The beginning part of the level is probably one of the most epic video game moments for me actually. Descending down to the Queen's lair, your final destination, with the corrupted-like background along with the kickass music really gives me that "it's time..." feeling, as if everything Earthworm Jim has encountered from his entire adventure has culminated to these moments. I freaking love this game.
For anyone that had trouble with the start of this level, there was always a gameplay demo of Jim flawlessly propelling downward. Big ups to the developers who lowkey helped us.
I never got to the last level of this game, in fact, I played it very sporadically, so I could never understand, “Is Jim inside QUEEN SLUG FOR A BUTT? Or outside? Yeesh!
This has to be the most kickass music in the entire game! :D I can just hear Jim saying: "EAT DIRT YOU PULSATING, BLOATED, FESTERING, SWEATY, PUS-FILLED, MALFORMED, SLUG-FOR-A-BUTT!!" XD DAMN....no wonder you saved up so much ammo....
@RetroDork74 Yeah, on some version, I think the SNES, you can do that. It's supposed to be some sort of an easy to find secret or something. Doesn't work on most versions.
@NJohnGA10 HE'S ALREADY ANSWERED YOU BUT YEAH PROBABY, PROBLEM IS TO MY KNOWLEDGE YOUR OBLIGED TO LAUCH THE COW IF THERE'S A WAY TO AVOID IT THATS PROBABLY HOW YOU GET THE GOOD ENDING. WELL DONE TO JOHNNY HE MADE THAT LOOK EASY WHICH IT MOST CERTAINLY IS NOT HATS OFF TO YER MATE
While the music from the first section of level is great, I personally enjoy the second half of the level's theme more-which is a shame because it seems to be underrated and and not as featured on RU-vid as the previous song.
Yeah, apparently she does die from one hit from the whip. Before I recorded this people told me it worked only in the SNES version and wouldn't work on Genesis, and that the only quick way to kill her in Genesis was to save up blaster ammo, and when I tried whipping her before it didn't work so I figured what people told me was true. Apparently people were wrong and I just missed.
For Pete's Sake is actually my favorite level, I can get through it most of the time in one run through, my most hated level is Snot a Problem round 3 lol. Fuck that Sergeant Carter looking mother fucker lmao!
@@Mahoxy Genesis games might not be as pretty as snes games most of the time, but they almost always perform better, and if the dev knows how to use the synth audio, it can produce amazing music. Every damn snes game has reverb out the ass. Genesis is really weak with sound effects though, and if you really want to get technical, the snes isn't even a true 16 bit system. It essentially has an upgraded NES processor running at about half the clock speed of the Genesis. snes is like an art student, it paints pretty pictures, but the Genesis is a track star. Both systems have their pros and cons, but if I have a choice of playing a multi platform, I'll usually play the Genesis version. That being said, Donkey Kong Country is absolutely my favorite game from the 16 bit era.
