Pixelmator Pro was just updated to version 3.6 and it has an amazing new feature - AI Background Masks. With a simple selection of a menu option, lots of tedious work was eliminated. The background of an image was instantly removed.
And being realistic, I'm just not that good at masking an image with fur. Fluffy is a cat, a very challenging subject for creating a clipping path. Pixelmator Pro did in seconds what I would struggle with for roughly an hour.

First! I had a job erasing backgrounds for a budding website back in the '90s. It's nice to see AI replace it. Boring and tedious work.

It can be tedious work. But in general, I've found image editing more relaxing and satisfying than web development. If image editing is your job, and you like that job, what does this technology mean for you? 🙀 In the short term, a pro probably could do a better job. I looked at the image more closely and I noticed that the tip of Fluffy's tail was cut off. Also, many whiskers were chopped off too. The app created a mask, which could be refined, so that seems like a nice starting point.

@@PhoticsTV If image editing is your job, this could be a great thing. Manually removing backgrounds is the boring part. Putting the cat in orbit is the fun part. More time for the art of creating and less tediousness. It's a win-win!
