I almost never layer...I overheat and get red-faced too easily. But I'm still taking some of this info with me, and may try layering again as it cools off here. And the discussion about patterns, textures, and colors are great! I'm a big fan of interchangeable wardrobes...best bang for your buck!
On the Leather Jackets video people were complaining that the Jacket he was wearing was to big, this video shows perfectly why a leather jacket should be a little bigger just to have enough space to layer. Great video.
Layering is very important in Sweden during winter because of the cold weather. And knowing how to do it with style is therefor very helpful in helping you be well dressed even in the winter. Good job Antonio!
I so do love herringbone tweed jackets in the fall and winter. They are my go to in my casual business environment at work or going out with the wife. So glad the cooler weather is coming back.
It's funny, you see a lot of layering in tv shows even when it doesn't make any sense for the weather, probably because it just makes for a more visually engaging look. The ability to combine various textures and colors really allows you to build a unique outfit (not to mention accessories as you mentioned). Great vid Antonio, and timely! Looking forward to fall 🍂
Good examples. The double button ( shirt and sweater ) was a bit different but worth trying. Might be great for a casual Sunday night. Can't wait to give that a few test runs
Hey Antoinio, once the weather here in California cools down, I can't wait to practice layering. I'm just loving the content you provide, and I even watch the old ones on the archives, I experience the evolution of your channel and you! I for one, enjoy the podcast! I wish you just don't edit those down. I'm always on the road and if you put an hour or more episode on the podcast, I will listen. Thanks again Antonio!! #RMRS
Personally I've developed a system for this. Each piece of an outfit (pants, shirt, sweater, jacket) has its own color family/group that correspond with eath other without exceptions. This has worked flawlessly for me. Since I've started using this method I didn't have to think about putting things together. They always work.
Love how you are describing the top layers!! But I would really like to see the complete outfit with the jeans/pants and shoes/boots. Thanks 🙏🏻 Antonio
Thank you for the great video, Antonio. Always a professional presentation and I just love watching these because I get so many great ideas about what to buy and how to style when selling men's clothing online.
I think that your 10 principles are really good and I agree with that fit is very important and also keeping it simple. I must say that Territory ahead makes an excellent job on the fit and keeping it simple yet make each piece interesting and they are probably one of my favourite sponsors that you have worked with along with J.L Rocha.
I honestly don't understand why Antonio's sub-base has stopped watching his videos. The quality has remained the same and this one in particular I've found super helpful. I imagine this sorta thing would be super frustrating to deal with.
I don't know... Personally, I'd go with a v-neck, but when the outer shirt only has a few buttons at the top instead of buttoning all the way down, I feel it still works for a more rugged and slightly more casual feel.
I've been a long time viewer and subscriber, and I think this is my favorite video you've ever done! Keep up the good work. Also, I'm asbolutely in love with the outfit combination you have going on in this video. That leather jacket is gorgeous!
Tonio- Thanks for the Territory Ahead reccommendation - Browsing the website, I see they have a ton of awesome looking clothing for manly men, my size!
Hey Antonio! I see that there are more stores selling glasses for people that don't actually need glasses. Is this something that you shouldn't buy or can it be an extra fashion item?
I would like you to talk more about the color wheel and how different colors make people feel. Also, I am curious how to know which complementary colors work and which do not. Thanks!
The rule about having all the layers able to stand on their own is spot on. I would add that another reason why, is that if you get hot and want to take off a layer, you don't want to be self-conscious about choosing to look bad or get heat-stroke.
As in what are the proper combinations of cowboy hats over dressy shirts and jeans adorned with oversized belt buckles? Well, it's that, and if you're over 40, add a blazer over the shirt. If I'm misguided about this, it's just because I've never been there :D
I love you. God bless you man. One day i'll meet you and give you a hug man. Nohomo, but you helped me soooo much to grow confidence and to work on my goals and dreams. I'mnna come all the way from germany over to the usa one day, and tell you what you helped me achieve!
I'm sweating just looking at Antonio's outfit. Personally I'd need to be at minus 20 in the arctic circle before wearing a shirt, pullover and heavy leather jacket. I just run too hot to layer up.
I know that it sounds a bit illegal... I am a girl and watched this video to dress more masculine in future. Now I feel like a teen that had a deep conversation with dad about 'how to impress girls')
Antonio, i wanna be a gentleman, but the problem is that 3 yrs ago, i pushed myself outside of my comfort zone and brought myself into this situation where i don't like my personality. I tried to be one of the "cool-guys" or "bad-boys" and now i wanna be the mature smiling person, and not an unethical, unsympathetic, loud, ill mannered person that i have become. It sounds like its easy, but for me its like flipping my entire lifestyle and personality. Ive tried watching vids on how to be a gentleman, but in actual situations i forget all about them. Please help me
"Faux" is a French word meaning "fake." It is French so the "au" are combined and the "x" is not pronounced. "Faux" is pronounced like "foe", not like "fox."
I thought you were going to prove a point on why sometimes less is more with what you're wearing, those 3 layers didn't look good on you. Especially not the blue inner.
Looks like a decent rugged look to me. And both the blue and olive colors are very versatile and are not fighting eachother in my eyes. What makes you dislike it?
Great video my man, but I personally think that it looks weird to layer to pieces of clothing with a similar upper structure. Having a button-up-shirt under something which also has buttons going towards the neck, just looks off. To me, I almost looks like you are wearing 2 shirts on top of one another.
Hey Antonio, I love your videos, please keep doing what you're doing. That being said, PLEASE stop pronouncing "faux" the same as you would the animal "fox". You've done this in more than one video recently, and it is SO disappointing and irritating to hear you say "fox". It's pronounced "f-oh". It's a loan word from the French, meaning false. You are very good at what you do, but lose a lot of credibility with me when you don't pronounce words correctly. Again, it's "f'oh". The "X" is not pronounced. Thanks and keep up the good work.
This is one of the reasons I stopped watching the TMF videos. He spoke too street, too ignorant for me to take seriously. The last straw was when that young man pronounced bass, and in a deep bass voice, or bass guitar, as you would pronounce bass, the fish.
I know this isn't the correct place to talk about this, but I have been so impressed with Anson Belts. They sent me a duplicate by mistake, and are now sending me another one for free. The quality is AMAZING and I cant thank you enough Antonio for putting me on to this brand. For anyone else, this is the review where I discovered Anson belts: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a1VD2QFF4Zs.html&t
