EASIEST Zombie & Skeleton Mob Spawner XP Farm | Minecraft 1.21 Tutorial 

This farm is for Bedrock and Java edition!

Tip: whenever farming xp, turn your game to hard mode... for me it seems that more mobs spawn and they spawn more often with armour

Two notes to improve the farm by a lot: for skeletons add powdered snow and a cobweb right above the kill chamber to turn skeletons into strays, and for zombies add water to turn them into drownds. They’ll give you both the regular loot and extra loot on top of that. Great farm, very effective!

Important Thing : Make sure to fill all the caves near the farm with torches. this way, the mobs will spawn faster

Nice, although personally I prefer to afk above the spawner just close enough to trigger it, then elevate the mobs overhead and give them fall damage. It's just nice to get as close to the surface as possible.

Tip : never dig straight down and fall into a cave like me

You can make this farm even better by making the bottom where the mobs end up 3 blocks wide (put a block on the left of the dropper too) since more mobs will pool down there and not die from overcrowding in a 1 block space

It works perfectly on bedrock edition! For those wondering, skeleton spawn every like 15-20 seconds, at least for me

pro tip: place a vine on the bottem block of the killing tube to remove the entity craming limit so this means you can go afk and let the mobs build up more and then kill them all at once

I'm sure enderman farms and other XP farm types can absolutely load you up with XP but this one gets me from 20 back to 30+ in like 15 minutes just browsing on my computer and afking while they build up. also, infinite arrows and bone meal so big plus a couple notes for anyone looking to improve the odds if only slightly: You found this spawner underground, make sure that the rest of the cave system is lit up obviously, and listen for other nearby mobs while your spawner is deactivated. dig to nearby cave systems and light them up as well, this is a given but some people might need to hear it also, from my limited testing, this type of farm doesn't support letting the skeletons fall to 1hp from fall damage, To mitigate this, and save myself some sword swings, I have a normal fall pit to take them to 1 hp, and set up a waiting floor (at the depth this video tells you to have the kill floor at) and I just built a bubble elevator to make my way back up to the waiting room. This way I can get entity cramming levels of skeletons, then quickly hop down, one shot them then head back up to wait for more.

Omg, this works. The hardest part is ti remove torches to make them spawn. I got so much xp and arrows. Tysm

Thank you! And FYI, to the people trying this, your Y level affects spawn rates. The lower you are, the lower the spawn rate.

A helpful tip, SET your game on HARD MODE, set the render distance as low as you can, and SIMULATION to the very very lowest and this should help the skeletons spawn in way more, I’ve tested this and it works

This works well. I did have trouble going back into the room taking the torches out but I still managed to do it and I get xp very fast. Thanks 👍

Tip: instead of using full blocks to stop the skeletons from shooting you, use 1 slab so the skeletons shoot each other and kill each other. Then it’s just automatic

Thanks for the guide! I had trouble placing the hopper, I finally did it placing a temporary block instead of one chest, and then placed the hopper. The edge faces the temp and you just have to replace it with a chest

u can dig the hole lower so more damge can be on the mobs and the mobs can be 1shot

This farm is very fast. I definitely recommend that you build this in your survival world. I got 10 levels within no longer than 10 minutes. This is good. Keep it up.

i'll say this is the SIMPLE version, and personally having them go up and over then dropping them to where they are a 1 hit kill is a much better method but hey to each their own

love this farm! always the first thing to go up in a new world. although i gotta say- absolutely horrible to do in deepstate with an unenchanted iron pickaxe

Great tutorial, although, heads up: You should make the hole from the 1x1 block about 19 blocks deep for maximum farm effeciency as that leaves zombies with about a heart of health left.

This was so easy to follow, last time I tried to make a skeleton farm it was so difficult and I was trying for so long that the skeleton in the spawned despawned, rendering all my progress useless - if anyone can let me know how that happened then please do, I haven’t found any other information about it happening

Great tutorial, other than the fact I found a fun little lava pit right under my spawner and died, (I had all netherite so we’re chillin, only lost the mats to build the xp farm) it works great and super easy to do. Thanks man 👍

Accidentally picked a spawner not far above bedrock was about 6 blocks down and still pretty much worked spawn rates might not be as ideal but still getting xp

The chest fills up easily, so if you need more storage: go one block infront of the double chest and break both blocks. Place another double chest there. Dog under the first chest and place two hoppers, both facing the second chest Repeat until you have enough

This is the best skeleton farm, it's easy to build, very efficient, and better than any other skeleton farms.

In my 8 years of playing minecraft ive never made a functional mob farm, thak you for helping me through make my first one!

This farm works beautifully for me,my only complain is that the skeletons aren't one hit unless you have an op enchanted sword (diamond or netherite). And I wish you would make a sorting system and a way to dispose of all the useless bows.

When i was mining the 10 blocks down i fell in lava :( (i was in hardcore) Edit: i survived lesssss gooooo🥳🎉

This is perfect! I didnt even have to leave the cave to get materials. Took me about 30 minutes? When placing the ladder, i stayed 1 block below the water (so only place 8 ladders). Then i mined 2 blocks tall (so u can walk) 5 blocks ahead (towards the entrance i wanted). Make sure its 5 blocks so it clears the farm, then mine the appropriate blocks up/down/etc. Now you have a clean entrance wo needing to deal with the zombies! Also i placed a slab on the hopper which makes the farm exactly at eye level and you dont need to put the 3 slabs on the blocks. I also recommend turning off hostile mob sounds.

Thx for the tutorial i really need xp for enchants cuz I have max enchantment table and eficieny 4 costs 30 xp so yeah and good thing i remembered i had a mob spawner near home i was thinking to do the big mob spawner

Tip: if you want to afk just for what they drop and not the exp, go in the same chamber that they're in, you won't die, try it.

Im so unlucky, i didn't realize the spawner was in -51 😭

Mine is spawning very slowly i have lit all the caves i can find but it is still like 2-3 spawn then a good 20 seconds later maybe longer 2-3 more spawn is that normal or slow? Thought it was more constant.. there is a spider and zombie spawner near by but i have them turned off

Extra advice- If you dig just a touch lower (23 blocks instead of 15) You can instead punch the mobs meaning no wasted durability on grinding. You can also make the killzone 3 blocks wide instead of just the one, so mobs dont die from entity packing

For everyone making this if its a skeleton spawner instead of a slab place a solid block with glass on top then remove the solid block makes it slightly faster. If you are wondering its 0.8% faster
