a couple things: for the lightning, you could use a channeling trident, that would've worked when charged creepers blow up, they only drop the head of the first thing they kill, not everything they kill

That’s not true because I used the trident to get a charged creeper and I actually got 5 skulls in one explosion including the charged creeper. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@Bosstrigger21 that's just not how charged creepers work? or at least not in java Minecraft, you might be on bedrock or something (although Im not sure that's how they work on bedrock either)

In Java, a charged creeper will only drop the head of one of the mobs killed. However, in Bedrock it will actually cause all of the mobs to drop their heads. So honestly this method probably is not all that useful in Java, but it can be extremely useful in Bedrock because you only need 1 charged creeper to get as many heads as skeletons you can get in that pit.

Idk but for me that was the most time consuming and complicated way to get witherskulls i've ever seen. Not so sure if that is worth the effort. Could've gotten at least 5 in the same time with a standart farm.

and its not that complicating step one: charged creeper step two: have it blow up a wither skeleton

@@exturmal9703 Step one: build hole in front of portal Step two: Find and push wither skeletons inside hole without killing them or dying Step three: Find creeper Step four: capture creeper in boat without the creeper exploding Step five: Wait for thunderstorm to charge creeper Step six: Navigate creeper back to portal and into the hole without the creeper exploding Step seven: Have the creeper blow up Conclusion: One wither skull

Only one drops due to the mechanic allowing one head dropping per charged creeper explosion. So if I blew up a creeper and a skeleton it would be 50/50 that I get either a skeleton or creeper head. It's annoying :(

Am I the only one who thinks it's stupid how rare wither head drops are? I have to run around a fortress for 5+ minutes just to get one to spawn, then even with looting 3 they never drop the head. Like I'm sorry where exactly did his head go when I killed him?

A bunch of prep and resources goes into it, namely the nametags for the mobs to die anyway and a rather dangerous creeper at that, it’s not fast or easy.

The name tags aren't strictly necessary if you leave the nether through a portal nearby.

The reason it's hard is because wither skeletons doesnt spawn commonly in N.fortress its more rare than blazes am not kidding

You could've just as easily killed the skeletons while they were in that pit, instead of wasting all that time getting a dangerous creeper.

I wouldn't call this "easy." You're relying on too many coincedences to end up getting the heads and then even in your video not getting a 100% drop rate. It's an interesting idea though. Maybe it can be tied to a wither skeleton farm and a lightning creeper farm to semi-automate the process.

in my freetime, i might design one and see how it compares to the large spawnproofing wither head farms. it might not be as efficient or easy, but it will probably be easier

@@spocite the lightning creeper farm would probably be the hardest part since you have to get a trident for that. I suppose you could probably try a lightning rod to charge the creepers but it would not be nearly as reliable.

@@darkmojojojo i’m thinking of combining a standard creeper farm without the kill chamber, and then using lightning rods and a channeling trident. I would then use a trapdoor system to move them down into a water stream that would take them into the nether. The channelling trident would definitely be a hard part, but i hope it’s worth it in the end. for the wither skeletons, i think the best option is to spawnproof the entire fortress, and only leave a four chunk area on chunk borders covered in wither skeleton roses, then use a piglin to lure them over near the creepers. i would blow them up by just getting close enough to provoke them. i do not count on my designs to be the best, so i hope that a more experienced farm creator can greatly improve my design in the future (edit: i just realised how long i made this reply. jeez. anyways, i would like you to know that the reason they dont all drop heads is because charged creepers only drop the the heads of the first person they kill)
