If you're anything like me you've always wanted to bake bread but are so intimidating by the process (especially sourdough bread) this recipe is a NO KNEAD recipe and only requires 4 ingredients. This is the perfect recipe for a beginner. IF I CAN BAKE BREAD I PROMISE YOU CAN BAKE BETTER BREAD! :)
INGREDIENTS:
3 CUPS- ALL PURPOSE FLOUR OR BREAD FLOUR ( I use Costco brand)
1/4 TEASPOON- RAPID RISE INSTANT YEAST (I use Fleischmann's brand)
2 TEASPOONS - PINK SALT
((STIR DRY INGREDIENTS TOGETHER & STIR IN YOUR WATER))
1 1/2 CUPS OF WARM WATER (I make sure temp reads 107F)
DIRECTIONS:
Mix all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl and add your water to form a ball of dough. If your dough seems too dry add a couple tablespoons of water at a time to get the right constistency ( don't over saturate dough).
Cover your bowl with seran wrap + damp cloth.
Let your bowl sit on your countertop for 4 hours.
Once your dough has been sitting on your countertop for 3 hours, start to preheat your oven + dutch oven together at 450F for 40 mins.
MAKE SURE NOT TO FORGET TO ADD YOUR DUTCH OVEN INSIDE OF YOUR OVEN TO PREHEAT. IT NEEDS TO BE HOT ONCE YOU PLACE YOUR DOUGH INSIDE TO BAKE.
AT this time you can also scrape your dough out of the mixing bowl onto your flat surface to work the dough into a ball to then
"Score" . Place your shaped dough onto your parchment paper or silicone mat until your dutch oven is ready.
After the 40 mins of preheating you will add your dough into your dutch oven and bake for 30 mins at 450F and then uncover it and bake for additional 15-20 mins. If you want less crunch and color bake for (10 mins only).
Let the bread cool off for 30-40 mins before slicing into it & enjoy!
