Glad they arrested him rather than killed him. Shows that there can be a happy ending to domestic abuse where the abuser is locked up and it also leaves open the potential of Gray coming back. Toby played the part brilliantly
They already undermined the seriousness of the domestic abuse storyline when they transformed in into a cheap serial-killer plot. They should've had Whitney or Mitch drop him off the bridge, that would've been a lot more satisfying. Not really a happyending especially if he returns, that would just exploiting what started out as a serious abuse storyline all the more.
@@NoirFan84 Of course that's your opinion, I personally didn't mind the change of pace, Grays storyline was always more about control than abuse. When he didn't get his way he dealt with problems by any means necessary so after he killed Chantelle and didn't go to prison for it he figured he could get away with it again and again
@@NoirFan84 maybe cuz the actor had potential of an amazing villian, i mean what did people want to waste grey/ tobey and lock him up years ago , we wouldn’t of had episodes like this aswell
Thank God he was arrested. If they killed him, then it would've just been the easy way out and no justice for Chantelle, Tina or Kush. Also, can we appreciate Toby for a minute? This man has spent the best part of three years playing an abuser and a killer to raise awareness and to entertain us. Hope he wins all the awards! Bravo, Toby👏
I agree. Toby deserves so much praise and credit for playing such an unlikeable character so convincingly and so well. When you see him on other shows being interviewed he's so different that you forget Gray is a character when watching Eastenders, his acting his outstanding. Good to see Gray arrested rather than allowed to take the cowards way out.
Well done Toby-Alexanda smith,Shona Mcgarty, Linda Henry, Danny Dyer, Lorraine Stanley, Rodger Griffiths, Zaarah Abrahams and every one else at BBC Eastenders for this showdown x
I'm so glad Mitch 'saved' him and finally he admitted that he killed Kush I was waiting for that. That look on Mitch's face was like "how could you do that to my baby girl" he wanted to kill him but he knew if he did that Chantelle wouldn't get justice.
I thought they’d never know Gray killed Kush too, but I’m glad he, Chantelle and Tina got the justice they deserved with Gray finally being caught. The acting is this episode was incredible.
It is great that no-one else was killed in this exciting conclusion. I could've sworn that Whitney would've been next to go when the episode was so close to the end. Once a resident dies, it can never be revived. Thankfully, nobody was killed and so, Gray will finally be put down and maybe live to come back in a year or two. Then again, I doubt that would ever happen.
This episode was unbelievable. All of the actors tonight, incredible! The way they ended gray was perfect. The way it was planned with every character was amazing. Glad to see a more dramatic side to Karen and Mitch which both actors pull off amazingly and had me in tears. That speech that gray told to Karen about him killing Chantelle reminded me of the hate I had for him which made his end very satisfying, and I’ve seen a lot of people not get the eye thing, it’s because gray did it earlier on in the ep when saying Chantelle’s last thing she saw was his eyes.
Yeh my first thought was why did he point at his eyes wen getting into the police car. Then I remembered he’d done it earlier. I’ve not watched eastenders since just before Chantelle died. Watched this week to see Grays ending.
Toby Alexander is the best actor EastEnders have ever had. Every scene he is in is entertaining. He is so intense, so into character, that he almost makes all the other actors seem rather normal. He will go on to bigger and better things. A very fine actor.
Well she finally wokeup to see Grays true colours finally discovering he abused and killed her daughter not known a thing of course it was killing her.
I really feel for Karen, she's always defended Grey, it must be heart breaking for her and it must be heart breaking for Mitch and for the Carters and Whitney too and Chelsea deserves so much better.
I'm so glad Gray didn't die. We would have been short-changed a proper conclusion with him admitting to his crimes and being brought to justice and facing the community. His acting has been first class. He definitely will be missed.
EE finally good again, a long time coming. Glad they did not kill Gray, Gray needs to be punished for his sins, not take the easy option. We now see the aftermath, families finding out, dealing with it and the blame game, wondering how they missed it and the guilt. This is not the last we see of Gray/Toby, we will see him when he stands trial for Chantelle, Tina and Kush murders. The victims needs justice as well, not sure when this plot will come though, maybe in a few weeks or months.
Toby is just a phenomenal actor and has played the character of gray so well how anyone can play a character so twisted and evil for 3 years is incredible hats of to him this is truly Eastenders at its best all the other actors really pulled it out of the bag tonight as well id say justice is very much been served for gray killing him of would not have been a proper end to the storyline especially after all this time
FINALLY!! This episode was absolutely fantastic. I was on the edge of my seat and didn't know what was gonna happen next. I was so worried they were gonna give Gray the easy way out and kill him. So glad they didn't. But Shirley better be okay! Justice for Chantelle, Tina and Kush!
Everyone played their parts brilliantly, Gray was arrested as he should be, even though I am going to miss him, just not in the role of domestic violence, but for the energy he brought.
