To control the audio of what you hear vs what your stream hears requires additional setup. Check out this video I made recently to learn how -> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I8CFhcE3AqY.html
Your discord always seems to be popping. Why do you not have more subs?!?!? We gotta get you there brother. The fact that you've only recently gotten the mv7 is why I'm subbed. You are an amazing resource for the casual and daily streamer/content creator. Showing what is possible with little or free resources. On top of that, this is all scalable information with whatever tier a persons gear is at. Always, always, always a joy to watch your content. I shall dance in the rain to appease the algorithm gods.
I just did the flip to OBS and this has been amazing. I love shooters but to be loud enough for stream has been causing some issues with sensory problems on my end. Now I can add a gain to game audio and everyone can be happy. Plus being able to put a podcast on in the background so others aren't bored by it is also amazing.
@@TheFranswahStudio hey!!!! That’s actually really dope small world lol!!! I really do appreciate it and thank you for this videos helps me out a ton!! 😂😂😂✨
Well, the thing with dual pc set up would be that you would have to separate game audio from the game pc audio source.. I will have to think about this a bit more and think about a solution for game audio on dual pc systems.. but for right now voicemeeter is pretty much necessary there.
You can group them.. then copy & paste them either as a reference or duplicate. One creates the same sources the other creates a new group that you can remove sources from
thanks for the video my man its very useful but for the Alerts , its working but i cant hear the alerts like iam playing if some one donate me or just follow i can hear that by my self but the stream will hear it is there a way to we all hear it ?
If you right click the audio mixer and go to “advanced audio settings” you can set the alerts to “monitor & output”.. this will play the alerts to the output you have selected in obs settings
Hello!!!! This was an amazing video. Everything works perfectly but one thing, I use this setup to stream Call of Duty: Vanguard on twitch and when i add the game as audio capture game chat is not picked up. Is there a way to make it so my stream can hear game chat and death coms? thank you!
not sure if this has been awnsered already but i followed this guide to a T and it works great! only thing i think im having a issue with is the program catching comms. I was playing black ops and it catches all audio except enemy comms for some reason
This was great. I used it to get Discord set up in OBS as it was not picking up the others talking in it. But now I ran into an issue. By separating ALL audio sources (game, alerts, discord, ect.) instead of using desktop audio, IF you use Voicemod with Streamdeck, you get a second Virtual mic and the virtual and your mic cross over each other. Makes talking sound horrible. But if you mute one, you mute both at the same time. Not sure if there is a work around for that or not. I had to go back to Desktop audio for all audio and add discord. Now I have a slight hum in discord while talking, but at least my stream does not hear it, only those in discord that I am talking with. So if you do not use Voicemod, you are good to go. hmmmm......
@@TheFranswahStudio awesome video as always man! I sent a superchat on this video's live chat. I don't think it's showing on the chat replay, I just wanted to make sure it went through 😁 keep up the awesome work man!
Scrolled through and didn't see this as question or in video I don't think? How would I get stream labs alerts to come through still while using this plug-in and having desktop audio disabled?
This is a great video on and the set up was very but when I stream / record the audio has a very noticeable buzzing sound. Probably from over processing of the audio but I'm unsure where to begin in solving the issue.
Hey Daisy, start with just doing a clean restart of your PC if you haven’t. You have to keep in mind when doing this there will be an increase in processing but its not tremendously large as far as processes go on Windows. Start with a restart and lmk where you’re at after that
hi this has help me so much when i had to do a collab with someone. but after that i ran into a problem where in the recordings i sometimes hear a crackling noise that comes froom the game audio ive tryed diffrent games for a video but it apers in them all idk haw to fix it
Is there a limit to or a problem with too many audio sources? Because if I split desktop/system audio as well (while I like the idea) that makes like a dozen additional sources neccessary: Chatbot (with its sound files), sound alerts (from follow, raid, sub and so on), text-to-speech ... I am just not sure, if it is good (or a problem) to have this many seperate audio sources... But nevertheless a great video!
Sup Tobias! So you shouldn’t have an issue with more audio sources.. I’m sure, but need to check, that this plugin uses a system that doesn’t require more and more cpu for each source it simply uses the same protocol for all sources. But again, i do need to verify that. Either way, you shouldn’t have issues outside of that.
plugin its self wont have issue or limit but keep in mind obs its start seeming like it has ton cpu usage once u start hitting x ammount of course this realy just depends on your pc honestly not directly a plugin at the end of this issues u see apear other than cpu but realted is that audio may crackly and pop just somthing to be aware of tho i think given how much u add u may want look into mixer instead but yeah
Thank you so much for uploading this tutorial for new and upcoming streamers and content creators. My only question is: Is there way to prevent my voice being heard twice in discord? Or the only option is to mute the audio track for my microphone instead?
