Putts are supposed to be one of the easiest shots in golf, as the shortest swing is used. Reading the greens is the skill.
But how do you read the greens?
I find this the easiest way to simplify green reading, even better than aim point and plumb bob. Once you get this working for your game, your putting stats are sure to improve.
So come with me now to Peebles Golf Clubs 14th green to discuss how I am going to simplify your green reading skills.
EUREKA GOLF SWING
For more of Steve's tuition on a personal basis visit
www.eurekagolf...
For a golf swing that is CONSISTENT, provides a flat left wrist, compression, lag and more. Steve's EUREKA GOLF SWING is now being implemented in 52 countries taking the golfers game to a place that allows the body to turn, the flight to straighten and compression to become a reality.
The starting place is the "iron swing series" offering the set of the Eureka Golf Swing canes and a step by step tutorial of the full action.
REMEMBER: as Steve says, "There is a difference between opening your stance and aiming left".

I used a circular bubble level for a while, but the greens on our muni are like cobble stones. Better explanation of what I was trying. I subscribed today.

I get the theory behind the method assuming the green is flat at all points but that's not allays the case but good method to get people to understand the thinking behind reading the break 👍

They sell golf ball markers that are levelers. But you really need to take multiple measurements between the ball and the hole. Doing all this with every green, every putt, can’t be done during a 9 hole or 18 hole round. Though if the time an expertise with this over time could be beneficial in making your putting better.

Took a large dinner plate & 8 golf balls , drew a nice diagram missed the first 4 putts hit the bottle with the 5th - tried again without the plate - missed first 2 & holed the 3rd. Wow this really works!!

Morning Steve how tall are you and what length of putter do you use I'm 6ft 4 use 35 inch thinking of trying longer. I just watched your putting video , the views behind you were awesome really need to come down and play keep up the good work tiny

Dont know why, but i'm very good reading the green and have a good control of the length. No lines for alligment, only a little marker point on the ball, to fix my eyes on the ball and go. Trust an feel😇 My old Bettinardi/BenHogan🥰

Steve would it not be quicker to find your 6,o o'clock, by plumb line, then use the clock, but that was very good

Great lesson Steve. To make it even better, would require a second camera, operating behind you showing the down the line shot so the viewer can see the path of the ball.

Thanks Steve, I've been combining aim point with that "dead aim" ball marker you were flogging a while back. It means you can line up puts with dead aim's fingers instead of your own, resulting in your playing partners not thinking you're a twat (maybe).
@kevinfraser2482
@kevinfraser2482 2 года назад
I use the dead aim tool as well with the new tracking balls, really helps me concentrate purely on stroke and pace, last 3 rounds 27, 34 and 31 putts, I also like to find the straight(6 o clock) putt too, but not thought about the break as parts of the clock
