mrbertiep1 I agree with you 100%. These wonderful musicians brought their show to a little village called Meze in France on July 20th 2012 - no backing tracks, just the real thing..... My wife and I were 18 in 1979 and 51 in 2012 - they lit that place up like never before, it was a MAGICAL DREAM... sorry Philip and Co., but you would never be bothered to bring the love near to us..... 2013 we had Nile Rodgers in Sete, life is good!
Hey!!! We all know it's not Maurice or Phillip on vocals. Al has done a great job of recruiting various vocalists and musicians, to include former EWF members over the past 15-plus years. I really enjoy what he's doing and will always be a fan of his.
the real name of this band is "The Earth Wind and Fire Experience Featuring The Al McKay Allstars" Al Mckay was guitarist, songwriter, producer and former of EWF.
They are called the Al McKay all stars, Mr McKay is one of the original members of earth-wind and fire! To me they are good! That's the way to make sure that their music carries on from generation to generation! Don't be so hard on them! These young guys are really good! Al McKay plays the red guitar in the band!
+David Gray súhlas je to cover band, ktorá môže v Europe kde pôvodní E W and F nekoncertujú použivať tento názov, pretože málo kto vie kto je Al McKay....ani on však nie je pôvodným členom skupiny Earth Wind And Fire len v nej hral od roku 1972, kedy nahradil gitaristu Rolanda Bautistu, ktorý ho vystriedal v roku 1981. Al McKay vo februari 2018 dobrši 70 rokov.
Well to me they are BETTER! all because of the ORIGINAL Al McKay who is the leader and founder of this group..had anybody else put together an EW&F tribute band together they couldn't/wouldn't touch Al Mckay EW&F Experience with a 10 foot pole..any other EW&F tribute band IS GONNA sound like some 🐂💩 Al McKay brings the soul of the original EW&F to this group being that he was an original member..nobody else can/would achieve this. Now if anybody think I'm on some fan boi 💩 you can come for me cause I've got all day fools.
I personally think that THIS version of "Brazilian Rhyme" has the BEST brass arrangement of any other previous ones. It's just simply espectacular! My hunch is that Omar Peralta had a lot to do with it. One can easily hear a host of "twists an turns" so peculiar of cuban jazz horn arrangements with the Irakere stamp (and Chucho Valdez', of course!)
If you're going to be an tribute or experience group,at least be good at it and these guys have achieved just that. I think they sound as good as the current EWF line up. Good work gentlemen!!!
At this point day and time..they sound/are better than the original EW&F all because of the ORIGINAL Al McKay who is the leader of The EW&F Experience..don't get any better than this and you can come for me cause I've got all day fools.👍💯💯😎
They performed on Guam today, and it was such an amazing concert! The Al McKay All Stars is comprised of the best musicians in the world and they carry the spirit of EWF just as passionate as the original band did. The show was extremely entertaining and I'm so happy that they are still continuing the show of the EWF Experience. Definitely look out for them when they stop by.
Had the pleasure to meet AL in new Orleans a few years ago....dude still got it after all these years. Out all the original members of EWF,Larry Dunn and AL are my favorites.
+Jarreau Williams bez urážky ani jeden z nich nie je pôvodným členom E W and F...Dunn prišiel do skupiny po nahraní albumu Need Of Love v roku 1972 a Al McKay až po albume Head To The Sky v lete 1973
I think this is the new face of EARTH,WIND and FIRE..I still miss the hyper-intused bass player of the old group!!!! they were phenomenally unbelievable..
My compliments to all thesse musicians. They may not be the actual ETW, but they groove so well. I my self am a Professional musician not yet retired and these guys r very good.
Love these guys! What I love is that they bring a little of the jazz element that is reminiscent of EWF's earlier days. Granted, they are not the original EWF (except for the exceptional McKay) but I can't imagine anyone even coming closer than these guys!
Earth Wind and Fire moves your soul and feet. RIP Maurice White - you'll be missed. The Grammy's maybe didn't give you recognition - shame on them - but those who know your accomplishments, your family and loved ones know the truth, you're a legend, I hope the rest of EWF keep playing many talented and gifted musicians, just outstanding - God Bless
Truly blown away by “Pride” ~4:45-10:10. This is real gem from “Faces” album, sooooo funky. So great to see Al still rocks. Yes Al! Go Al! Never seen any tune from Faces album on live by EWF themselves, so this is very precious. I've waited for 35 years. This video is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing.
I think many of you are comparing this to EWF back in the day. The day has passed and EWF is no longer as they were back in the day. These guys are GREAT!!!
Totally agree: saw them 3 days ago in Paradiso Amsterdam and they have a really great show. Maybe the voices are a little bit thinner than the original, but these guys are all great artists and make a superb show.
Very good sound and very good job. Probably the best we can get not being the original band. Very Very good as a tribute band.Great Merit and great musicians and singers. !
To everyone who says they are not the real deal......This is as close as we will get to Maurice White's original band concept. A little history.....This is the Al McKay All Stars. Al McKay has every right to tour as The Earth W & F Experience and had Maurice's blessing. Al brought a big chunk of the funk to the band for a very long time and played that ES335 on most of their hits including the ones he wrote. Most acknowledge him as the best rhythm guitarist ever. He also retained EWF's roots in funk and African based rhythms which made Maurice very happy. Most folks don't know that Maurice was a MONSTER jazz drummer for Ramsey Lewis back in the day. Al McKay also produced and played on the Emotions albums, which was basically 3 sisters with EWF as their backing band. Al is the real deal and in many ways more EWF than EWF is now. Since the 70's they have been my all time favorite band but they like a lot of bands had to commercialize to succeed. (Just look at Lionel Richie). Al McKay's band keeps to Maurice's original concept. That's why I get a kick out of the EWF / Chicago tour. EWF was a FUNK band. I also have all of Chicago's music, but they are a ROCK band.
Saw them live at Tenerife Magma Centre last night ... Sensational, packed with funky soul and energy. Wonderful band sounding even better than the old EWF.
Al McKay on guitar in white shirt was in the original Ewf band of the 70's and co wrote many of the songs with Maurice! Also Larry Dunn Former keyboardist for EWF has a band doing EWF songs!
This Al McKays' Earth Wind and Fire Experience, not a tribute band! The first guitarist was Roland Bautista. Al was the guitarist from about 1973 til 1980 and recorded all those original hits. It was Al playing all those funky rhythm strokes. The band was called the Al McKay Allstars.
I'm not speaking of matching bands they do what they do....Cover bands were what I was speaking of.... You just cannot duplicate the voices of Maurice or Phillip. ...PERIOD....There are certain voices that are just one of a kind...
AS FOR ME WHO HAVE THE WHOLE COLLECTION OF EWF, THEY DID IT REALLY GOOD, FOR THE TIME BEING.....ALL CRITICISM MUST TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THAT "ORIGINALS" CAN NEVER BE REPLACED....VICTOR VEGAS R
Wie in Bad Neustadt (Germany) Earth Wind & Fire experience geht es wirklich um "glücklich sein, die Musik fühlen, Kraft gebende power, den Moment leben...."
