I asked Ron Wright what he thought of Nick Gulas. His response? "He was a crook."

East TN is a very underated territory to the outside...The Johnson City Rec building on Legion Street was a who's who showcase in the day..

Thank You @thekingofkingspot. I live in Greeneville would like to talk to you about the little bit of wrestling in Greeneville. I had a Great Grandmaw that never misses a show that came to Greeneville & Newport. She went to the Johnson City when my uncle could take her. She would tell me stories about the heat the Wright brothers had and many other tails.

I'm from Kingsport and still live close by, I grew up seeing Beau and his ex wife Misty all of the time at the Kingsport Civic Auditorium. My first local show was at the Kingsport Civic Auditorium in 2003 or 2004. It had Big Boss Man, Tony Atlas, David Flair, and even Sensational Sherri, I was only 7 or 8 years old and its still burnt into my brain meeting Boss Man and telling him how big of a fan of his I was, and i rememeber him being such a gentleman. I've talked to Beau a bunch over the years in person and on Facebook, the guy is a walking encyclopedia and is just a good dude overall.

I grew up on Ron Wright. Years later had the pleasure to meet him and go to his home. After he retired from wrestling the built racing engine for go karts. His son's raced. Even at the race track in Rogersville when people realize who he was it looked like the gimmick table or a Jon Force pit people were everywhere wanting to meet the man the myth the legend

What a great video. Love Beau! I grew up in Jonesborough and can still vividly remember when I turned on WJHL on Saturday afternoon expecting to watch SECW and there was ICW with Garvin, Orton, and Roop! Beau- didn't WJHL show ICW at 11:30pm on Saturday night for a while?

If you're asking about my promotion Southern States Wrestling we opened about 6 months before Smoky Mountain.

Fascinating stuff. I grew up close to Sweetwater. We always had some wild small time promotions coming through. Everybody I grew up with was a wrestling fan. It’s like it’s mandatory in East TN along with being a Vols fan.

Tennessee wrestling for all the complaining from NWA big boys about the Ga Ga involved, proved to be the precursor to Sports Entertainment . I have to admit , not a fan of SE .

I remember when Beau would put hits out on "outlaw" promotions and wrestlers. Glad those days are behind us, East Tennessee is in good hands now, Thanks Tony, Rodney, Cody & Eddie, and others for bringing East Tennessee indy's into the modern era.

I remember most of this happening, the all star wrestling on 26, and the icw. Being a kid at the time I didn't know it was a wrestling war and I was just thrilled that another wrestling show was on. Now I wish it had never happened. Southeastern wrestling in Knoxville was so much better than anything around now.
