Here I discuss quick and easy tips on sewing your own bias skirt, including how to keep the seams smooth, how to install a smooth elastic waistband (no zipper), and how to hem. I also include a few tips on how to sew with silk fabrics. I keep it simple and accessible for beginning to intermediate sewists, no sergers or fancy equipment needed. You CAN sew a bias skirt!

This has been the best bias skirt tutorial! I love the tip about going one to two sizes bigger and making it less clingy and extra floaty. Will definitely be trying that this weekend.

This is such a great tutorial, thanks! Just wondering, do you think a two-tone (different color when brushed in diff direction) all over sequin fabric would work? Or should I treat that like a print fabric that shouldn’t be on the diagonal?
