Picking a mage that cannot fast clear and no mobility really suck because your teammates especially mm always blame you. Either you help them and miss the gold from your lane or getting trashtalk by your teammates for playing brawl.
I just use cyclops mid. One of the easiest to use. Might be a bit slow at first but if you got items and youre pretty much good to go. Good dmg, pretty durable( I mostly go for 2 def items), have sustain and can pretty much 1v1 with fighter and destroy squishy assasins
Patience and positioning/movement is the key to play cyclops, a lot of players underestimate him which is understandable because most of the cyc I've seen in games are terrible, no patience and positioning sense but if you have these 2 things, then he's a great pick (especially against that pesky flying saucer)
The gold lane is hell to play in because that is the lane that most people focus on, while exp you are essentially left there to do whatever it is you do
that's why novaria I think is the strongest midlaner rn she's the hot pick in ranked and even in any tournament fast clearing, utility, fastest roaming ability among mages and hard to kill bcs she's always hiding in the back of the team and scnd place I think goes to Lylia she's often got picked in tournament idk why ppl not pick her often in ranked match she's really good tho
@@rubriqmeth76Lylia is ez. Just remember that upgraded glooms deal lots of damage, they get upgraded when one gloom eats more and more shadow balls. And if there's no nearby enemy but a near fight that's gonna start stack them up first.
Novaria hard to kill because she can phase through walls. As long you have map awareness, it's very hard to ambush Novaria considering all Novaria skill leave Astral trail (if one part of bushes was pass by Novaria Astral Sphere, the rest of that bushes will be revealed)
really? she doesnt have any cc, in the meta of many dashy heros, and it took her almost half stacks to clear wave... she is basically Novaria with different playstyle. I dont see her anywhere in my matches (solo rank of course)
@@kois196q she have annoying slows in exchange for cc, a skill that could make her reposition during teamfights and can be used to outplay as well and it absolutely doesn't take half of her stacks to clear waves lol, a good lylia player knows how to manage stacks.
In most cases, Novaria is the best mage for the usual clear then rotate strat. However she does get banned often, so prob Valir, Lylia, Xavier, Luo Yi and Gord are also good substitutions but they don’t have the range of Novaria. Before I can consider Yve, Faramis and Pharsa on top of the aforementioned substitutions, but they have major flaws. Pharsa is still really good, a super big ult, decent wave clear speed and can rotate pretty fast with the 4th skill (the bird form), however she is weak against divers who can burst or even cc since stuns and other strong cc can cancel her ult or make her cancel her ult. Faramis can clear the wave fast, and an ult that is really good against divers in tourneys and high rank lobbies but he has to get close like say Valentina to deal damage which will be a problem if the enemy has heroes with spammable cc like Ruby or Fredrinn. And for Yve, I almost want to recommend substituting Novaria with her but it’s just Moontoon nerfed her a bit too hard, the nerfed ice queen wand and reduced built in slow really hurt her but not much for me since in most cases, the roamer has some cc, but the nerf on her wave clear was the final blow and it really puts her out of the priority picks in tournaments and high rank lobbies.
This is what im talking about, the mage rotation and roamer who know mage power and downside will help clear wave or protecting from ambush, visiting the bush is the most important thing to do as roamer, it helps mage know its safe to rotate, or if the roamer helped mage, mage can rotate earlier than enemy mage, so either killing gold lane or freeze the enemy mage from rotate, or just wait him near turtle and ambush the enemy mage who wants to rotate alongside roamer and hyper
As a Luo Yi Main. Lane clearing is really a struggle because you have to use your skill 1 which only has 4 charges. Minions die at the 4th charge in early game. So you wont be able to use your ss since you dont have that much stacks to secure a kill during ganking. Guess they should add damage to her skill 1 on minions.
Definitely, Luo Yi is good for rotation. Some other mages who has skills that allow them to move faster would be the next on the list. Pharsa, Faramis, Novaria, Cyclops, Chang'e, among the others. If you don't use these mages, then do something with your emblem to make their movement speed faster. That also works, I'm telling you. Xavier, Valir or Cecilion who is fast enough with the proper emblem set is definitely good to use. But like Seiya said, be extra mindful of your lane, especially when you visit other lanes and rotate with your Jungler. A tank or fighter who also has decent CC skills is viable for Mages. Even on soloq.