After 3 years, this evil monster got what he deserved. Looking back, it really was a great story line and acted out very well. While yes, the story went on longer than it should, our patience payed off in the end. I'm too happy that Gray wasn't just ''killed off'' because well all know, death can sometimes be too soft of a punishment. (I could hear my next door neighbors jumping and cheering when the old bill got Gray, I think they were having a party afterwards to celebrate). Finally, I thank Toby Alexander Smith for the role he played for the last 3 years.
I said it couple days "it's going to be even sadder when Whitney founds out he killed Kush" and finally he admits the truth. EastEnders today was outstanding!!!! Everyone acting was magnificent
Glad he confessed, was wondering how they was gonna find out about Kush since there was no CCTV in the train station, while he might not get charged with it he's never getting out since 2 counts of murder are enough
Glad he was arrested the most moving part was at the end when they all helped Karen each of them had all been hurt by gray it was like we unite together
I’m glad they didn’t they didn’t let him fall and just kill him off…everyone deserved justice and to see him locked up forever. Everyone’s acting was great 👏🏻
Honestly this would have left me more satisfied if they didn’t drag it for too long. The scenes were absolutely incredible but it sucks knowing that I would’ve felt 100% pleased if this aired much earlier. Nonetheless, kudos to all actors and actresses in this episode
This episode and a few more, as you may know, we’re filmed on the new EE sets. They could have been waiting for the new set to be complete, which unfortunately wasn’t possible around Christmas to film epic scenes. Just a thought, not confirmed.
I'm glad Gray didn't take the easy way out, however... While justice is served with Gray being arrested, this is not a victory, unfortunately. Chantelle, Tina and Kush are still dead, and this is going to hit the Taylor family harder than ever, after knowing the truth. The square will also be horribly shaken by the severe damage Gray's actions have done to them. Also, praise to Toby Alexander for playing the role well, he's a cool guy.
I was hoping Mitch would give Gray a good smack. I thought he pulled him back over the ledge to do just that. But he probably knew that if he hit him once, he wouldn't be able to stop, and the police were there. He showed good restraint, I suppose.
For those confused with why Gray points to his eyes at Karen. It's another simple sick mind game of his to assert some control over someone(where he has clearly lost it all), in this case Karen. His hand gesture to the eye reminds her that he was the last one to see chantelle alive and that those same eyes that bore witness to her untimely death, would now be locked up and taken from Karen unless she indeed keeps visiting him in Jail. Its manipulative and tbh a streak of genius considering that when Mitch saved Gray he also looked into the very same eyes that last saw his daughter alive, yet the fear of chantelle watching gray before her death was instead in a twist of fate on Gray's face in the very moment his fate/life lay to Mitch who could have hurled him into the train. Alas a story.
@@adamburke4738 yeh as Phill tbh won't have much of a grudge to go over the rails but that nutter Lucas. From hearing about a wedding he was never told about to a grandchild that was about to be taken away and maybe( due to health reason) injured on top of abusing Chelsea. Would be nothing left of Gray to bury
I will admit tonight’s episode had me on the edge of my seat and heart literally racing it’s one of the most powerful episodes of EE I’ve seen in a while the emotion the drama the confession every thing was spot on A++++ to the writers tonight and same goes to the stellar cast seeing gray so vulnerable in the darkest most twisted psychological way possible was so intense it was acted beautifully by Toby and the cast and that intense dark beauty shined through I thought The only thing I’m a little confused about is the little point to the sky gray Did at the end beside the police lock him up and throw away the key what did that mean? Because to me that was a little nudge / reference to Tina,Kush,Chantelle as If he was saying “times up” someone please explain hopefully I’ve made sense Karen’s breakdown at the end though was so powerful I felt her pain and I really hope shirley is ok
He wasn't pointing to the sky, he was pointing to his eye. He told Karen earlier that this was the last thing Chantelle saw as she lay dying. He was tormenting her by reminding her of it.
Great end if any to the Gray, Chantelle & Tina story arc. Now justice can be done. A shame as Toby Alexander Smith was sooo good (and rather easy on the eye) at being a soap baddie, and is leaving. Perhaps if he comes back in a few years we'll see him in prison.
What a fantastic ending!!!! I was so pleased that Gray got arrested rather then killed off. Killing Gray off would of been an easy way out. I loved this confrontation between Whitney and Gray. Whitney pulling Gray up for the monster he really is comparing him to Rob; Tony and all the other abusive men she'd been with in her life. That moment when she found out about Kush's death so heartbreaking 😭💔. I hope Whitney dosnt blame herself. Loved that moment with Mitch at the end. Just like when Aaron got arrested for Keegan's racist attack; Mitch had that same thought. He got justice for Keegan and now he wants justice for his baby girl incredible!!!!!! Just have to commend that right hook that Chelsea gave to Gray as well GO ON GIRL!!! She got that off her father 🔥🔥🔥👏🏼👏🏼💪💪. Overall a fantastic episode well done to everyone involved. Especially Simon Ashdown and Calin o scalei for this week's episodes. Toby Alexander Smith has provided us with one of the BEST ever villains of EastEnders he was a horrible man but that's what we will remember him for. Now they have to do is lock him up and throw away the key Praying for some court scenes now with Laura 🙏🙏. That would be ultimate Karma. Well done everyone a great week of episodes 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.
