That's right. So don't call us environmentalists kooks, we work for the people not companies committing crimes. I highly suggest reading an article called "Lessons from Exxon Valdez, 25 years later" since that's what the people of East Palestine have to look forward to. Calling Erin a terrorist and unleashing the LEOs doesn't help their case, the people of East Palestine deserve much better than THIS. You see, my family was victimized by an oil company's dirty deeds many years ago....I never stopped fighting, still at it 1/2 century later.
Intentional or Grossly Negligent Non-Compliance If a CEO intentionally steers a company away from compliance, or if a CEO is grossly negligent in maintaining non-compliant operations, then the CEO and the company could both potentially face liability in federal enforcement proceedings.
@@grantgoldberg1663 considering a plant opened up 16 miles from the derailment and yet the company and Blackhawk wanted to take it to other states and fema was not called in immediately, yeah it is something along those lines of domestic terrorism going along with the treason in general by this current administration or else they would have properly responded including fema being called in immediately. It's one of the many disasters under this current administration with its corrupt and greedy people and corporations 💩 on everyone.
Every car that is added to a haul of deadly chemicals increases the risk of a failure. The rail company knows this but plays people for a fool.More cameras on tracks for security or terrorist possibilities. The best computerized sensors and control systems. We are talking about human life.
These people need to be compensated HEAVILY and allowed to start a new life in a different area. There is no way you can expect these people to continue to live here.
Ohio Constitution Article 1 Section 2 Section 2. All political power is inherent in the people. Government is instituted for their equal protection and benefit, and they have the right to alter, reform, or abolish the same, whenever they may deem it necessary; and no special privileges of immunities shall ever be granted, that may not be altered, revoked, or repealed by the General Assembly.
No worries everyone. We took the contaminated soil and water, loaded up on more freight cars and trucks (contaminating them) and moved all that stuff somewhere else, contaminating that place. Job well done boys!
I'm from Flint Michigan and I'm going to keep posting comments. This is the only way these people know were thinking about them. Wonder how many people believe what they told you was in the rail tanks to be true. Was the burning of the tank cars done to eliminate an explosion hazard or to get rid of what the tank really contained. Maybe this is why there has been no Dioxin fallout testing, they already know what it will show. By now I would expect most sample results to come back way below standard. No health hazard here, never was.
"No cause for concern". We carry insurance our equipment and cargo will be paid for. But thanks for asking. Oh, as for you "little people". Well it's not our fault you live in a Podunk town. Live somewhere better like we do. There's no toxic trains in our gated communities or high-rise apartments. Anyone else getting really sick of "these people"? I know I sure as hell am!
While qualified immunity shields governments from having to compensate many injured parties, the immunity enjoyed by governments does not protect against liability in every single case. In some cases, if a government employee’s actions are particularly egregious, the government may be liable for damages. In these situations, an injured party must prove that the government acted with utter indifference or a conscious disregard for the health and safety of others or their property. In Illinois, this may also be referred to as gross negligence, or willful and wanton conduct.
It’s kinda hard for me to just up and leave when they live paycheck to paycheck in some cases. Not everybody has the wherewithal to just leave everything behind and start over. I know I couldn’t do it and neither can most of the people in this town cannot do it either so please stop saying that they should just leave.
This is not a high upper scale town. these are people that worked for a living. Would you like to buy one of their houses . Norfolk decided they won't mind sacrificing their town. Looks like they were wrong, these people are not bending over or laying down.
In the 60's a B-52 carrying 4 nuclear bombs collided with a tanker over Spain. 1 was lost at sea 1 parachuted safely but 2 exploded (high explosives) contaminating the countryside. The U.S. sent crews to clean it up & brought it back to Savannah Georgia to be processed on American soil.
Such a shame that in 2023 this can still happen. What are the regulations that stop this from ever happening again in America? Where does the contaminated material go? Someone elses neighborhood?
Erin isn't getting a penny for being there, keep this in mind while they spin their tales. Unless you've had an "accident" like this (I have experienced one in another state) you really can't understand how betrayed these residents feel.
i just watched the hall meeting with the train company. This is so sad how these people are being neglected. I am not a Trump fanatic but I can guarantee you he wouldn't have let this go like this.
@@garychaney5484 you know as well as I do he went there for a photo op. He changed over a hundred regulations designed to protect our water air and land . And changed regulations that would have prevented this type of accident, all for greed and hatred for our country and the people who live here.
A lot is not right they’re just disgusting in the water in the soil that is gone. What state are they taking that to you know they’re gonna dump at somewhere
Wow that's a huge amount hauls away could you please tell us where they put the dirt and water thank you for your reporting I pray that hearts are not hardened so much stuff I know God still does miracles may you each see with your own eyes in Jesus name
Some of it has been taken to Wayne county MI. And people are rightfully angry. This could have been avoided if CORPORATE GREED WOULD NOT ALWAYS TRUMP PEOPLE AND THE ENVIROMENT.
