Love your vids Lucas. I watch them all the time. I love bushwalking with my dad and your videos are so useful. I sit down and watch your vids with my dad every now and then or when we’re going on a trip. In my class I’m “the geography king” which is partly thanks to you. I have missed you uploading those great videos but that’s ok. There is not one video that you didn’t master, they all bring me joy watching you go through the Tassie wilderness. Thanks for being such a legend. 👍 Btw have you did you ever do federation peak and can you get to mt ida easily without a canoe?
Thanks mate, I'm happy to hear about your enjoyment of the vids 😊 I did get to federation actually! It was November last year - came in via farmhouse creek and stayed 2 nights at cutting camp. Epic trip with perfect weather! Technically you could do Ida without a canoe or other sort of water craft, but it would involve getting to narcissus hut and walking down the lake towards Ida on the eastern side. Or you could come from through the walls of Jerusalem. I can't make any promises about more videos, especially when you factor in the fact I'm currently living in QLD because of a new job I started at the beginning of the year. But never say never haha.
Another great video mate. Weirdly enough I’ve never been out the eastern side of Cloudy Bay despite having made several trips around the western circuit. Might have to change that soon! Thanks for sharing.
@@LucasChamberlain good but surprisingly tough and very wet! Your campsite was half a metre underwater! We were lucky to find a spot just big enough to squeeze both tents into.
Haha little did I know at the time it might have been my final video. I don't want to rule out ever posting again, but I definitely did lose the motivation to edit video after video.
Hi Lucas, it's been awhile since you last posted a video. Do you have anything up your sleeve in the coming weeks? I'm coming down to Tas to walk Frenchmans Cap over new years, as long as borders don't close again. Till then, happy Christmas and thanks for sharing your adventures this year.
Hey Jim, there are a number of reasons why I haven't posted much recently. One of the reasons is that I've kinda lost the enjoyment from editing and filming the walks I head out on. The editing in particular has felt like a chore recently, so I've been walking without filming recently, and it's been quite refreshing. There's a chance I might see you out Frenchmans way depending on what dates you go haha - I'll be out on that track from January 5-12.
@@LucasChamberlain hi Lucas , happy Christmas and new year. I'm stoked to finally be in Hobart to start Frenchmans tomorrow. Getting covid tests in Sydney to enter Tasmania has been challenging, and Sydney airport was nearly deserted this morning with lots of flights cancelled. The weather is looking good for the coming days so sunrise on the Cap on Jan 1st looks promising. I hope your walk / work goes well too.
Did I? I suppose I probably did at some point haha. No I haven't had a chance to do that yet unfortunately. I probably can't do it this upcoming summer either due to a summer job.
@@LucasChamberlain thanks mate I really enjoyed there traveling, yours also , it was helpful in Melbourne lockdown. All the best of luck to them. Cheers mate.
