@@weepingz you really shouldn’t be doing that at thrift shops, most thrift shops are charitable and there are people that genuinely need thrift shops because they can’t afford other things. I’d say stick to big companies like Walmart and others that aren’t charitable and aren’t locally owned
Some systems also can expand their operations into adding AUX ports and can be configured via the USB port or hand held device to operate in various modes and under various conditions. Hybrid Technology has pros and cons... At times it may not be as fast as it should be and may become more subjugated to defect or frequent service, that depends on the design used and the manufacturer.
my sister has a metal plate from ankle surgery and it goes off when you come or leave a store..why? SO embarssing and humiliating having to explain this all?
Certain electronic or metallic implants do set off certain EAS system. My friend had an experience with his laptop that was newly fixed, when he took it to a bookstore containing EAS detection system, the alarm went off, I suspect the newly formed lead that have been soldered into his electronic board or chip must have somehow tripped the overly sensitive alarm.
Is there a version of this that works with a single plane, instead of anything that passes between the towers? Like a very narrow field of detection, but that fills the entire area?
A happy new year to you and the rest of the team. I am looking for a solution to track, prevent theft and also possibly track by GPS or similar technology when an item is stolen from a an auditorium. I need a complete system with associated soft and hardware. Thank you kojo
I saw magnets up there, so if I walk in there with refrigerator magnets it will go off? Also I saw tin foil, I'm sure people have bought tinfoil without it going off
The magnet will be detected once in the detection zone. Also metals will be detected depending on their size and orientation with respect to the antennas. Metal areas that are more parallel to the lines of the detection field tend to become less detectable and vice versa. However there are engineering ways to prevent this failure mode, for more information on how to remedy this problem you may contact me to help you design a more robust system. I have been designing around EAS and security products for over 10 years and will be happy to help.
Fares Fahim Hi, i have a question about the EAS systems, i'm working with one company (casino business ) and we are using EAS cash valued chips at a frequency of 12.5 Khz, do you think that i can find some antenna that can detect those chips if somebody is passing by it with the chip in the pocket or in a bag...thank you
I have metal implants from an ankle surgery. My question is why does it set off the store alarm detectors when it shouldn't? I don't think the metal in it should be able to set off the detectors, only the magnetic strip should. Can someone explain this?
TonisTech They never really explained to me what kind of metal was used. If I do set off the alarm every time, then it may not be titanium. I'm not really sure about it. Thank you for the explanation.

Most convenience store don't use EAS anyway nor are they bugged, it's simply too costly and impractical. Heck, most of these stores are still using outdated or low-end crappy CCTVs.
Reason I’m watching this is bc I was at Walmart tonight after a 12 hour shift and after the gym. Dead tired at the time...Went in to buy nicotine patches ($40), gum, water and protien bars. Thinking nothing of it no mask on and as I was walking out apologized to the guy for it. What sounded like an alarm as I walked through the doors went off but kept going bc I wanted to get home since I have to be up in 5 hours for another 12 hour shift. Currently sick to my stomach worrying that since the nicotine patches didn’t show up on my reciept that the cops will not be called and after me. I had no intentions to steal and don’t know what to do after an hour or so of researching online. Any help is good. I’ve never stole before and never intended to ever.
Today I was walking out the Thrift store. There are no bar codes or metal detectors. Security suspected I was stealing. As I walked out she made the alarm go off by using her phone. Then she asked to search my purse. She found a 3.00 item i istole. I should have peeled off the sticker. The manager told me not to come back. 😀
Hi,I am Hardy, professional EAS system supplier in China.Because the barcode is the same frequency as the system, when the barcode through the system, the system will alarm.Any questions can send the email to me,sales005@hr-tenda.com.
