Wow cool video it's sad to see these train cars abandoned at the east broadtop yard on the train tracks it'll never be opened again 😭😭 hopefully they turn it into a hiking biking trail in the future
YOU ARE ALL WRONG. I'm a member of the FEBT and am sickened by what you guys said NO we don't have the money to purchase the whole railroad but NO WE ARE NOT CLOSED FOREVER get your facts straight before you post.
EBTPS already purchased a portion of the railroad. 2 mil they paid and have to come up with 6 mil to acquire the rest of the line. It is the only narrow gauge railroad of North America of its kind. To save the whole line and start a rigorous rehabilitation of the buildings, ROW, track, structures, and rolling stock should be first on the agenda. I would rather they focus of preservation and restoration instead of operating at this time. ALOT of the RR needs attention.
Josh Z I didn't fully read your post you are correct, in all honesty the best situation is if a certain someone passed away and their family sales the railroad for scrap price and the preservation society gets it for dirt cheap. Otherwise it's gonna be hard to come up with that money to purchase the rest of the railroad even with salone's crazy idea of building a trans load facility at mt union at hauling freight it's a bit ridiculous. Just my 2 cents. Oh btw Salone only bought the standard gauge trackage and the land in the yard not the track or rolling stock.
Pfft remains... HAHAHA. Buddy, the E.B.T is forever frozen in time, because it was abandoned, all of it none was scrapped. They could probably still run a train down the full line if they wanted to.
not true - THEY REOPENED PART IN 2020 and are working on running southward. Serious new money is involved. There is also activity at Robertsdale. Please check your facts before you post. Thanks!
