Wish we got some fancier facets so kind of disappointment tbh. Nothing change on the innate side either. The buffs though are good

Roll in, pull stone, kick stone to next enemy. Reapply magnetize whenever stone cd. Repeat But it's always better to do kick into silence first so that the stone gets back to you for another roll.

Stepping stone- roll in and kick stone on the way and catch it when you hit the hero for instant damage and silence. This works best if you use double tap to cast stone. It takes getting used to but you’ll never lack a stone.

​@@smol9832 Yeah the facets are just really weird for him rn. I guess +40 damage at level 6 is hard to come I guess, but it's hard to weave that many right clicks when your skills already do so much damage. Maybe it will improve mid ES for solo kills, but I don't see it.

They added stone remnant after rolling boulder on stepping stone. And no more mana cost. That's a big extra for it to be decided right?

Just read the change and thank god the did that. Glad icefrog agrees it was unplayable without an extra stone to combo with after rolling I swear someone at valve watched me playing es yesterday. I kept kicking enemies and pulling air cause kept forgetting stone was on cd

i kinda like the stepping stone facet as i usually prefer to reposition enemies rather than smash stone to slow enemies. Also, unlimited stones = infinite magnetize so theres potential. But yeah i feel the facet still needs a bit of work, if they give back pre-nerf roll on this facet and faster pull speed on stone, i think this would suit my playstyle

I agree, good thing that they had an extra radius for the reset Imagine you planned on resetting and missed the reset at 2 seconds.You have a short window of 4 seconds not to fuck it up 😂 In terms of chasing and resetting the magnetize, you will need to utilize the grip or kick. While taking the 4 seconds CD into account. It's good for close combat. Unli magnetize is real

I play es mostly core. Mid or off. So often have oct core anyway so dont worry about stones. You can do more and quickly when you have multiple stones. But I can see stepping stone be used for a squishier es suppport who just likes to kick and pull mostly from outskirts of fights and just try to remagnetise while not being focused heavily. As a core you will find it harder to play stepping stones as you get focused more and need to slow the more enemies which is more utility for your team rather than just repositioning one hero most the time.

Stepping stone facet needs 2 or 3 remnants charges to be playable

@@TrueElijah they updated it to spawn a stone at the end of roll so kinda like an extra charge. Its still kinda shit tho*

I feel like theres no difference. Its not like we have the mana for infinity rolling until at least you have arcane + one more mana item; euls, lotus, octa etc. So the first 20-30 mins of the game better we take resonance for extra right click damage. Both facets barely changes how the hero plays

That was what I thought of too but nope. 40/80/120 damage flat regardless of how many heroes or stones currently magnetized We had a +50 attack damage talent at level 10 a few years ago which is better than this facet lol

I don't know why they like to nerf Earth Spirit a lot like he was easy to use. Better suggestion for stepping stone is that since it has 4 sec CD how about buff back the stone travel speed. It will surely makes a difference I hope

I havent played it yet but seems like a step in the right direction. Having infinite roll and infinite magnetize is really strong. Will need to try first tho That being said the facets are kinda lame yeah? One for right click damage 😴 and one kinda cool with what I mentioned above. They need to change Resonance make Magnetize reduce magic resistance on enemies or smthg. Attack damage doesnt make sense Then you’ll have one facet to boost ally spell damage and one for catching enemies fleeing which design wise feels more of a choice

​@@EarthSpirit.easyzdotaunlimited refresh seems cool. However, the fight needs to be "that" long without them splitting up or dispelling. Es players are typically very adept at stones consumption. If we refresh the ulti 4-5 times and the fight is still not over then it's probably not doing much impact. So I wonder if it's better off taking the other facet lol which makes the earlier kills easier. 😅

The only definite pros is spamming rolls for movement without costing stones. This facet needs so additional benefit man. It's almost the same hero with a better ultimate aoe that's it.

@@kahhweeang8300 I’ve played both facets and man theres no difference lmao. Super true on ES players being stone aware. Even when I take resonance even if we are completely dry on stones it doesnt take long to be at 3-4 stones thats all we need tbh to start fighting again. I feel like the facet is if you are good at managing stones take Resonance and if your still learning take Stepping Stone (which kinda make sense name wise lol) Support Skill build I do max roll tbh. Leave kick at 3 max roll first then then 4th point in kick if I dont need silence. At level 9 my skill build usually be 3-4-1-1 On offlane yeah def max kick first always for damage. Usually tanky enough to survive since your farming items and dont need to roll away immediately

Is stepping stones actually decent. I feel like not having charges on remnants is flat worse. Thoughts?

@@iainsiegers5992 Downsides: 1. You need to adjust Roll>Kick to Roll>Stepback>Kick 2. If you use Enhanced Roll, you can't silence a distant opponent, only your hit target. Note: If you use magnetize after roll, the magnetize will spread due to the created remnant on roll end, you can silence basically everyone in a 600 AOE [It was 400 before patch] 3. You have to wait 4 seconds for next magnetize refresh, which is not a big deal IMO since you spread it imediatelly to everyone around you and if you insta silence, their dispels are limited to items. Benefits: You have 1600(1800) distance roll, 2000 distance Bouldersmash, and Silence off cooldown without having to worry about Stone Economy. Plus you have infinite Magnetize. This means the following: 1. You can Blast creepwaves / Nuke opponent from a safe distance with Q or QE off CD. 2. You can skip boots, and you can move faster than Antimage across the map. This allows you to farm / apply pressure to a wave then roll to gank then roll to another wave to push. With items like octarine + 20 lvl talent, you throw 1 Bouldersmash and the wave is dead. This is constant pressure and you have semiglobal presence for ganks and counterganks. 3. You have no downtime where you need to recover stones, with Urn + Kaya Sange you will never have to go back to base. 4. If you have ancient stacks you can use magnetize, keep throwing stones and kick off CD from a safe distance. After it's dead you will be still full hp and you will be in fighting / farming / splitpushing condition since no stone recharge needed.

Stepping stone tried once. I hated it. Mana cost hurts you early too much. Fights felt like being handicapped.

@@EarthSpirit.easyzdota yh that was a good change but they made it somehow worse. Now it always places a stone at end of role. Which means u never have the option to push enemies or allies straight after the roll. Es prioritises stone over hero. Valve could have just given him 2 charges of stones to resolve the issue but I guess they want to make this hero have 0 charges on this facet to make it more beginners friendly.

Laziest?? U havent seen io’s facet yet. Just lazy and embarrassing. they removed his 2 abilities and made it a facet. they made io even worse then he use to be lol
