Facts. All the state powers like Chicago Mt Carmel , Joliet Catholic , New Lenox Providence , Loyola Academy , East St Louis , Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin , Rochester etc should play each other every year. I know some do
There are some really good teams in illinois. I would love to see the state develop more opportunities for these kids to play other teams across the US. I went to Lincoln-Way East, and Mt Carmel has ALWAYS been good.
They would lose badly. East St. Louis plays national games and lose almost every one, even this year they played a Texas school and got whooped bad same thing would happen to mt Carmel.
They trail Joliet Catholic in State titles and East st Louis in wins. It'd be hard to be the best program without leading in either category. They are definitely a top 5 program though.
@@DomLeroy3D Mt Carmel ought to destroy either JCA or ESL, they're more than 2 classes bigger than both schools. What Mt Carmel doesn't do is elect to play up a class like Joliet Catholic and ESL does in the playoffs. The fact both of these programs play against bigger schools on a consistent basis and still have more wins and championships than Mt Carmel does says a lot.
@@justinalvarado784 realistically, ESL should never beat Mt Carmel. They shouldn't be able to compete against them. ESL is a public school that's 2-3 classes smaller than Mt Carmel on any given year. There's not a team on ESL schedule that's a lower class than them. Can Mt Carmel say the same?
@@Bob-te3le no excuses. I have no dog in the fight. I'm just a high school football fan. Just saying how I feel the game would have went if the flyers were more disciplined in the first half. East stl GAVE away so many first downs due to penalties in the first half it was unreal. The fact that Mt. Carmel was more disciplined, forcing the flyers into penalties proves they were better coached and the better team last night.
@@Principalsareamust the unforced ones hurt the most. The amount of times they got the d line to jump in the first half is crazy. They cleaned it up in the 2nd half in that regard and it definitely helped
ESL defence need to get in the weight room. They fitness coach slacking. Everything else can be fixed but with that schedule they should know better to have all the lifting heavy. Some did. And some didn't on that team you can tell.
Joliet catholic won't play Mt Carmel anymore 😂😂😂😂 Providence Cath was unbeaten for 6 years until they played Mt Carmel and St Rita didn't want to play east St Louis so they went to regional for Play off and lost to Mt Carmel and Loyola is only competition but never really wins state title.....
@@Steve-cu1ye Part of the reason Joliet Catholic doesn't play Mt. Carmel is at one time the priests from each school fought each other. Not a good example to set for the students!
This game was played in August?! Let me guess, the combined penalty yards was about equal to either team's total yards. In all seriousness, ESL and CMC turned on the playoff mode in this early season matchup.
Neither will EVER top De La Salle of Concord, CA winning streak of 151 games. This included two wins over Mater Dei of Santa Ana, defeated St. Louis of Honolulu, the Hawaii state champions. I am a Joliet Catholic grad, and we could have never beaten DLS. I watched all the home games during the DLS streak along with some of the road games.
Don't forget East St Louis called put Mt Carmel at bears game and then ur not ready to play hopefully East St Louis stop drinking the Cool aide to many excuses for a team that tries to play cocky...