I'm happy you show my main hero Luo Yi. Although she didn't have dash skill, she have all other. Aoe dmg and CC, slow, shield with movement speed and it's all spamable and limitless as long as you keep trigger her passive. If you can't burst her fast enough, it's pretty hard to deplete her shield and she can get multiple shield from multiple target
This is the reason why i like playing odette always, she is fast in clearing, but its hard to gank if your still lvl 2 and lvl 3 because of her skills not that long enough like other mages making you very careful at early game. But when you get her ult thats where the game starting to have fun especially that simple CC like stun and knockback cannot cancel your ulit, just be careful on some heroes that have strong CC skills such as knock up and suppress CC's
I mean, if you're in a duo and want to pick a mage with slow clearing, then having a tank like edith as a roamer can help a lot- I remember doing this several times with one of my friends, I'd use my first to help lower the wave's hp fast then we could quickly rotate to other lanes (in my experience this works amazingly with vex). I haven't seen it outside of that though, so idk. Anyway, bugs for the bug god: Summarised: Zhask's spawn counts as both a creep and hero unit at the same time and the wall hitboxes suck. (I noticed that the damage problems seem to affect all summoned units, but neither sun nor vex seem as badly affected as Zhask, but please correct me if I'm wrong), and in some situations his ult basically just immediately runs out. FIX ZHASK. Can we get a zhask bug fix? His spawn takes full damage from both retribution and dhs (which makes helcurt one shot my ult or me and my passive, and it takes two instances of damage from cursed helmet, one normal and one 350%), he can't ult in minsi's anti-dash field under any circumstance, even when its an on the spot morph, the wall's hitboxes are just broken(I often clearly teleport over a wall and stay on the same side), if you activate his ultimate but subsequently die before morphing, the ultimate goes on cooldown despite the fact that it hasn't really been cast (I think most of us would love i-frames during the morphing phase- between triggering and being in it), when you leave the ult before it ends, and reposition it when its at its despawn range, the animation plays but no ult spawns. Furthermore, casting ult again after this causes its duration to drop to essentially zero and immediately end upon casting, WHICH SURELY COUNTS AS GAME BREAKING, so in conclusion: please help bring awareness about zhask's bugs because the help service doesn't work unless we all spam it I'd presume or someone makes a video. Please make a video.

Gord is somehow underrated when I play. So I rarely see them use Gord. But he is definitely scary if you don't have assassins like lance, joy, hanzo, hayabusa, or basically anyone who can go thru the backlines. Which is why I opt to go for last pick in case gord is not in a situation to poke/support on the backlines.
@@Rayzydiaz I know. That's why I said it's during "my play" or play hours. I could count how many times gord got picked in one hand. Also yeah, I'm mythic honor and sometimes fall to mythic.
mages like novaria and lylia is really good when youre not soloq, they have damage but lack cc, this is fine in duo or trio or full since most of the cc i see is from roam and exp, terizla, arlott, mathilda and minotaur has great cc thats why you can use no cc mid without being punished, if your team does not have cc, do me a favor and adjust
I play mid jungle and roam.they have to do a lot of task like ganking helping sides turtle war Everything is interesting.I always busy and happy.but gold lane and exp makes me bored.
If only eudura's skill 1 has hp based damage against minions it would be much better. And her skill 1 would have the stun instead of the skill 2. Also the skill 2 needs a revamp.
Gord is best in clearing lane, 2nd, 1st combo, and move to other lane without waiting for minions to die. He deals sufficient damage even with 2-3 magic items. Build is warrior/tough boots, ice wand, glowing wand, winter truncheon/necklace/magic wand, immortality, athena/antique curaiss. Spell - sprint/purify Remember gord is not burst damage dealer, but poke, zonal type with this build, with good durability.
@@Hndlsebro novaria has to aim wait for everything, gord can cast his skill from range, & move forward without coming close to minion, he will get all last hit, during early 5 min. But mages are not good in clearing lanes, after 5 min.
