Yes, and if you really listen to Maurice, you will hear wisdom still relevant today. A few years back I had a friend contemplating suicide, i told her to listen to this and Be ever wonderful. Came to work next day and thanked me. Told me songs brought her to tears but opened her eyes and she was very grateful. Thank you EWF you will forever be my favorite band.

So interesting watching young folks appreciate what was laid down on tracks that existed long before the listners were born . That instrumental interlude you were vibing to, Ashley, was pretty common tecnique with E,W&F's music. Their "segues" (as they were then called) always consisted of uniquely different musical moods---to take you to the next stop they had planned. This was a band whose albums contained absolutely NO FILLER. Even the interludes between songs were jams in and of themselves. No fast forward or skip buttons were necessary. The albums were arranged to be listened to in their entirety. It was a wonderful time to be alive; and...a wonderful time to experience, first-handedly, music that would eventually become "timeless". Thank you, for giving credit----to where credit is most certainly due; the 70's. Thank you for showing your love, your respect and your appreciation for "your" history. And...for keeping "our" legacy alive. Blessings.
From one of the best albums of all time. Not one song that you'll skip on the "That's The Way Of The World" album. The late Maurice White was an absolute genius and EWF one of best groups ever.
Ashley, I grew up with this band, and the only thing better than the albums are their concerts! I was 6 rows from the front of the stage for their live album Gratitude, with Power/Africano intro, The life changing Spirit tour with the opening of the 3 massive pyramids, and the best concert they ever performed, The earth shattering All n All tour with the tubes descending slowly from the top of the ceiling on to the stage!! You will find that as you continue to explore their music, that they have so many unbelievable songs that were never played on the radio. Soo many great songs you can explore that will blow your mind! You Are A Winner! Feeling Blue. Mighty Mighty, Sun Goddess. Love is Life, (the second version/remake) and many, many more!! Yes, I seen 16 concerts in tri state area, for us I'm new york it was an event when they played the garden. My 1st child was at an EWF concert at garden on his 8th month.

I was 15 or 16 when this album was released in 1975. EWF is my all-time favorite band of the 70s and the soundtrack of my teen years. It doesn't get better than that.🤗🤗❤❤
Earth Wind and Fire are pure 🌎🌬🔥!!! Have several of their albums from back in the day. Including the one you're displaying. Continue down this rabbit hole. You will absolutely love it!!
Oh and the little snippet at the end? That's an interlude. Albums back then were journeys and experiences. Listening to an album was not like listening to radio and random songs but a complete album if well done was a complete experience. And some albums were even called "Concept Albums" which is where the album jointly creates a theme or message or atmosphere. EWF had several albums specifically in the 70s that had Radio cuts, deep album cuts and yes album interludes and not to mention album cover art and album liner notes.
You could pretty much react to every song off that album and just be in love. The versatility, the lyrics, the rhythm, the soul, funk and groove...and the vocal mastery of Maurice White and Phillip Bailey makes EWF one of the best R&B bands of all time.
Another gem! Saw them in concert back in 1982. EWF is one of the greatest bands of all time. Great horn section. You have to check out “Can’t Hide Love”

that interlude immediately after all about love is actually an audio part 'played backwards' from their song celebrate. if you listen you can hear it within the song. it was charles stepney maurice's producer who actually was playing around in the studio. people think it is larry dunn ewf talented gifted keyboard player at that time. cs was known for his genius producing arranging for ewf.
Arguably The GOAT Greatest Band Of All Time and that is NO EXAGGERATION. They have a Rabbit Hole of a discography. My Top 3 GOAT Bands: EWF, Isley Brothers and Maze. Throw in The Beatles for diversity and variety. R&B Soul bands behind The Top 3? Cameo, Ohio Players and Heatwave but not in that particular order.
I also remember Steely Dan, The Average White Band, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Rose Royce (but there are many more I'm sure). I really don't want to leave The Emotions off the list.

I waited and waited to see if you would get the point of the overall message that we did 50 years ago. AND ONCE AGAIN... You proved you are an honorary "Baby-Boomer"... "IF THERE AIN'T NO BEAUTY YOU GOTTA MAKE SOME BEAUTY". Play this for any family member over 60 and I promise you they will say that line out of habit. It maybe the only verse they remember. Church sista's always add that "HAVE MERCY, LISTEN TO ME YALL" at the end 😂
EW&F..not only great music but in concert gives you good showmanship. As music runs in my family's blood, I took my youngest 2 sons to see them in concert.. Wifey: You gonna pay all that money for them? (Three rows back, center) Me: Yup. They say they're into music so they need to see the real deal, up close and personal. They had a blast. PS: Chaka Khan was the opener. 😁 [Edit] I really come from the Jazz world which is mainly instrumental.. You talk about originality? Check out the album (yes, I said album 🤣) "Romantic Warrior" by Return to Forever which came out in the mid 70s.. Fusion: successful melding of jazz, rock and classical. None of their pieces are the same. I still hear new things in it every time I listen to it. Lastly, IMHO, this was the greatest band in a generation. Enjoy.

EWF....they were the top in the 70s and early 80s when it came to r&b/funk bands....they have a GAZILLION classic songs....lol...you dont even know what you getting into.....great reaction