There was a moment where I thought Mitch was gonna throw him off the bridge or into the train that was speeding past by the look in his eyes I think Gray kinda thought it too since he looked scared 😂
2:05 nasty, he reminded Karen that was Chantelle's last look. His caught but he thinks he still has the power by upsetting Karen, typical! 2:23 poor Karen 💔
finally OHHHH JUST FINALLY THIS EPISODE WENT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG TIME HIS DONE HIS STORYLINE IS GONE HIS DONE FOR WHAT HE DID WAS AWFUL AND NOW HIS ARRESTED THE JUSTICE IS DONE THE ACTING WAS BRILLIANT MY MOM WAS CHEERING OF GRAY GETTING ARRESTED SO DID I - I CHEERED TOO THIS EPISODE JUST WELL DONE. 👏👏👏 I Feel Bad For Chantelle & Tina & Kush but now gray is done no more gray atkins anyways Thank You So Much Toby Alexander Smith Ur Action And Acting On EastEnders Went Deadly And A Tough One. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Toby done an amazing job. The abuse storyline really worked and raised awareness. The whole serial killer part, while a bit ridiculous, also showed Gray's dark path he was taking after Chantelle's death. And it even showed he will DO ANYTHING to win, to keep others quiet or get what he wanted. Killing Tina was to keep her quiet about Chantelle. Killing Kush showed his obsession for Whitney (I guess because of Kheerat and Chantelle). I'm just so glad they didn't do more murders despite his temptation to kill Kheerat, his dad and whoever else made him angry (which didn't take much LOL!). Controlling Chelsea - just showed he could never change no matter who he was with or what situation he was in. I'm so happy he got arrested and will be locked up, if he had died, that would of been the easy way out. The storyline was honestly one of the best during the 2019-2022 era. Hopefully Gray wins Villain of the Year.
The best episode in a while, I genuinely loved this so much. Toby, a brilliant actor who deserves so much more recognition, no one has had me captivated for this long. Arresting Gray really put a smile on my face, I like the idea that maybe one day in the future, we'll see him again, and all the lives he took get justice. All actors who took part in these storylines did so with such gusto, which made it all so perfect, I was on the edge of my seat throughout. Gray's final nod to killing Chantelle was so impactful, so clever, and will be sure to leave a lasting reminder on the Square indefinitely. Watching Karen break down as the long overdue hammer of justice falls was relieving, knowing the worst of her nightmare is now over. We really didn't deserve the episode we got. A storyline that covers domestic abuse so well deserves superlative recognition and applause. Well done EastEnders. - your average 18 year old who loves Albert Square
I know everyone is rightfully praising Toby for his portrayal! But Lorraine Stanley needs to be nominated this year too!! She's done an insane job on this storyline.
Guys but remember he’s not gone for good! Look at the sign he gave to Karen as he was going into the police car. He will be back to cause more mayhem!!
The sad thing is, Gray might only be charged for Chantelle’s and maybe Tina’s death. But unless there’s CCTV at the tube station, I don’t think they really have anything for Kush’s death
Wish we got to see more denise this week. She loved kush and her daughter was almost another victim, this is bound to leave some scars almost as bad as the one's lucas left
Im sorry to all you 40year olds but Gray is by far the best Villain EastEnders has ever seen... to act like such a good person til the very end is just pure genius!!
most horrific scene was forcing chantelle to stay underwater in bathtub. Very well acted and directed. wish we'd get to see Chantelle come back as ghost to haunt him!! She was a great actress,so beautuiful.
I said this morning he will be arrested. I thought there for a minute he would be thrown Infront of the train 😳 he really did tonight's episode brilliantly, he really brought the psycho out in him.
He's still playing tormenting mind games w/Karen. I hope she now fully believes it & her & Mitch get custody of the 2 kids & Chelsea is free to raise her son in peace
Gray was a liar abuser and murderer waited for him to get his comeuppance for two long years which only speaks to how well the actor did his job so respect to him hope grey gets put in a cell right next to Lucas that would be true justice 😂
I LOVE when soaps are grounded and not trying to push the boundaries of what finale destination series of events can play out now. No bridge collapsed over a waterfall No fun fair ride came off the rails No sinkhole opening up Just good old raw storytelling with light stunt work. Reminded me of the good old days and a good way to show the new set
