#DIY #Hobbylobby In this episode I'll show you how I took a Hobby Lobby bright gold mirror and turned it into a high end beauty. In less than 30 minutes.
The mirror looks absolutely gorgeous. I am so happy that the tub issue appears to have a happy ending. As always, thank you for the scripture. It's always important to be reminded, of things some of us may take for granted. Have a lovely, blessed day, dear Nancy. 🏡🙏🏻🪞☀️🌼🤗👏🏻
Just beautiful!! ❤️😍❤️ the mirror looks incredible. I've started reading the Gospels... Finished Matthew, Mark, & Luke. Now John... 🤗🌿🐰🐣🐥🌷 it's been many years since I've even attempted to read the Bible but this time, it all makes sense. Maybe it's maturity? 🤔 I've been working so hard on many changes for my mind, body and spirit. Something in me is renewed! I'm exercising, losing weight ... eating low carb, gave up sugar, increased protein, and on March 14th it will be 1 year since my last cigarette! My only regret is I wish I had started caring about myself sooner. 🌿 🙏 have a blessed week.
congratulations on all of your accomplishments!! Don't beat yourself up as what you are doing now is better than never and it takes a lot of commitment to do what you are doing and have done. xoxo
Wow! I love this for so many reasons! Praise God for the many good things happening in your life! Congratulations! And thank you for sharing this. I know it will inspire and encourage many others. God bless you Honeybee as you continue to walk with Him!♥♥
The mirror came out awesome. I'm excited to see your bathroom finished. I'm glad you were encouraged about how to fix the spot on the tub. I always enjoy your scripture at the end. I've sent in my request to join your fb group. I bet it will be a fun group. xoxo
Hi Nancy ~ Thanks for the update. I'm glad to see you're making steady progress on the bath reno! Your mirror will be a beautiful focal point. And the fact that the tub paint can be fixed is a relief. Yes!! Praise God for His mercy and grace, and especially for salvation through Jesus. Blessings on you and your family. ❤
Wow what a beautiful result. Looks very much like the expensive one without the cost. God bless you, Nancy and your week. Sending prayers and hugs your way. 🌺🌸🌺
I so enjoy your renovation and DIY journey, your ministry and your gentle spirit. Thank you for your uplifting presence and I look forward to joining your Facebook group. Have a blessed week! ~Carolyn
Thank you so much, Carolyn, for your kind words. I'm happy to see you've joined the FB group, and I look forward to getting to know you better. I appreciate your encouragement.♥
Your mirror is so lovely. Great job! I've always liked that Hobby Lobby mirror, but like you, I felt it was too bright gold. Thank you for the inspiration. Also love the scripture you shared this video. ❤
Great job on the mirror. You are very resourceful in finding methods to achieve the finish you want. Im anxious to see it in the remodeled bathroom. ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
Looks great I’ve had similar success with rub and buff using Spanish copper and European gold. It’s hard to get all the colours in the UK though, I’m trying to get the colour patina in the rub and buff but having no luck at the moment.
Hi Jemma! I did want to use rub and buff initially, but as I mentioned I had trouble getting it here. I've never used it, but would like to try it. There was another comment here from a viewer that used $1 craft paints which she said gave the same effect. There are so many different techniques. Very interesting. Have a great day!♥
I love those mirrors too & recently bought a black one. I got mine at Kirklands, I don't know if you have that store near you. I waited for their sales & I got it for $79 from $149. That process seemed to work well. I don't like bright gold either. That came out great.
I'm glad you found what you wanted at such a great price. After I finished my mirror I saw that Sam's had one similar to the one I bought at Hobby Lobby for under $80. It was a good price, too.♥
The mirror looks great. FYI, you can achieve the same look with a bottle of bronze, and a bottle of gold craft paint from Walmart for $1. Like you, I dab on a layer of gold paint with paper towels. By the time I have the first layer of gold on (it dries pretty quickly), I can go back and do a layer of bronze, and then finish with a final layer of gold. I use this method to age my gold picture frames. It’s cheap, odorless and gives the same results. A little paint goes a long way, I’ve had the same 2 bottles for years. We bought a house with beautiful oil rubbed bronze door handles, but they used silver hinges on all the doors in the master bedroom. I used the bronze paint and a tiny paintbrush and painted all the hinges bronze. It’s little touches like that that make it look $$.
I really enjoyed watching this mirror transformation and will be watching to see it hanging in your new master bath! The result is so in keeping with the style of your home, and definitely inspirational! Thank you for showing the product that you used! It's good to hear that you got help from customer service about the little area on your tub! That turned out so beautifully! As always, I appreciate your scripture reading and feel uplifted as I do reading the devotionals on your Joyful Cottage blog. I am not on FB, but will check to see if I can stay under the radar and participate in just your page. Your shirt is so pretty again, Nancy!
I know what you mean about FB, Karen. It took me awhile to figure out how to have a FB Group Page and not have to operate a personal page. I left FB years ago and haven't missed it. I do think the group page will be fun though. There are so many wonderful women that visit this channel, and who have already joined the group. Thank you for your ongoing encouragement!♥
Your mirror looks great. I can't wait to see it in your space. I hope the redo on the tub goes well. I continue to lift your family up in prayer daily. John James just spent 4 days in the hospital and has some important tests coming up. We appreciate your prayers 🙏 ❤
Anne, thank you for the update on John James. I am praying for him and these tests. It would be so wonderful to see him get some permanent help. We'll pray to that end! God is good.♥
The mirror turned out as beautiful as the inspiration piece. I know those are pricey, I've seen them on different sites and they are expensive. Thank you for sharing🥰
It may have been a bit easier if you would have let the stain set for about 5 minutes before wiping off. Just would have saved you time. It looks lovely.
Thank you Nancy for your scripture readings. They and you are always so encouraging to me. I love how the mirror turned out and it looks just as good as the Wayfair one that is three times the price! I will have to try that stain on a few of my gold picture frames.
Good morning Nancy.....great transformation on your new mirror! I searched your new Facebook page, but was unable to find it. My search was "A Joyful Cottage Group Page", ni match at all. Do you have a link to the page? Have a wonderful day...Ellen~
Thanks for your encouraging words. Not everyone wants to hear about Jesus (I received some negative comments when I first started my channel), but that doesn't deter me. He's first and central to my life and I will honor Him on my channel as long as it exists. God bless you.♥
@ajoyfulcottage Romans 1:16. On Sundays, I do Scripture verses on my community tab. I always joke to my husband that Sunday's are my "weeding out the atheists day." 😉 Seriously though. I love the atheists, too. They need the Lord like all of us. When I see others on youtube TRULY "walking the walk" and not just saying they are a Christian, I want to encourage them to keep it up. (90 percent of the girls in my channel niche claim to be Christian, but never talk about Christ. I think that is sad) It's a dark world, and we have the Light. Matthew 5:14-16 God bless!