Revamped Aurora is also good in rotating. Her second skill is a good assist in stoping enemy on their track, 1st skill does great damage as well and in clash, Ult is good iAoE, not as fast as the original Ulti but still good.😄

First build and setup: Support embrem: (let go healing effect) 10 cdr and bonus movement speed is a big grab 1st talent: agility (mostly people use the cdr one but trust me, movement speed is equally important for lylia) 2nd talent: I use festival of blood so that i could have a total of 20% spellvamp along side ice queen wand which is good enough. U can also use the black Friday sale one (5% discount) 3rd talent: lethal ignition or impure rage (i would personally recommend lethal, once you have talisman mana consumption won't be a big issue) For the build Magic shoes (10 cdr) Talisman (20 cdr) (you now already have 40% cdr) Ice queen wand Nod (only if necessary) or else lighting truencheon (could also opt for genius) Devine glaive Immortality/winter/blood wings 2nd build and setup: Assassin emblem (great pen) 1st talent: agility (for the same above mentioned reason) 2nd talent: festival of blood or black Friday sale (again same reason) 3rd talent: impure or ignition Build: Magic shoes (10 cdr) Talisman (20 cdr) Ice queen wand Fleeting time (15 cdr, 45 cdr completed) Holy crystal/glaive Immortality/winter/blood wings
@@m.zesync after the emblem revamp, the mage emblem has became really less viable because it lacks a really important thing a mage should have which is movement speed in order to rotate fast and also to reposition easily, it also helps you joining a teamfight early and retreating it if your gaurds are down. Moreover it doesn't Excel in both the pen and cdr aapect, assassin emblem penetration claps mage emblem pen anyday and why would you pick mage emblem for the cdr when you could have 5% cdr just by replacing the first talent (but i would always recommend agility for mages), hence the cdr and movement bonus from support embrem also claps mage emblem hard. Lastly the magic power bonus is really not of use as, sure you'll say it's good for early game but you're a mage, u ain't going to play head on from the start like exp laners that you'll be needy of that 30 magic power.
the only time I actually use eudora is when their roam is a support or if their tank is easy to avoid, also I pick eudora if their are enemy hero's that are hard to catch and we don't the mean tonget to them, like novaria, fanmy, ling, harley and selena

Speaking of mid laner, i think that harley is not good at mid lane. He's very slow at clearing lane, i have some experience where the enemy midlane already clear the lane and i still clearing the lane using harley, i have many times when i use him as mid my teammate would call me "brawl mage"
yup i see people like to swipe there camera and it make me sick it so bad because it sudden movement make you dizzy from just watch not to mention play while moving camera....

@@f.hegerfeldt128give her passive or skills some kind of mobility or survivability in general or reduce her cds and make her skills more utility based (other than the stun on her second skill, for example first skill slows ennemies' attack speed or reduce their magic defense by a certain percentage, her ult could be an immobilize when second phase hits the ground etc)
I don't know why but this season I am really bad with mages I usually get chocolates my problem is assassins I don't really know how to deal with some of them (fanny,Nolan, Arlott, paquito) the only thing I learned tho is the mage is good if and only if the tank is good because every time we get a good tank I get MVP (Good tanks rotate with mages to protect them , help them in wave clearing and gank with them)
I don’t play mage that often (I’m more into the support role), but whenever I use mage heroes I always use def boots for def against assassins like the heroes you mentioned. Arcane boots (magic pen boots) isn’t a good idea for midlane mages but best for magic damage junglers. Try def boots the next time you use a mage hero, and add 1 defense item
@@louisebellatrixkim1022 arcane boots are good if you will utilize negpen, but always have to be paired with genius wand. It isn't a bad item for mid laners in general and a good item for junglers
@@HahaHaha-jx4le I don’t utilize negpen/flat pen on most of my mages (except eudora), I prefer to utilize percentage pen because all mages can use it (negpen is more specific). Arcane boots is good, but there are other boots that give you more benefit than that, especially in the early game
i love lo yi so far she is annoying sometimes ehen she do the ying yang reaction and have movement speed which is hard to take down if she is in the good hands together with a good roamer
I hate when I visit and HAVE to stay in other lanes for some time to help, but then the exp,gold, roamer or jungler would clear mid, and I'll never visit again 😃
Well. Lylia and valir play like fighter. Especially lylia as her skill are shorter than other mage. An aggressive lylia often come close to you just to kill you.