@@TheFranswahStudio Sorry if I'm a bit confusing. I was testing the quality with the mic testing option in the settings. And when I looked at discord output on OBS, the Discord volume was also moving. So I was wondering if maybe if it only works best if I'm in a group discord call and I won't hear my voice bouncing back twice, or it's something. Sorry again if my question is unclear.
@@thegambler975 If you are monitoring yourself on discord and in a call it will play both. you won't be able to monitor yourself in discord while capturing audio from the app using this plugin
Hello, I don't know if anyone will ever read this or find a solution. I installed the plug-in ver. 2.2.3, my OBS version is 27.2.4. However, when I click ok, the only thing the plug-in is showing is Mode and Executables. There is no Window box. It's totally different. what should I do? This is what's inside the plug-in Name="Application Audio Output Capture" Mode="Mode" Mode.Session="Capture audio sessions from a selection of executables" Mode.Hotkey="Capture foreground window with hotkey" ExecutableList="Executables" ActiveSession.Group="Add from currently active sessions" ActiveSession.List="Session" ActiveSession.Add="Add executable" Exclude="Capture all audio EXCEPT sessions from the selected executables" Hotkey.Start="Capture foreground window" Hotkey.Stop="Deactivate capture"
@@TheFranswahStudio i will see what my viewers will think of it. I just finished all the settings, and all the tests have proven to be prommissing. One lil note here btw, i did need to mute my desktop sounds. Otherwise it would still be audioable. And im not entirely sure if u mentioned that point!
I asked this in the last video but might’ve got overlooked. I just wanted to try again in this video, if you have duel PC set up how would you send audio from one PC to the other like VM’s Vban does?
so if lets say i want just to separate Discord and have the ability to keep hearing my friends at 100 while chat hear them at 50% i have to split every other app im using and mute the original sound sources in audio settings? or is it possible to just add/split discord and keep all other sources active including desktop audio? i assume it will double play discord at that time since its coming from the new audio source and desktop audio right ?
Ay man , I did seperated the discord scene just like you showed in the video , but when I test it out at voice & video , I can't hear my sound , how do I fix this?
Is this really better than voicemeeter though? My favorite thing about voicemeeter is the fact that what stream hears and what I hear are similar to each other, my microphone sounds the same wherever (patch inserts/vsthost) and I can control my audio with macrobuttons
It's use-case for persons needs. I do believe I say this is a replacement for many voicemeeter users but not all. It is great for users who dont need this funtion.
@@TheFranswahStudio I figured, but wanted to make sure I wasnt missing something. I ended up using audio monitor with it to achieve what I was looking for. Thanks for the reply!
does this allow me to adjust the volume at which *I* hear things (music for example) without effecting how my viewers hear it? or do i still need voicemeeter for that?
This video I made recently shows you how to do that with this plugin.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I8CFhcE3AqY.html it will require another plugin to do so
Ok but how do I separate out my music app to a separate audio track so that it can be excluded from the VOD/stream recording? Can I do that with this plugin or nah?
Does this setup can make me livestream the game audio only wherein the only thing that the audience can hear is the mic and the game audio while I am listening to any kind of music app or video?
Ahh snap, well, this won’t be as easy. But you could setup the “audio monitor plugin” and a “virtual audio cable” send all the sources to monitor on the “virtual audio cable” and set that as the mic input on streamyard
Is it normal that all my games are very quiet when I do this? I have to do filter and add gain to move it from like 40 to 30s gb. Which I don't mind the gain filter doesn't effect quality at all I don't think just curious
I am pretty confused- How could I do this in Streamlabs? I use them because I can't make my own theme, so it makes things easier for me, but I really can't figure out how to separate my audio like this so I can mute things like my game and my chat while I am playing music from soundcloud for example- OR how to pull music from OBS itself and use JUST it with everything else muted-
Awesome! I finally have a way of controlling discord and spotify. Thanks a lot for this! One thing I do not see however is capturing the sound from a capture device (Elgato and Avermedia). In this case Avermdia, as it only searches for open windows and such software is not an open window. This forces me to still capture desktop audio. Any idea?
