soles are a definite plus. So far thorns havent come thru.

How do you think ? Earth runners vs luna sandals
@toddboucher3302
@toddboucher3302 10 месяцев назад
Yeah, I never ran in those I was actually never really interested in the lease is a whole weird him for me and I don’t think they’ll hold me and now I know the Shamma‘s even with the leather cap we get those wet specially on a trail they can be kind of scary. Oh, what is the jazz the anybody the best Really Road sandals out there are probably the Shamma either the cruzers or the the more expensive one I forget what it’s called with the real of elite leasing system. Also, Luna has a mono and I would suggest getting the thinner one they got three monos I think and that’s supposed to be an everything sandal also but the, anybody wants to just try it that’s right now people you can get the Shamma a cruzers 04 I think 49 or $59 I’d took mine to about 500 miles road running hot. They’re pretty phenomenal and really got me to love sandal running

I was so excited to finally get a pair of these. Excitement quicky turned to disappointment. This lacing style does not work for feet that change size (usually in high heat for me). I initiated a conversation with customer service disclosing at the start that i had worn them (how else would i know they work for me or not). The agent encouraged me to continue working with them before deciding to return them over the course of several messages. Then tells me to be sure they aren't worn once i had decided to return for sure. The subsequent conversations with several agents were filled with snark, constant instructions on adjusting the laces (despite my explanations on why the fussy lace adjustments are prohibitive for me), and a complete lack of responsibility for their poor customer service and unsuitability of their product for me.

Hello, sorry I missed this comment. I am sorry you had a hard time with their customer service. The ER lacing system is simple which can be a good and bad thing. It’s bad when you need to make micro adjustment. But can be nice if they work with your foot shape. I’m lucky it works for mine over all. Maybe trying Shamma or Xero shoes might be good because you have some more adjustment points on the sandals. I would definitely say don’t give up, but maybe see if you can test the sandals first! Thanks for watching!

Blisters? Can we talk about how uncomfortable and painful they are to wear? I’ve tried every adjustment. They are excruciatingly painful. How anyone could even think about running in these is beyond me. Medieval torture devices. Let’s be honest.
@Jackalopeadventureclub
@Jackalopeadventureclub 8 месяцев назад
Medieval torture devices! Haha that’s a good one. They definitely require a lot of break in. A few thoughts to help you avoid blisters. Were these with nice weather. If I am running I avoid wearing these in rain and cold because that will irritate my skin. Try a double loop on the instep strap to move the laces higher on your foot. Make sure to break them in slowly. It took me months to get to a point I felt I could wear them running. If you have the adventure laces try the lifestyle ones(I have not tried these yet). You can try using some body glide, squirrels nut butter or Leuko tap in high friction areas. Then if all else fails try another brand. I want to try a pair of the Gaia sandals from the grounded athlete, because the straps look larger. I hope this helps. If not I am happy to try and help you problem solve this out.

@@Jackalopeadventureclub I don’t have blisters. That why I put a question mark. It’s not a rubbing issue. It’s an immense deep pain emanating from the space between the toes and pain in the top of the foot. Feels like the foot is being forced into an unnatural position. I have tried every adjustment possible. Spent 45 minutes talking to customer service and they walked me thru adjusting them. Their either extremely painful or falling off my feet. She told me the adventure laces are right for the kind of hiking I do. I really don’t want to endure the pain long enough to break them in. They make me a miserable and ruin my mood. I actually like to enjoy walking/hiking not suffer through. I really can’t imagine how anyone can say these are comfortable. Strange all I see is positive feedback and reviews. I really don’t understand. Medieval torture devices is what I got in the mail. Makes me wonder what people were wearing before.

@@Jackalopeadventureclub also I don’t know what you mean by double loop on instep strap. For ‘minimalist’ shoes they sure require a lot of adjustment/calibration/diagnosis/troubleshooting. I told the lady at customer service it’s like working on an old ford !

@@user-sj5me5qx8c oh I see now. I had a similar pain with my Shamma sandals when I was lacing them too tight. I almost wonder if there is some kind of nerve pain going on. However if you have gone though all this adjusting and talking to customer service maybe you just need a different brand. I started with Xero shoes and they are definitely more comfortable. I think they are also doing a big sale. Some times I wonder if different sandals, like shoes, work better with different foot shapes, but because they are sandals we think they should fit everyone. If they are are really that uncomfortable they don’t sound like that practical. I wish I had better advice, but that is all I can think of right now.
