Thats pretty cool separating drive & modulation in seperate fx loops and combined with the ns-2 i bet that's a quiet rig. Looking good so far.

Thanks for checking out all the videos! I have to credit Earthquaker devices for putting the drives in loop 1 and modulation in loop 2 - it’s more or less what they designed it for. I will have to put stereo Reverb/Delay effects on the A/B outputs so no loop switch for those when the time comes but I think it’ll be fine. I have a couple of cheap noise suppressors coming in soon. Going to try a simple Rowin noise gate first in the chain to silence guitar noise and replace the NS-2 with a DemonFX ripoff of the ISP G-string II. The NS-2 kept things quiet but I was noticing that sometimes there was a sizeable volume reduction on the front end attack of my notes. Hope one or both of the new pedals will keep it quiet and unaffected… otherwise it’s more $$$ 😅 - Richard

@@TheJamSpace man I really appreciate all the help with technical stuff. Definitely learning. Theres is just gear I wasn't even aware of. That earthquake is really cool. Well it's a work in progress figuring out what sounds best to each individual player. Hopefully those new pedals do the trick!

i like when you said tuners take up too much space "just to tune your guitar" like it's not a big deal to be out of tune. haha. the only thing i don't like about clip-on tuners is they look so stupid hanging off the headstock. and they are not great for bass.

Haha yeah that was kind of funny how I said it. ‘Out of tune?... It’s jazzzzz, man!’ No, I don’t really like the clip-on tuners either, but they prove we have the technology to take up less space for tuning. I got a micro sized one by D’addario because it’s tiny and doesn’t look dumb on the headstock of my guitar. But like you say about the bass, its bad in the low register and it does poorly on the 6th string with my detuned guitar in B-standard. The Swiff Audio C10 mini tuner is the size I want and it tunes far lower than the clip on. While I have you here, I’ve been watching your channel - so much great content and interaction. I think you could stand to do more low key plugs for pleds.to/steve-badach that would still fit with your style and not be obtrusive to viewers at all - Maybe adding a link card to your top 100 videos and all videos moving forward? Or just a link in the description. You have a great channel and I think you definitely have some viewers who would support if they knew or were reminded that it’s an option.

I just had the Swiss Things delivered and will start reorganizing my board shortly. I have a Revv G8 and I can’t find any info online on how to add this correctly with the Swiss Things. Do I put this before the Swiss Things since I currently have it as “always on?” Loop 1 would have my distortion/drives as instructed. Is this where I’d put the noise gate? Loop 2 will have my delay and reverb, where I’d kick this on live for leads. I am brand new to loop switchers and am not sure how to properly hook this up. Maybe I’m overthinking it as well.

Hey, I explain my noise gate routing in loop one at the 10:45 marker of this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5t2DoK7bEY4.html But you're right that it won't work as an always on pedal this way if I turn off loop 1 on the Swiss Things. I think you could put the Revv G8 before the Swiss Things in your chain if you are only using the input and output of it, but I'm not sure it would be very effective because it would only be gating noise between your pickups and the Revv G8. and if you use the return and send on the Revv G8 and send the signal back to the Revv G8 that is problematic as well because the loop 1 and 2 on and off switches will effect it there as well. So, I think that this is another potential downside of the Swiss Things. For me I live with it by having the Noise Suppressor as the first and last pedal inside of loop 1 and knowing that i'm reducing unwanted noise before it gets to the modulation in loop 2 and to the input of the amp. Hopefully something like what I describe in the video linked above will work for you. Good Luck! Richard

@@ElementsPA You're welcome, I hope setting up this way will work okay for you. And hey that Revv G8 looks really cool!! - bonus that they are made 5hrs drive east of me in Winnipeg

@@TheJamSpace it’s the best noise gate I’ve ever used. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a flexible gate.

While the Swiss Things was not designed to facilitate a “Wet/Dry”, dual amp scenario, it is possible to simulate this scenario. It would require an a/b/y box or a y-adapter. However, this assumes that you would ideally like to still keep your dirt pedals in the chain for the “dry” amp. You would simply connect a y-adapter or a/b/y box to the send from Loop 2. You then connect your dirt pedals to the send and return of loop 1, and connect 1 side of the adapter coming from the send on Loop 2 to the input of your “Dry” amp, connect the other side of the adapter to the input of the modulation part of your pedal chain, and then connect the output from the modulation part of the chain to the return of Loop 2. You may then wish to connect your “Wet” amp to channel B output from the Swiss Things. This will provide Transformer Isolation between the amps to help avoid ground loops. Please note that bypassing Loop 2 will mute the audio for your “dry” amp, and then the amp that previously had the modulation effects will now be “dry” (loop 1 only).

Hi Tony, thanks for your input about this potential use case for the Swiss Things. It could work for some but its not something that I will likely try (I don’t have another a/b/y box handy and if I did I probably wouldn’t have acquired the Swiss Things). You do propose a very creative work around but I struggle with the idea of having two A/B/Y switchers (or one and a y-adapter) when the Swiss Things has both an A and a B output on it. The idea of not using both of the Swiss Things outputs is triggering my OCD lol. My (hopefully satisfactory) workaround for this partial “Wet/Dry, dual amp scenario” with the Swiss Things is to use the Loop 2 section for modulation effects (and send them to both amps with the Y/Both setting of the Swiss Things as my always on output setting). Reverb and Delay effects will not be routed through the Swiss things at all and will instead be inserted into my Mesa Express+ via the effects loop. I will run the Drive and Modulations effects into the front of my Mesa via the A output of the Swiss Things and the transformer isolated output B will go into the front of my Fender Amp. So both amps will receive drive and modulation into the front of the amp, but only the Mesa will have Reverb/Delay via the effects loop. This is not a fully wet/dry set up of course but I am hopeful that it will provide a desireable result. Have you tried a setup like this before with your rig? If so, what were your results? Thanks for the comment, it’s really good to hear from people who are informed and interested in this kind of stuff. If you want to see how my described partial “Wet/Dry” experiment goes then I hope you’ll check back or possibly subscribe to the channel. Cheers Tony. Have a great day! - Richard
