A wonderful display on Saturday, Jonny, and a great pity about the lack of wind for the night fly and Sunday. A great addition to the carnival, and spectators must have been thrilled, although there were not as many of them as I would have thought you deserved.
@@JimNicholls thanks Jim, it’s was a shame about the wind and it’s hard not to feel like you are letting people down. There were plenty of people around, just so unusual to have an Easterly wind this time of year, so the kites had their backs to the audience. Not the best arrangement, but just another day of weird weather. Hopefully if we do it again the wind will return to the prevailing South East, where we can fly down the beach and make the most of the area available.
Saturday daytime was as good it gets. I suspect with all the sealife kites on display you all must have felt a tinge of remorse on sacrificing one of them for dinner! Night kites are really an expensive roll of the dice. The wind always falls off over here too after dark. They do look spectacular in the sky, but the ground display was quite clever. Sunday is just the reason why I learned to fly panying eagle kite. All in all a very entertaining video and a great outdoor event. Congrats.
@@PanyingPilot thanks for the nice comments Glenn. It truly is a great event and we are proud to be a small part of it. It’s hard to get a display going for the illuminated kites, but when you can it’s magical. We have enough between us to wait for those special moments. We need you as our reserve, eagle soaring across the vast empty beach. That would be spectacular
