This is a no death run of Earthworm Jim for the SNES on Normal difficulty. I did this run back in 2006. I wouldn't call it a speed run, but I do move at a very brisk pace.
Damn Scott, you just helped me finish all the super monkey ball achievements with a stamina master strat, and now you’re helping me with my no death earthworm Jim achievement 😌
That is a great comparison. I always liked Blaster Master a lot. I actually did a no death run of it too several years ago, but the recording is lost. EWJ has always been one of my favorite SNES games.
No doubt, it's a very difficult game. What I like about this game is that it's hard, but well made. A lot of difficult games are difficult because they're poorly made.
That little alien at the level at around 31 minutes looks so happy when the whip hits him. I think he's in a dom/sub relationship with Jim. Whoa Nelly!
+Roland Desjarlais Thanks. Yes, the Genesis version is better IMO. The biggest problem with the SNES version to me is the missing level. I figure that Nintendo wouldn't allow the Intestinal Distress level for the same reason that they took blood and fatalities out of Mortal Kombat. Lame.
@@sdkess it was actually last minute licensing deal with SEGA. They said that if they would add extra content the cartridge prices would be lower for Shiny.
@@cooler_carpington That makes more sense than what I suggested. I do know that costs of chips affected game prices quite a bit. Games that needed more storage cost more. It seems like I paid $80 for Chrono Trigger which was a 32 Megabit game!
Yes, I have the Xbox 360 version although it has been a while since I played it. The intestinal distress level was also in the Genesis version, but it was left out of the SNES version.
Yes, it was done on a SNES console and recorded with a VCR. It was verified by Twin Galaxies (TG) several years ago although that means little given what has happened to TG since then.
TechnologyChild This was recorded with SNES composite out to my VCR. I then used a Toshiba DVR to dub the VHS to DVD-R and ripped it using SDA's Anri-chan program. The resulting video was uploaded to YT. The only gaming footage I've ever recorded from an RF signal is some NES stuff from my top loader NES. I started using it a few years ago after my front loader NES became unreliable.
