🎸Hey! if you haven't watched, I have a video on instantly converting audio to MIDI → ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MbiQzNPIWWg.html ✨Join the Reapertips discord → discord.gg/BfEnFwjeWZ BTW the fun song I used in this video was made by my good friend Christian Richardson. Song name is Hazy. Check out his album "A Handful of Sporadic Demos" for a bunch of cool riffs! :D
Me too... The developer has showed that you can make the detector to work in pretty much any way you want (triggering the hi hats from the overheads, or the second note in a piano chord) so long as you know how the hi and low filter works in conjunction with the filter gain. Problem is that the detector is so quirky sometimes that setting the low filter gain close to the high filter is the only time it works.
Another method i've used is using Dynamic split, once you get the sensitivity right, tick the create Midi item checkbox and split. The only other thing to do is make all the midi notes the same note and you're done. I'll give these other methods a go for sure. Cheers!
thank you for bringing this up! had no idea, just tried it and it's very clever :D I think for electronic producers this is super helpful to get MIDI out of drumloops real quick~
I was so happy when you teach me about 2nd time render possibilitie.. This was really useful. If I can ask another question: Perhaps you can advise on how to export MIDI clips in such a way that when importing them back into Reaper, they remain the same length. Currently, I'm puzzled why some MIDI clips are shorter when re-imported than they were originally. Surely, there must be some trick here that I'm not immediately grasping. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Can these be used for livestreaming? For example, I'm getting sound from my mixer console into reaper and I want to send the audio out post eq. Will these plugins work to change my drum sound?
The first instance of MK Slicer wouldn't run for me, it gave an error. The second one called 80icio MOD did work. I'd probably use SD3's audio/MIDI conversion for this but I was interested to see how it could be done. On another note entirely: the fonts in MK Slicer scale with size, so it can be pulled out to be easily legible on a 4K monitor. You know, the thing we've been asking for for many years to be native to Reaper and which never happens... Any chance the script author could teach this magic to the devs?
And again a very informative video! I like the way you explain things to us! If you create a video about the mk slicer soon, I will honour it with a coffee! ☕️
Love your vids. I also subd! Quick question. I have a midi keyboard and I love the sounds on the keyboard itself. How do I get those sounds to midi in reaper. Thanks for the help and great job
I would do this with MKSlicer. Simply duplicate the item for each piece you want, then using the filters to only get those markings. For example, kick can be 10hz to 80hz, snare can be 150-400, hihat can be 10k and so on! There's also this multi-band gate for audio drums to MIDI track template that someone just mentioned in the comments, it's very clever and does a similar thing! → stash.reaper.fm/v/48244/Multi-band%20gate%20for%20audio%20drums%20to%20MIDI%20conversion.RTrackTemplate
This is great but what I need to know is turning a full drum track into midi. Is it possible to do this if you don't have the tracks separated? That's the video I need.
