Incredible demo. This is the best sounding demonstration of any modulation pedal I have ever heard. I just bought this. Andy, your old videos have been costing me a lot of money lately lol.
Everybody knows how hard Andy rocks but about the pedal... it sounds so great!!! Loved the whole video. But that lead and 5:55 blew my f*cking mind!!! What a riff and what a tone. Truly great
I’m glad I didn’t sell my Small Stone after all. I’ve had Grand Orbiter for a year and sold it recently. I appreciate the amonut of control on the phaser but I never could get such a sweet spot out of it that I get with 1-knob phasers. Small Stone sends me instantly to 60/70s psychedelia whereas with Grand Orbiter I felt nothing. Like it sounded too clear. I’m trying now Jam Pedals The Ripple phaser, see if it’s any good.
I nearly lost it laughing when Andy said "fabulous Akron, Ohio". Obviously he's never been there... Really not a fabulous city by any means. But hell. The pedals sure sound great and this one is making me more tempted to make my first Earthquaker devices pedal purchase. And to support a local business (for me at least)!!
Frampton ! One of the greatest melodic players out there .. How many of you always thought that Frampton was a joke ???? Maybe now you’ll understand how great of a player he is !
I have this pedal,The Depths vibe, and The Sea Machine Between these three, there's not many modulation tones I can't reach. I like that they're made in Akron Ohio, they cost just under $200, they easily fit my pedal board, and they sound crazy good, from mild to wild.
Fred Garvin I read a few of your comments while watching phaser's review. I never was a phaser guy when I was younger and I'm thinking about buying my first phaser pedal. It seems like you know a lot of things about it. I like the Grand Orbiter and the Astrospurt from KMA machines. Do you know the KMA ? What do you think ? Should I go with this one, or the KMA ?
This phaser sounds great. It's not as warm as the MXR but in a way that's good. The original guitar sound without the phaser and with it on maintains the same sound which is good a lot of times.
MXR isn't known for it's great buffers or bypass. This can be a problem in particular when combined with certain drive and clipping circuits. Great on their own, NSG at " playing with others"
Anyone know which song he's playing in the vibrato bit at 3:42? And wouldn't it be just great if Andy and the gang would list in the description the songs played in each demo, if available?
Yeah but only during parts of the song, such as the "Slow down, Hold down; Hold me, Roll me" section, you can hear the phaser on the big, ringing chords in the background. And I believe it's also at the end of the extended slide solo on the long version of the song. May be on some vocal parts, too. But I'm pretty sure it's not on the main slide parts if that's what you're saying
