Spray paint art is the definition of "trust the process". After you lifted the bag I was thinking "that doesn't look that great" then you finished the background and lifted the stencil and I was amazed at how great it looks. Really makes me want to get back into spray paint art. I forgot how fun it can be.
Beautiful!! ❤ the UV paint! It just adds a complete new dimension and look! Am ordering some today and can't wait to try it. Thank you for the excellent tutorials and explanation of what you use & why you're doing what you're doing in each step 😊
HI! from the UK. I have been inspired to try out this type of art .... you are fab. But a question .... are the spray cans a particular type, eg not enamel, solvent based, non solvent based etc? and I have trouble with "subtle" white shading being a bit crude.... how do you get a fine and controllable white highlight finish? cheers.
The only paint I actively stay away from is water based. You want a soft brand for the highlighting or soft caps. A couple of soft brands are Quick Color from Home Depot and Montana White. Any mtn or Montana can has compatible soft caps as well
@@AmethystVazquez1 lol hey I did comment on your post on IG letting you it was me.I shake them like a spider just dropped on my hand lol. Currently I use glossy rustoleum for 🌈 colors and color place (blue can) for blck and white
@Casey L West walmarts brand went through a change recently, like they watered down their cans. I don't use much rustleum anymore besides clear and white, but it's possible they're doing the same. Only solution would be to switch to another brand. Hardcore is what I use, and I don't have many problems and the price isn't too different from rusto anymore. Could be worth checking out, I get mine from blick
You artwork looks awesome! The first time I saw this type of art was in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I think Star Trek would hire you to make settings or cosmic bowling alleys🖖
You are the inspiration for a project with my 10 y.o. grandson. We followed your black and white planet tutorial. It turned out so amazing we are going to have a planet spray party with all 6 grandkids now (ages 5 to 16)! Am so glad to see your planet earth version as we were trying to do one but couldn’t get there. A question: HD store brand is only available in black and white, but we want to expand with colors. Have you used Kobra LOW pressure from Blick? It’s a little cheaper than Rust-Oleum. Thank you for sharing your immense talent!
Just subbed to your channel… Always loved watching this art been created and you explain it so simply and so well, thank you so much Amethyst, I think I might even give it a try myself 🙂🙂
Been dabbling in spray paint art this last week. I know to let the planet dry before putting stencil on, but is it best to let black (space) completely dry for stars?
