My list will go on fights, backstorys, bottle and confrontations with other hardmen. I will only include fulltimers and after 1-8 the list becomes more difficult to do and becomes a bit more even. Also I will try to judge characters on there best work. 1) Grant Mitchell, easy choice here. 2) Phil Mitchell, been kicking arse for 30 yrs and an iconic hardman. 3) Dennis Rickman, decked Phil on his 1st night in town, beat up Jonny on his last and won almost every fight had. Only people to beat him was Grant & Phil. 4) Dan Sullivan, overpowered a prime Phil on one occasion and KO'D him on another (although this was a tad lucky). Also did time for GBH. 5) Vince Hubbard, could block/counter punches well and beat Phil clean down the middle. Writer shoulda done more. 6) Jack Branning, good skills from his boxing and police training. Toughest none bad guy. 7) Sean Slater, horrible bully but was really well skilled from his army days and had a ton of fights during his time. 8) Clyde Tavernier, ex pro boxer who was undefeated in all his fights and even The Mitchells respected his ability. 9) Mick Carter, mostly a family man but will stand up to anyone and has thrown some great punches and had some good fights. 10) Beppe Di Marco, well skilled from his time in the police, had a great fight with fellow copper Jack and even hurt Grant in a fight. 11) Stuart Highway, powerfully built has fought closely/evenly with Mick and sent Martin flying with a backhand. 12) Andrew Cotton, the guy huge, worked as a bouncer and was a legit tough guy in real life. 13) Jase Dyer, good reflexes, could take a beating and was fearless. Coulda done more with him onscreen. 14) Paul Trueman, could take a punch and was really fast and strong. 15) Den Watts, shows original KOTS had good mixture of brain and brawn and bottle. 16) Ray Dixon, could be higher as he seemed to fight almost even with Jack. His only other fight was with wimp Michael Moon which he couldn't lose. 17) Derek Branning, made up for the with sheer nastiness and aggression what he lacked in terms of speed. A Bull In A China Shop. 18) Owen Turner, tough call as he spells was brief and was somewhat inconsistent but has got 2 great performances under his belt. 19) Lucas Johnson, cunning and ruthless but could also pack a punch. 20) Martin Fowler, really strong and hot-headed but has struggled with people outside the top 20 and has been beat by 2 of the people above him. Tough call on this one. 21) Gianni Di Marco, really strong but a massive bully, everyone cheered when Grant attacked him. 22) Jake Moon, played his parts in fights with Sean and Owen, landed punches on Andy and looney brother Danny. 23) Frank Butcher, could pack a punch and would stand up to ANYONE. More bottle than ability. 24) Pete Beale, one of the shows original tough guys, opposite of wimpy son Ian. 25) Tony Carpenter, another one of the shows original tough guys, opposite of wimpy son Kelvin. Did manage to beat one of The Firms henchman. 26) Jonny Allen, old by the time he arrived in Walford but still really tough for his age, would have been much higher if he was younger. 27) Andy Hunter, mostly a bully onscreen but did manage to work his way to the top of The Firm and did pin Paul against the wall. 28) Mark Fowler, threw some great punches and rarely lost a fight (only Phil and Nick ever beat him in 15 plus yrs on the show) but would have been over his head against proper hardmen. 29) Keanu Taylor, tough call here as he had some great fights and threw some good punches but both his bottle and ability seemed a tad inconsistent at times. 30) Danny Moon, complete nutter but could fight and throw some good punches and would fight ANYONE. Honourable mentions; Lee Carter (for the good stuff), Steve Owen, Carl White (wasted), Max Branning (too inconsistent for a higher rating), Nick Cotton (for the good stuff, if the guy hadn't done any stints in the 90s he would have more credibility), Masood (another inconsistent, give us a great fight v Yusef but the shows worst ever v Kush), David Wicks (did well v Derek but was circumstantial, not sure how he'd of done in a straight up fight), Christian (also inconsistent), Eddie Royal (good hardman but only had 2 fights and one of them was a one-sided pasting although not many people woulda done any better), Kush, Charlie Slater (hardly lost but doubt he coulda hung with the big boys).

Good list but I think Stuart Highway has so much more potential to come he has decent size ,strength, weight and energy the EE producers better do something with him and not waste him like they did with Vincent Hubbard who could have been one of the hardest the show has ever had if they kept going after beating Phil in a fight near the beginning emphasis on the “could” when it comes to Vincent and Stuart

Keegan wouldn’t be in my top 30, he was good at fighting lads his own age but I don’t think he’d stand much chance against anyone on this list except maybe Tyler or Lee but even they would ultimately gain the upper hand.. good list tho
