Let me lay some facts on you my fellow RU-vid Listeners: This song was written b y David Foster, Jay Graydon and Bill Chaplin. It was first offered to the duo group " Hall & Oates."At the time they were not interested in recording any music that wasn't written by them. When D. Foster presented to Maurice White, he gave the song a thumbs up. Verdine White, brother of Maurice White, stated that it was the most difficult song they had ever recorded. They felt the vibe had to be right in order to pull it off. He went on to say they recorded 6 to 7 times before M. White said that's it. Thats the one. It found its way to #2 on Billboards 100 list in 1979 for 2 weeks. It took home 2 Grammy's. Best R&B duo or a group and Best R&B song Grammy for composers D. Foster and J. Graydon. And now you know. Lol

I am 21, and still jamming out to this song. This song reminds me of my mom, she...unfortunately succumbed to colon cancer back in 2013. Every time I hear this song, it would make me sad, because she was my mom, she might've not been a good mom to yall, but to me, she was a great mom. She told me to be happy, she told me that not to cry about her, she told me that she will be in my heart and watching over me. Those were her last words. I dropped down my DS (ended up breaking it) and was crying at her side. I never thought I would lose my mom, and when they disconnected my mom from life support, I went running and hugging my dad and crying. Fast forward to May 25th, 2019, I was graduating. Once this song came on as the Graduation Song, I looked at my family, and I went running to them and cried. I wanted everyone to be there, including my mom. My friends were there to comfort me also. I really miss my mom. Someday mom, I will reunite with you again! Until then, I will try my hardest. I remember being on a summer holiday, staying in a caravan in a seaside resort in the UK. I was 14, there was another girl, same age as me in the next caravan. She was so beautiful, we waved to each other and spoke once. But I fell i teenage love with her. I woke up one day to wave to her, pulled back the curtains of the caravan and her and her family had left. I was absolutely heartbroken. And in the radio this was playing... I cried for the rest of my holiday. I'm now nearly 60, so if you stayed in a caravan in Weymouth 45 years ago, and some spotty blond haird boy was in the caravan next to you.. Let me know 😂....

Pretty much the best damn song ever written.

My mom just passed away. Earth Wind and Fire was her favorite band. My Dad abused her for a long time and her parents before that and she became addicted to drugs and alcohol as a result. Didn’t really get to know the good parts of her. One of the few memories I have during the good days of her life is standing on her feet as a toddler dancing with her to this song. Grateful for Earth Wind and Fire.

The best group I've ever heard in my life

Easy for Philip Bailey’s voice to stand out in recordings but when you have seen them live, it was so clear Maurice was the glue, heart and soul of this group. Such colossal talent and good vibes. My HS band director toured with EW&F in the supporting band so we performed many of their great songs and they are seared in my memory. So uplifting and positive, but THAT GROOVE!!!!!

A masterpiece that was recently discovered to be played to the original World Trade Center (Twin Towers) Plaza in New York (during the 1990's).... So calming... so peaceful... This song really gets us back the pre 9/11 world where we all were happy with what we had...without hating others... A world that is gone long time back.... If only we could bring those glorious decades back... Even if someone tries to change us, we still have our fate on our hands... This song alongside other that played on the WTC Plaza has a purpose here on earth... They keep our memories & vision for life alive...We have to remember what our true selves are... That way we can bring back the world we lost on 9/11... A world that was much much better before the millenium, much better from what we expected or have now... The Twin Towers were the symbols of that lost world, they dissapeared with the world they represented... And they should have built them again (at least on a different spot in New York)... I know that it may sound annoying to the families of the victims but most of them agree with that... What happened proves that the terrorists won.. They changed the modern world from the beginning of the millenium... Everyone fell on fear and doubt, even New York feared of recreating its identity back... Why?? The only way to be saved in this kind of world is to never forget our identity... Above any national identity is our identity as human beings... We have to create that world again for the future generations... That is our duty and mission as Millenial's... We were born in those great past decades and we know how it was... Hapiness wasn't about money or material items.. It was about family, friends. daily simple things that matter.... That's the reason you see happy people on all those past decade videos... They lived their life without being slaves of the materials... Imagine yourself walking to the World Trade Center Plaza during a peaceful afternoon, alonside other people and friends, enjoying the calming music there, the sound of the water running on the plaza fountain, and then enjoying a wonderful experience at 110th floor to breathe the air & enjoy views of New York.. All these are lost now... We became slaves for the money, and everyone is asking money from us... Free yourself.. Return to your faith in Gold, in values, to others, to yourself. We can build a better world together. Just like the one we lost on 9/11...

I'd be lying if I say that my appreciation for quality music and everything which goes into it,and my appreciation for the real things of life(time,relationships, true love) hasn't been bolstered,after I found EW&F. I fell fully for EWF after I gave this song a try on midnight in September, and it's been no turning back from then. The soundtrack of my youth is rightfully tuning, and I'm happy about how I'm seeing my future,now,as a young guy in his 20's,all which has your influence.
