Not to be too nit picky but. It is supper important to have a pitch on the condensate tube. My mini split had pitch but biologicals grow in pipe. Supper important to keep clean. Wet vac works great to clear and now using condensate pan tablets to minimize growth.

Didn't we already do one of these? It is cool and everyone should replace their existing system(s) with a series for larger homes. Mr. Cool is way more green than traditional and it can heat which is also cool. I just wish we could shorten the line per installation, but that would require a professional.

Great video as always. Watching from Europe where the only thing on a house made out of wood are the trusses for the roof! You have way more options for adjusting after the walls are built etc... What about running all the AC piping inside the wall prior to putting the plaster wall inside? So you don't have to deal with these rails for hiding the lines? Or is that not code?
@SI-GOD
@SI-GOD 18 дней назад
If you do it while the house is being built, you can run the pipes up the wall and across the rafters in the attic then drop down and pop out where ever you need. But... In this case, the walls were already up so he would have had to rip out the walls to his the pipes behind them. This is the way most contractors would have installed an after-market A/C unit.

Nice & cold for summer, but do you have enough solar for heating in winter. Less sun available. snow covering panels & battery storage. Great for summer but iffy in winter.
@josorr
@josorr 18 дней назад
They probably won't plan to rely entirely on solar for winter heat, but it will be adequate for early spring and late fall and will decrease demand for the primary heat source. I have panels that have cut my annual propane usage in half.

🙋‍♀️ Hello Sweet Family!! 🦋⚘️
@peter-hr1gl
@peter-hr1gl 17 дней назад
I'm assuming you put the AC condenser unit up high due to potential snow accumulation under the deck, but do you need it to be THAT high. The reason I ask is given the amount of piping you had, you may not have had to put the kink in it if you put the condenser unit lower. Also it's easy enough to simply shovel the snow from around it if it got up as high as say 2-3 ft. I hope your mollybolt fasteners work over time. I understand your thought process, but I doubt Mr. Cool instructions allowed for that installation method. Why didn't you locate the studs and put at least two screws into studs? You could have easily figured this out from the INSIDE perhaps (yes it would have taken a few holes drilled and some light repair work on the drywall). I'm the type of guy that overdoes that type of stuff as I would hate to have the unit fall to the ground and cause a bunch of damage. Otherwise I liked the video and I bet if you contact Mr. Cool they will probably give you a sponsor fee anyway. Perhaps you could have talked a little more about the electrical wiring performed even though it is very easy from other videos I've watched related to Mr. Cool installations.

There is nothing "off grid" when you need so much tech to repair / fix /buy again, and really... AC? Do I really need to explain that the VAST majority of the world is NOT using AC at all? (yes, including in hot countries). I woould have been more impressed with a tour to tips and techniques to keep cool when it's hot outside (without the need for AC)
@MartinJohnsonOffGridLiving
@MartinJohnsonOffGridLiving 18 дней назад
Off grid means not connected to the power grid. When the power goes off in our region during a storm we still have power. Why? We are off grid.
@meptalon
@meptalon 17 дней назад
@@MartinJohnsonOffGridLiving That's exactly what I meant. You're just producing your own electricity... as long as everything goes well in other places. Any kind of rupture of normality beyond a "normal" (usage of quotes as it still amazes many non-US people to see how frequent disruption in the grid are ion the US) temporary grid down scenario will not have you enjoy those equipments for very long if you can't repair or replace. And my point still stands on AC. The vast majority of the world is doing without just fine
@jimbahneman6553
@jimbahneman6553 17 дней назад
@@meptalon I guess u didn't understand him they are not getting power from the grid if the a.c. unit fails they need assistance to repair it but their power comes from the sun and their own equipment the u.s. power grid could fail for the whole summer and they will have a.c. unless the sun stops chiming
