A quick video explaining how to repair small patches and strengthen rotten wood. This video is for a guide only, always assess the structure you are working with to decide if it can be repaired or if it needs replacing.
I used two Ronseal products to complete the tasks.
Step one was to use the Wet Rot Wood Hardener and once dried step two was to fill the hole with Ronseal Wood filler.

Did you use a hardener in the joint before using the hardener and filler?

ERROR : You must soak the wood with the clear hardener. Saturate the rotten wood.

Yes of course... Check out my video of the bench I recently saved. I used both of these, sanded then painted and you'd never know 😊

well with the way contractors are getting back to me (tiling, etc) that's a total saving of £4,000 and another days work. Yes I'm unemployed and I don't have a wife that wants a new kitchen! I swear the only reason they painted the house is the police obviously had plans on selling it....

It probably would have been cheaper, stronger, and faster to have bought one redwood board to replace the two rotted planks. The repair looks terrible. Probably should have let it dry and sanded it.

Well yes, but the video would be boring, and people want to see a cheap and cheerful option rather than replacing a window or door frame. I would have thought that is obvious??
