I drove thru that area 12 days ago. Amazing how the weather changes so rapidly. Even in the blizzard, that road is beautiful.

Native montanan. You can get snow here any month. Ive been fishing in sunny weather and fought 2 ft of snow going over rogers pass jn june. I remember my father out hunting when i was a kid and the mercury broke at neg 78 below 0. That was at rogers pass!

I can say first hand...as I live up there half the year...that storm was a doozy! We live ten miles west of the Continental Divide...where this video was filmed, and I can honestly say I’ve seen and experienced worse storms in that area...not fun!! We just winterized our Montana summer cabin and left this morning...to winter in the warm desert. We left a beautiful sunny day behind us. I already miss that cabin. We native Montanans have a saying...”if you don’t like the weather, just wait a minute.” From the comments I’ve read...you were given the correct pronunciation for, Marias...so I won’t mention it. 😉👍🏼

@@judieklepper2524 hi judie. It was a doosy. As you know most folks havnt been around long enough to exsperience how the weather can be. Its been mild scince 96. Winter of 96 i was living in a tee pee at 7,900 ft. Just south of the bob. Spent 5 years year round in that tent. Theres fewer of us left. I have and always will love montana .

That's actually the 'summit' of Marias Pass (the Great Divide). The county line between Glacier County (east) & Flathead County (west). West Glacier is actually about forty-six miles west of there. Opening scene is in East Glacier (ten miles east).

Yeah, something like 12,000 years ago an event occurred and the ice receded. Glacier park isn't known so much for having glaciers, but for having been carved by glaciers.

WTF! seriously @Red Richard? Morons like you pose a bigger threat to us who think of climate change is a scam. Do you even understand the difference between snow and glacier? Do you even understand that this untimely storm is a result of the climate change? We should raise funds and send morons like you to school so the humanity can survive.

Weather this year seems to be crazy all over.. Never in my life winter have arrived in September. Here in Scandinavia it came like a month to early. I live in the middle of Sweden by the east coast and we usually get snow in late November, mid December. It has been snowing for a week now, but melts when night breaks in to day. All the trees are still covered in leafs, autumn colored, but at this time with a fluffy white crown.. To early if you ask me! Stay safe!

@@Hazelrat10 Why does have to be so hard? Tree damage caused by the weekend snowstorm is among the worst city forester Todd Seymanski has ever seen. "I'm going to say close to 50 percent sustained either minor or major damage," Seymanski said of trees in the city's tree boulevard district. Two boulevard trees were lost in the storm, he said. The weather event is among the top two or three in terms of damage to trees, Seymanski said. Great Falls Montana.
