The "roman style standards", and not only these, are quite universal in west Europe military history. Napoleon gave the roman legion eagle to his regiments. But it's to say that the german "signas" were adapted to the traditional ones of this country. Both BRD and DDR used the same "signa" and standards. During the nazi period the german army continued to use the same "signa" and standards of the german imperial army. The traditons don't die.
@@yottadrive Nazi German uniform = German Empire uniform with some modifications) This is a traditional German uniform that the GDR army decided to keep. While the Bundeswehr copied everything from the Americans (sorry for my english)
The distinctive NVA helmet was designed at the end of WW2 to be a cheap and easy helmet to manufacture. The NVA couldn't use the stalhhelm design for obvious political reasons so they used the aforementioned helmet instead,
Even though none of them are Prussian military marches since the DDR would be called anything but Prussia. They certainly do have that Prussian instrumental feel though.
@@pairtineach1917 ...They conquered Germany with all of their hate and commited many war crimes... somewhere understandable... but I doubt that only one women which was brutally raped (and mostly not of one soldier) felt liberated! The Soviet Union liberated Germany from the Nationalsocialism... but they liberated not the german people in the same way.
Great piece of music, thanks for the upload. Can anyone please tell what''s the name of the music heard from the start 0.00 till approx.<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="92">1:32</a>? Thanks!
If this is the same as the record you show than Side 1 should be: 1. Parademarsch Nr. 1 2. Marsch der Fackeltrager 3. Fanfare 4. Locken zum Grossen Zapfenstreich 5. Festliche Zapfenstreichmusik 6. Ehrung des Opfer des Faschismus und Militarismus 7. Nationalhymne der DDR 8. Zapfenstreichfinale
The picture is incorrect. Festliche Zapfenstreichmusik from this LP lasts only <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="724">12:04</a> (as here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I5j0Q-cZamE.html). This is Festliche Zapfenstreichmusik from letzte große Zapfenstreich der NVA (Am 4. Oktober 1989) (Live) (as here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8BAxqmlL6Hs.html).
It was originally a song made about the peasant revolt and co-opted by the far right. Ernst Busch made a lovely rendition of it as it is a leftist song at heart
Weltkrieges.Sehr bewegent.
<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="102">01:42</a>-<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="140">02:20</a> Ist doch niemals "Wir sind des Geyers schwarzer Haufen". Klingt russisch für mich.
