I agree, I think when they decided to get cindy back I reckon they were like we can’t just not have Peter not involved, obviously a lot of people didnt like what they did with the last Peter, Ben hardy is now a movie star, and I reckon them bringing Kim metcalf back as sam influenced to bring back Thomas as Peter
I never thought Ben Hardy suited the role. He’s obviously a talented actor, but he just didn’t fit the part of Peter. I’m delighted they have brought back Thomas!
Oh damn, they actually brought Peter back on-screen! And he actually feels like his older characterization, and not a desperate Ian Beale clone! Yes! It probably helps that we get the return of one of his previous actors, Thomas Law! Let's hope they don't destroy his character again, like they did previously. Lauren is back too, and whilst I'm not a huge fan of her, it's nice to see her visiting Peter. She actually seems really happy as well, which is a plus. The real surprise for me was that Peter even wanted to visit his dad in the first place, especially since he hates him. And also kinda crazy that Lauren even allowed Ian and Cindy to look after Louie, considering what happened with Denny (though I blame Phil more).
What happen with Denny wasn’t actually Ian‘s fault like at all. It was Keanu and Phil’s recklessness that caused the boat crash, and even when that happened Ian went in and saved Sharon’s ungrateful ass son who literally put his son Bobby in the hospital fighting for his own life on the night of the Thames.
Tbh it was Denny’s own fault as much as anyone’s, sneaking onto the boat when he wasn’t supposed to be there, getting drunk and being a mouthy little prick
@@WilliamsVanGogh Yeah, I mostly blame Phil for what happened to Denny. Whilst Ian locking Denny in the boat didn't help either, that alone wouldn't have killed Denny (unless Ian intended to just leave him locked in there, which I doubt). Plus, he did try to rescue him as soon as the boat crashed. However, Phil pushing Keanu and causing the boat to crash was absolutely life-threatening and would've risked hurting or killing someone, regardless of whether or not anyone was locked in. It's hard to blame Keanu as he was on defense the whole time, though one could argue he also drove Denny on to the boat. The only reason Sharon forgave Phil was because he was honest about his role in Denny's death, whilst Ian lied about it. But what makes me lose more sympathy for Phil is that both he and Sharon proceeded to put all of the blame on Ian, even though it's still mostly Phil's fault and he's still walking around scot-free like the Karma Houdini he is. Yes, he tried to turn himself in, but as soon as Sharon and Ben bailed him out, he never tried to object to it and just continues moving along.
@@stemple11100 Denny was being a little shit, but he's also a kid. I'm not saying he should get a free pass just for being a child, but children do stupid things all the time. It doesn't help that he was also under the influence of alcohol. If anything, I think it's mostly Phil's fault. Whether or not Denny was locked in the boat, Phil causing the boat to crash would've absolutely endangered someone.
I feel like Dayle was good for that era, the Jon Sen era, but didn’t really fit in with Clenshaw’s plans and the direction he was taking the show so needed to go
@erosion271 The show turning Peter into another version of Ian was not only bizarre, it was a downright atrocious decision. It completely went against his character, and they turned him into a really bad comic relief.
@@BobBarnes2005Dayle was ok I thought, mostly another Ian but came into his own towards the end. Unfortunately, through no fault of his own he's one half of one of EEs worst ever scenes due Max Boweden horrible acting ("DO YOU KNOW WHAT ITS like to be me").
I personally wouldn’t leave 😂 but some people would if they’re home sick. Sounds like Cindy’s been looking over her shoulder for so long she couldn’t relax no matter where she went. Now that the henchwoman is dead she has the opportunity to reclaim her old life
Great to see the old Peter back. Shame it wasn't with the old Lauren, I guess it makes sense though. But again why put a whole summer of storyline into just the one episode?
@danielhead8123 yeah as I say it makes sense to bring Jacqueline Jossa back. Just in my head I see Thomas Law's Peter against Madeline Duncan's Lauren.
Thomas Law was the best Peter Beale , glad he’s reprise the role , Ben Hardy was good but after playing the role of Roger Taylor , I don’t think I could see him in anything else , especially not as Peter Beale
I thought all the actors who played Peter were a bit wooden, but I did enjoy Thomas Law the most. I had been hoping that one day he'd come back. If they can do it with Sam, they can do it with Peter. They didn't do it with Lauren though. Not sure why they got rid of the first actress in the first place.
Excited to have them return but i am interested in bobbys recation as hes obviously missed his father and brother i am hoping it will be a happy one but i dobut it I think it will be a awkward reuion with bobby angry at his dad and will be nervous around cindy beale as he killed her daughter lucy
Ian's a big person to get back with the ex wife who tried to have him killed and took his kids away from him for many years and then faked her death and didn't show up for the funeral of her two kids...
Has Thomas Law been in any movies? The only film I can think off he's been in, he played a young Gary King (A younger version of Simon Pegg's character) in The World's End
@@mattb6704 agreed each new version became buffer and blonder but the original actor I’d definitely the best. Presumably he got his looks from the mothers side of the family!
The most memorable Peter. Thomas Law grew up on the show. He had scenes with both actresses who played Lauren. While they’re on a recasting roll they should have just said “f**k it” and brought the old Lauren back. Jac Jossa can’t commit it’s obvious. She uses them.
@@Guitar-qv6gu never said it didn't make senseI just think it's a stupid story-line, bringing back dead characters like Cindy, Kathy, when they can't even write their own decent original characters anymore.
I'm probably in a minority, but this is a parallel universe even though I grew up with Ian and Cindy in the heydey. Just when we're trying to get used to the arrival of George Knight and co, why the need for these people to return? Lauren is so wooden as with the original Peter. Leave them where they are!
We all no what's going to happen Cindy and Ian go back the square Cindy will cheat same old story lines with mystery man everyone thinks it's George then it's turn out to b Simon or David wicks that b worth watching ,
Supposedly yes she died giving birth to Cindy Jr but it turns out that she was on a witness protection program instead hence why they were found in France. Her ‘death’ was offscreen