On a dual pc system this setup wouldn’t work exactly the same. You’d have to setup your sources in the stream pc and use the capture card as the game audio.. and use voicemeeter to pull the audio sources off of the game source.. unfortunately
@@MrTemplarDrake not necessarily.. The capture card typically creates an audio source for you obs windows if you are using it in this way... you should use that audio source
I would add just by application.. as system audio will add all system audio and would create a looping effect. I suggest you try it, but I’m sure it wouldn’t work
i play warzone and ingame chatt how do i config game sound and when my team is speaking in diffrent audio source with this new plugin,or do i need to set it up like i used to do in my audio settings
I use this method but when it comes to game chat i am unable to hear like the other people in game chat in my streams when seperating the audios. how do i fix that?
What I don't like is if you're playing a PC game you always have to change the EXE to that game or use a capture card but if your one PC gaming kinda screwed
So the game audio will have to be added for each game individually? Kind of a pain. Seems like that'd either have a ton of audio sources never producing audio, which would make the interface kind of a mess; you'd have to have separate scenes for each game, which is a bigger mess; or you'd have to manually reset the game audio channel to the game you're currently playing every time you stream/record a new game. Seems like that last option would be the cleanest solution in the interface, but you'd have to make sure it's recording audio every single time if you're recording and don't have immediate feedback from viewers, otherwise you really run the risk of having a whole recording session with no game audio. Ew. Is there a workaround for this?
Ofc it has its downsides. You’re either using voicemeeter and dealing with the headache of inputs and outputs and buffer, crackling, latency, etc. or, you set up each game source individually. Or, you use voicemeeter just for game audio and this for everything else on stream. The big thing this plugin offers is more options.
OBS updated and now there's no Application Audio Output Capture source, I was using it and now none of my audio is getting captured, only my mic. Please help
everything works, but when i make the audio capture for another app, and choose it with all the correct settings, the program says theres no audio playing
Did OBS get rid of the "Capture Specific Window" mode? Whenever I click the 'Application Audio Output Capture' the only modes available are "Capture audio sessions from a selection of executables" or "Capture foreground window with hotkey". Neither of which work to separate the audio tracks, they're not recognizing my RU-vid Music Player as an application or window.
Hey I have a bit of a problem, everything is working fine however I can't find multiple games to put into the audio. An example of this is Apex Legends which doesn't show up as an audio option
The only downside is you can't lower the volume for you only aka if your music is too loud in voice meeter you can lower the fader down and it turns the music down for you only while keeping the stream volume untouched.
Haha no worries! If you right click the mixer you can go to “advanced audio options” and toggle different tracks for each audio source. You’ll have to record your videos in a video format that supports more than 1 audio track
The only problem I have found with this plugin is that if you route your game audio it more than likely won’t pick up the “in game comms” with it. Making it non-usable if you want “in game comms” It could vary from game to game but all it takes is one game to ruin the experience.
Hi i want to ask for some reason my browser audio (or any other i tryed spotify ) would not pick up... im not sure why , would any one here know . i was doing it step by step as showed on video :D. For any reply i thnk before :)
I’ve been using this but randomly lost my in game voice chat the other night. Now I have to use voicemeeter again. The game I lost it in was warzone and it was just the in game party chat. My mic works fine and the game audio is there but my party cannot be heard.
In a situation with party can’t be heard we will have to look into it more. This still makes it easier even if you use voicemeeter for the game audio source and this plugin for the other sources. Will have to look into more
@@TheFranswahStudio agreed. I’m going to have to delve into it. It was random and on stream that the audio went out. I don’t know yet. Thank you for your response.
PLEASE HELP i downloaded and it works but i do not see capture speicific window i just just the bottom 2 options and when i pick one of them the sound still doesnt play, i tried everything and yes my headset is disabled i followed everything exactly but whats the problem? please help please
@@AchieveSteveGaming hi guys, alright i went into the issue as well and i found a solution. When you click onto the dudes link, click on "Releases" on the top left side. Then scroll all the way down to where it says "win-capture-audio v2.1.0-beta", theres two there and you choose the one that has ""win-capture-audio-2.1.0-beta-setup.exe" containing 1.98MB you can find this by clicking on "Assets" of each version. (i havent tried the other one). Click on assets then download the one you prefer, I just downloaded the ones other youtubers told me to which is the "win-capture-audio-2.1.0-beta-setup.exe" one. Afterwards things should look like how its shown on the video. The problem with the link is that the website updates from time to time and we need to do a few extra steps to get the exact same one that the many other youtubers who are telling us to download :)

My game audio is not picking up when people talk in game (game chat). How can I fix this so that my stream/viewers can hear the people talking in my game?
Don't know what game you are talking about but I guess it is Valorant because in that the VoiceChat goes over a separate Audio Source so you would have to make one for this. If it isn't Valorant I can't help you. (Also I don't know if that is 100% correct)
